PSN Flash Sale "Love/Hate" (Feb. 13th - 16th, Aksys games)

Got Lara Croft and the ToS, Knack, and Rayman Legends. Knack is really solid, has an old school try one more time sort of thing going with it. And I actually get a sense of accomplishment after getting past a part. Playing on Hard. Lara Croft is good if not a bit rough in the framerate department. Played Rayman Origins, and a bit of Legends at someones house so I know to expect a great 2D platformer Legends.

I never played a game in my life that was broken enough to be unplayable so personally I got LBP3. Bad mouthing is usually much stronger than good opinions.

Yikes, can't see that ever happening. Controls that miserable or does it just feel unoptimized?
The game plays fine, not sure what he's talking about. No real technical problems, the gameplay's fast and fun, the story's decent enough, and there's lots of content. Burst had major framerate issues and levels that dragged on a little too long, but SV is good.

The Flash Sale page keeps killing my PS3, three resets with HDD check, but I eventually got what I wanted.
I thought I was the only one who has trouble with the PS Store crashing my PS3. It does it pretty often. Is this a common problem?

The PS3 PS Store app/link has always been ass, never use it, just use the webstore.

Why the heck aren't you using the webstore...

$20-$24 is a great price for Guilty Gear. Amazing fighter can be tough to learn, but it's rewarding. That price is a steal. Get it!!!

My primary account is logged into the webstore, not my US account. Quicker to log in via the PS3 (minus the crashing this time though).

What's wrong with it? I was tempted to buy it tomorrow, it still costs a lot more here than the GBP equivalent of $24 at the moment.

Ultimately the game has a flaw in SP where sometimes you think you beat a world (get the diamonds or w/e) and the next world won't unlock. The game can sometimes crash back to the home screen, bugs, etc. It's sporadic but it happens still, but the main problem is online.

The game is so messed up I have to disable PSN on the PS4 to play co op because it always wants to check online.

Forget about playing co op online, it's not going to happen and even SP online is sketchy.

Can anybody explain to me the differences in the DOA5 games? Like what does ultimate get me compared to the $4 one? I'm just not seeing the difference.

And I guess the more important question to ask is, is it worth it? Especially if I'm a casual fighting game player at best. I basically only play the SP parts of the game.

DOA5 Ultimate have 5 new characters, a few new arenas and more costumes. For $10 I think it's worth it even for a casual fighting game player.

Did I make the wrong choice for buying Knack for 10 bucks?

It was reviewed terribly and it's tedious as hell at first because you're so weak. I really didn't enjoy it until I beat the game once. Time trials open up and other versions of knack once you collect all the treasures.

It is a MFer to platinum I still haven't because the treasures are random. Your friends list lets you pick and choose but the people playing it died off (until now probably) so your options are limited unless you can find a friends list that was similar to the Diablo 3 list we had here awhile back.

For 10 bucks I bought the digital version (sold the hard copy months ago).

It is great that I can research games I am interested in via this site. I find GAF user reviews the best way to judge whether a game is worth my money (& time). And great sale prices certainly help! In for Jackbox Party Pack, Rayman Legends, Lara Croft, and Knack.

Cheers

I think u could still enjoy it so long as you play in short bursts.

The sadness for some who paid full price for Knack is something I am thankful for never feeling.

I can never go wrong with 10 bucks, though. It just that the extremely mediocre reviews left me with a slight feeling of ''uh oh''.

Glad some impressions here are from people who actually enjoy it.

Referring to Street Fighter Alpha 2:

Punch x 3 = Jab
Kick x 3 = Short

I replaced both jab and short for punchx3 and kickx3 respectively. Since there are no EXs they work like a charm.

That's actually a very good idea!

My solution for playing on PS Vita was to use the right side of the touch screen. I set the upper right corner to L2 (3 punches) and the lower right corner to R2 (3 kicks). That generally works well enough, but I might try your idea, at least when using certain characters. For a few characters where 3P or 3K is used for a special move (e.g. Zangief's Spinning Lariat, Akuma's Warp), it could be a problem.

SFA2's intro on PS1 is a noticeably compressed FMV. That's kinda unusual for an Alpha game.

(Don't mind me. I'm nitpicking.)

I noticed that too. I don't think this is the case with the PlayStation version of Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold (part of Street Fighter Collection, which sadly isn't available from the PlayStation Store).

Dynasty Warriors 8 Vita had some significant framerate fix patch that never got released for the US version, right? Or did it come out?

Really want to get my friend JackBox, but he just moved and won't have internet for a few days. I'm SOL, right? The lack of gifting options on PSN is ridiculous.

Not getting Knack yet. I'd rather have a physical copy for the same price, or wait until it's free on PS+

So I decided on Knack and Ratchet A4O. I know Knack has a big chance of being a PS+ title, but for $10, I get to keep it forever!

And as a pretty big fan of Sony's platforming trinity, I figured $8 for A4O even if it wasn't a big hit is good enough. Now if Tools, Crack, and the PSP games would be on sale, I'd have almost the whole series! :D

Oh and FFA PS3, ain't touching the Vita version. :p Deadlocked also but that's got some major graphical issues.

I justified that with the B2G1 free promo off Amazon when the PS4 released.

I got Knack, Killzone and AC4.

I never beat Killzone, I couldn't bring myself to it. Knack took me 6 months but gets better after you beat it once or twice. It took me forever to finally beat it because I hated it lol.

Looking back I should have got BF4, Rivals and AC4.

I've seen people asking but noone responding, is the game still ridden with bugs or would you suggest it to others?
I think most of the singleplayer, saving and creation mode bugs have been squashed, but there are still some lingering ones. Networking features are still spotty from what I'm reading, and was decidedly unplayable last time I tried (few weeks ago).

I got grudge sucked!
So after deleting and downloading DW8XLCE a second time, and making sure it was completely downloaded and updated, it STILL will not work, it will not even load at all. I get the option to send an error report and thats it.

Anyone else with this issue?

I bought Knack and been playing it for the past couple of days. I have to say, I don't understand the hate this game gets, it's great Old-School fun. Especially Coop.

This download is really fucked up. Tried to get it to install the latest update and it keeps cycling between "please wait" to "update downloaded, ready to install". So I backed out, tried to delete, and it pretty much froze the system. I tried to power off and it just had the "please wait" message up for 10 minutes before it finally shut off the video output. Even then the PS4 was still lit up light blue like it was on. I left it on for 30 minutes and it never completed the shut off procedure so I had to unplug it.

Can I get my money back for this shit?

All sales are final according to the Terms of Service, but I've gotten refunds via the Live Chat. They forward it to someone that decides it, the chat person can't tell you if your request will be granted.
