Tales of Zestiria pops up in Steam database

License is no longer free on demand but Single Purchase. Seems they updated it quickly. Pretty funny they changed Tales of Zestiria to TOZ to hide it.

The fact that they changed the name to TOZ to hide it makes this rumor more convincing.

I doubt it'll come in the near future though, as we haven't heard any more info from Akiba's Trip which has been leaked way earlier.

Steam sales would go a long way towards improving this series's popularity in the West.

I bought xillia for less than 10 bucks on Playstation. First game I've ever tried in the series. I never would have considered it without the sale, so i wholeheartedly agree with you.

How did you find it?

They working on it as you can see here https://steamdb.info/app/333980/history/

I see. So each update means that they're adding/changing something to the game, right?
I guess I'll follow ToZ then. :)

Bladestorm & Devil's Third as well.
I'm not sure with the Online part though, and it's actually a Wii U exclusive making it more complicated.

Yeah, Steam is leaking names because it's marking apps free for some reason or someone is trolling.

Bladestorm already has been announced.

I think the SteamDB folks broke their crawler somewhat. I don't doubt the names are correct, but apps like Jurassic World and Naruto 4 being listed as free is almost certainly a mistake (they're not free-to-play, and less pertinently Free on Demand subs don't even work until the app is publicly available) and particularly in the case of Devil's Third there is no way the app is as old as SteamDB is insisting given Nintendo jumped on board at least 8 months ago.

Why not? I think Nintendo doesn't own the iP, so Itagaki is free to make an online game with it.

I'd wager it was something that was in the works while Devil's Third was under THQ's roof. Judging from the MP trailer it seems the game is co-owned by Valhalla and Nintendo, and given it has an MP component I sincerely doubt Valhalla has signed up with another publisher to release an online-only spin-off in the near future (relatively speaking). Time will tell, in either case.

great news!

Bought the Graces F and Xillia Pack last month or so. Graces F was ok and I was really into Xillia. But I only dabbled into the Tales series because it was discounted deep (15€ for the pack) Would be all over new Tales relaeses on Steam.

And to think that this JRPG rise on Steam started with Agarest Generations of War ^^ (Agarest 2 just released btw)

I guess so, we really can't expect anything for this one atm.
We'll have to wait and see.

I think YS series did that part a while back earlier, along with FF 7.

Oooh please. If this is a trend it'd be pretty rad if they brought the older Tales to PC like they've been doing with Final Fantasy.

SteamDB developer and generally a pretty crafty guy.

We didn't break anything, it is correct that they show up as free on demand packages, otherwise we wouldn't be able to grab these packages' names.

The reason why names started showing up is because two days ago I added a new method that gets package names from account page after the package is granted to bot's account. And the reason why our bot is able to do so, is because it forcefully tells Steam to grant it, without checking if it's able to get app info first (like Steam client does, which is why it fails).

They did sign an an agreement with a Korean company to bring it to PC before that happened, it could be that it's still happening and it's a different outsourced project, not the game coming to WiiU.

Ah, right.

Is the game as terrible as the Japanese audience seems to think?

Depends if you get overattached to party members.

Some legitimate issues I've heard is that the frame rate can get pretty bad and the camera can spas out at times. PC version can fix at least the first one.

Dont get your hopes high on ports of prior entry´s but maybe a third party Dev could help them out ... Ghostlight pls.

If we get Zestiria and it's successful, I think ports would be pretty reasonable, if not likely. Probably not in-house though.

The quality of the ports would be a bigger question.

Steam could become an avenue for Japanese developers who have fallen to the wayside to get their work out to a wider audience. Look how well Valkyria Chronicles did.

No bald cap? Lies!
I would have no reason to keep my PS3 then and just upgrade to PS4 for P5 and just get ToZ on PC. Sounds good to me.

I've gotten so over Tales in recent times, so this doesn't really make a difference for me. Now, if they ported the PS3 version of Vesperia to the PC, that would actually be interesting.

listen to the mad man
Devil's Third is pretty clearly a holdover from the THQ days when the game was online-first and multiplatform. But ToZ? Yeah, that seems likely to me.
