Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
i'm so jelly. hopefully the exclusiveness is just some timed (bullshit) thing. looks fun.

whelp.

MS, help capcom out wontcha?

Sony and Capcom seem to be really close together right now. SCEJ is helping them build their next gen engine, Deep Down is a PS4 exclusive, SCE helped fund SFV and the prize pool for the tournament and they are also helping them on DDO.

Verendus also said that there's one more Capcom game thats a Playstation exclusive.

Yoshinori Ono also shared a comment in the interview, saying that Sony are cooperating with Capcom on the development of Dragon’s Dogma Online. The game will release in Japan sometime this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Announcement said "no plans" for western release.

Wrong. A UK rep said that.

Meanwhile Capcom has already registered the trademark in EU and do you honestly think with Sony helping that localisation is not coming?

These look so ugly lol, I mean I get that it's a PS3 game but that first picture is PS2 levels of graphics.

Yup, there's also the fact that the X1 is for the most part only relevant in the US. PS4 has a worldwide presence.

So it's a pretty easy choice who to partner with for a Japanese company in particular unless a game is being fully funded ala Scalebound.

Looks like Dragon's Dogma, yep. Good.

Will hold back hype until we know the details of the F2P system, but if implemented correctly, day one WHEN it comes out in the west.

The 33 second mark is pretty hype.

The guy jump parries a roar and then jumps and air dashes right into a head stab. So good.

Looks Generic as hell!
If Dragon's Dogma was the "Standard Fantasy Setting", then Dragon's Dogma Online is the "Standard MMO Setting"...

Anyway...
The F2P model killed it for me.
I'll ether wait for a proper Sequel, or a version with GW2 payment model.

Free to play. No thanks.

But hey now that you got the engine up and running on PC, how about porting over the first to PC while your at it.

Since you seem to know all the details about DDO's payment model, would you mind sharing it with the rest of us?

I didn't comment in the reveal thread, despite being a huge DD fan. This looks good, but the f2p stuff and MMo deal makes me hesitant

Of course I'm glad to have some sort of DD come back, but we'll see.

This doesn't look that bad. Though I would have greatly preferred a proper Dragon's Dogma 2 with multiplayer.

Also waits to be seen what kind of F2P model it will have. That can easily make or break an MMO

I'll pass.

Just the initial F2P and MMO tag spoil this game for me.

Its too bad, because DD is an amazing game as a single player exp.

Sooooo shouldn't we start spamming Gio Corsi for this? Better save then sorry!

The game just announced in Japan.

Is it so hard for some of you to have some patience and wait for a localisation announcement.

Dragon’s Dogma Online focuses on online play between friends, as you communicate to take on monsters together, but it will also have single player features such as raising your own Pawn, or even going out with them to explore the world.

MH team needs to start using this engine.

MH team needs to release MH4 on wiiU. This 3DS only BS is making me buy a 3DS, and i don't want to. haha

I guess we'll have to see how much of that is true. If the game is designed as ONLINE as the game has in its title. I would not believe the game to be balanced for single player experience. Also. F2P means everything will be tied into micro transactions and what not. I guess need more info?

Looks amazing. I'm hoping that it comes to the West soon enough. Only concern is how the micro transactions will work, hopefully they're not obnoxious.

How would you guys like to see the micro transaction stuff actually work?

I dont think this will be a true MMO like people think. To me it looks like the safe town will be the 'lobby', where upto 100 people can join and see each other. As many of these lobbies can be up as needed I expect.

Then people can walk around and talk to each other, basically to group up (4 people for standard gaming, 8 for raids). Or you can simply use AI pawns to fill your group.

Then your party warps to the world/raid/whatever, and I would think this would be an instance only for your group. So people wont see each other fighting out in the world.

So paying for extras will be optional and there wont be PvP etc.

I've noticed that Capcom just makes various forms of Monster Hunter at this point.

Dragon's Dogma - fast Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter
Deep Down - slow Monster Hunter
Ace Attorney - VN Monster Hunter

Don't forget Street Fighter - competetive Monster Hunter and Resident Evil - co-op genocide Monster Hunter.

Hahaha :D

Good lord, such a quality answer to such a quality post to begin with.
Congratulation to the two of you, maybe get a room or something.

Guys, I highly recommend searching for all of the scans from Famitsu.

The new armour, enemies and locations....droooooooooooooooooool.

I did that and now I'm hyped as fuck. It's really looking great, crossgen aside.
I really want to climb that sea monstery thingie and stab it, while being told that it's weak to fire.
