My guess is that there was too much baggage associated with the name, and they are going to rename it once it's actually done so they can start a new PR campaign sans the Duke Nukem style associations the old name has.

I'm pretty sure you could list E3 2012 and maybe even 2011 in there. People have been saying "E3 or bust" for TLG more years than most games get for full development.

For what it's worth, I stopped giving a damn about this game ~5 years ago, and I really wish people would cease to bring it up again and again and again and again and again on NeoGAF.
This whole "I believe it's still alive" nonsense wandered off into la-la land long ago and stopped being funny in circa 2013. Please get over it. Games get cancelled. It happens. The world goes on.

I actually don't care as Team Ico only made 1 game I found fun and the other being an art piece, SotC and Ico respectively. I never understood why so many people clinged on to it, outside of the fact that it's just not out yet.

I am interested in the allure of the game though and so many people reaching out but just can't reach it.

You guys have to wait a few more years, this list of things wouldn't be as fun to read as the FFXV one.
