I'm very happy with it. Now, if only I had a game to play on the system....

Get Kirby and Luigi's Mansion on the eShop they're around $25 each

Well, I'm currently waiting to see if someone will come out with a region free option first. As such, I'm just stuck in this limbo now of not being able to play anything. I do at least have a copy of One Piece: Super Grand Battle X on the way, but who knows when I'll get that.

Check eBay out for Japanese games. Some are actually reasonably priced, I got Yokai Watch 2 for cheaper than I would importing. AA trilogy has an English option so check that out as well I guess.

I second the eBay option, you can clean up on import games there, especially if you don't mind used copies. I've found Japanese used games to be in pristine condition myself and I've also found plenty that were available domestically through eBay as well. And most importantly much cheaper than normal import options.

These two users for example who I've purchased from and shipping was crazy fast and the items were packaged really well and the games in practically new condition.

Finally got my New 3DS, and of course the first thing I do is end up stripping one of the screws trying to get the cover off to switch in my Micro SD card (first screw worked fine, second not so much). Managed to get my wife to squeeze in a new one with her tiny fingers, so I could download Yokai Watch, but no idea how I'm going to pull off the default cover plate to put on my Luigi one in a few days. Anyone have any good idea for getting a tiny stripped screw off?

The plates all come with their own set ofpre-installed screws, so even if your default is stripped, mthe Luigi set has its own fresh set

I think he stripped it in a way that he can't take the old out out.

Did u use the right size scewdriver? Don't use the big ones. This thing probably used jis screws which is similar but a little bit different than philips, I stripped a lot of those when I was assembling my rc.

Got Kirby and debating on MK7 (since I now have 8) and ALBW (since I 100%'d that game. Twice). Gonna pass on Luigi's Mansion 2. Fantastic game, but not very repayable. Plus it can become quite wordy at times, not that any of it mattered.

I thought I did, a #0 Philips. One screw worked fine (both out and in) the other I never could get out, just stripped it almost immediately. I'm aware the new cover plates come with screws, so not too worried about damaging what I have, since I don't see myself removing the Luigi one at this point. Just wondering how I'm going to get the default one off. Going to try using a rubber-band or perhaps a bit of glue, some tricks I've read online to get stripped screws out.

I don't have mine yet but I think it uses the same size as the old 3ds, so it might use something a little bit smaller than that. The old one uses phillips 000. And I'm not sure how to take out something that small lol.

Has anyone here imported EX Troopers? I've watched some videos on it and it looks awesome, but how import friendly is it for someone who knows no Japanese?

If none of that works you can always pick up a screw extractor tool.

At least you're not me, who managed to mangke the eject function on the SD card slot right off the bat. Managed to get it repaired, sort of, but was a bit interesting...

Seeing all these faceplate videos makes me so sad that the USA isn't getting the normal sized 3DS. If there was a way to get the english firmware onto it (so I could access the USA e-shop and play my USA cart games) I'd import in a second, but as it stands... =(

Damn, I've installed 3-4 faceplates and never got remotely close to stripping a screw. How does that even happen?

You know what I've found out with this whole "what? I need to unscrew the back to access the SD card?!?" debacle? A lot of people don't own proper tools.

Bought Harvest Moon on the new sale today and then gasped when I realized it didn't have furigana.... Fffffuuu.

Are Gaist Crusher or Medarot(Medabot) Dual any good? They're both cheap on play-asia right now and I'm thinking of taking the plunge.

Got Fantasy Life Link from the sale yesterday. Are there any others on GAF playing the JP version?

I got it too. I'm not sure how quickly I'll be progressing though, as my 日本語 isn't super 上手 yet, but it's good enough that I try to work things out rather than scrolling through and using a guide.

Tell me about it. I installed the felt Mario cover and I love it!
I am hoping Gateway gets a second production sense I want to play ENG games on my N3DS as well.

Damn you all gaf!! I haven't had a Nintendo handheld since gameboy sp and seeing all these fancy new 3DSXL's I feel like I've been missing out. Tempted now more than ever especially since I just got a very decent new job that I can afford multiple handhelds now. Whats the general consensus on the new 3DS ? Yay or nay? I feel like maybe I should dive in cause I didn't even play the greatest the ds had to offer.

In that case, absolutely go for it.
The 3DS has a very good software library as it stands right now, even though it's not as crazy as the DS one. But since you didn't play those, you'll be overwhelmed with all the games it has.
Not to mention a ton of indie/VC games as well.

It is why I didn't buy it. I don't understand why a game made for a lot of children doesn't have furigana. Level 5 does it very well. Surely due to laziness of other developers..

Import finally came in after 15 days. So pretty!

Congrats and don't forget to use all your 100 tomatoes during the first 5 months..

I'm so jelly of you guys. Although I am getting a big tax refund, I am already getting the Majoras Mask XL. I still want the N3DS for the faceplates...I don't really import much these days. :/

Been tempting to buy one like everyday for the past two weeks.

I played it on PS3, and I know the language so take what I say carefully still.
I think the game's really accessible most of the time. The action doesn't require you to know a lot, and when it does, it's for upgrades/bonus drinks and stuff. Just look at the icons and see if you can spot the same kanji when you get monster drops to know where to get what you need.

You don't really need a lot of upgrading/min-maxing in the game if you just aim to get to the end.

And the game is awesome, so get it!

Yeah, the dialogue is fairly easy to follow and the game is a good way to introduce business and trade-related vocabulary. If you ever want to play online together, don't be afraid to PM me.

Fuck it, I bit on it. After making a nice profit on ebay and also getting a big tax refund next week I can afford to splurge a little.

I ordered the New 3DS Kyogre Edition, Mint Charging Cradle, Groudon/Kyogre Faceplate, and Sega 3D Fukkoku Archives game.

They have Senran Kagura 2 LE for only $32 but the shipping jumped just because of it.

One of us, one of us!

Congrats, you won't regret it :D. The Kyogre edition 3DS looks beautiful.

Does anyone now how is Puyo Puyo!! 20th anniversary for 3DS? Not Puyo Puyo Tetris but the one that came out before that. The best price edition is pretty cheap right now on amiami, and since tetris is both pricey and difficult to find, I was thinking to buy this one for now.

For those of you with the felt faceplate, aside form it looking mad player-status does it provide adequate friction against your fingers? Sometimes when I'm playing all-awesome-like the NN3DS tends to slip, like during Dairantou time. What say you all?

So, If I told you I owned an OG 3ds first and then got a 3ds xl... What should I go for, a regular n3ds or xl?

It you did the same, do you miss the xl screen size?

I would say it does help your grip.
I like it because it feels so good against your fingers.
Also I haven't missed the XL screen because regular is just right.
My only complaint is the C-Stick honestly, but that is the same on both models.

It is nice to have first picks of games.

Does Nintendo sell an official 3ds charge cable? I'm on Gamestop.com and I can't find anything. I can't find anything on Amazon either. I'd like to buy the official cable if one is available.

is it only the japan new 3ds that has the changeable face plate? Not the US one?

There are two version the regular size 3DS and the bigger 3DS XL. The 3DS XL doesn't have interchangeable cover plate while the regular size has one.

So far North America only gets the 3DS XL so it has no interchangeable cover plate. They didn't announce the release of the regular 3DS with interchangeable cover plate.

thanks for the info, it sucks to hear but I kinda see now why the limited edition xl's are going for so much now. It's still all good, I'll be happy playing the games I missed out on anyway.
