Unless there's a good N3DS game worth importing, I don't see the reason to pick up a Japanese system since regionthree exists.

I just had an EMS shipment last month, and it went an entire week without any updates, and was then delivered the day after it finally. So... Don't worry yet! Their tracking system just doesn't seem that great.

The problem with Regionthree is that it doesn't offer a solution for accessing data on foreign eshops. For example, Daigasso Band Brothers P is completely unplayable on a non-JP unit since you need to access the JP eshop so you can exchange tomatoes for songs. Online games that get bigfix/balance patches would be a problem, too.
It has been slow. They promise 4 days or so...it has been taking 10-12 days. What seems to happen in my area nothing on the tracker then suddenly its in Jamica NY and then heading to me. I have found using the USPS tracker better than than the JPN one. Really wish they would offer a FedEx option. Even if its expensive.
This year everything seems to be limited. The amiibo thing is stupid. It was meant to be part of playing games but they are making it impossible to get them. Wave 4 sold out in seconds for three of them. It really is getting to be not fun. This is a nightmare for parents with kids.
Very confused by this business model. At this point, since I buy in pretty much all regions, this is no longer a local thing but is happening in all the markets. They would be better off like someone suggested in bundling products or raising the prices and getting the premium themselves instead of scalpers.

thanks for the info. i guess i'll delete this and jmport the physical version. the black box for the game looks nice. it'll fit along great with the Attack on Titan game too!

So even though I had preordered the Majora's Mask Faceplates early in January, Play Asia ended up screwing me out of my order. So I opted to get them on ebay even though they are drastically marked up. Should be in next week. Still keeping an eye out for the Xenoblade set to pop up on ebay. But at this point, I think the only thing I will order from PlayAsia anytime soon is my Magnolia Arch statue for Bravely Second (already preordered the Collector's Edition of the gave via Nin-Nin as they were the only ones with preorders readily listed and at a decent price)

I preordered the Majora's Mask n3DS Cover Plates at Nin-Nin Games ages ago, only to find out that they're being released in Australia very soon anyway for a cheaper price. ;_; I'm trying to cancel my preorder and get a refund (even with the 10% cancellation fee, it's still cheaper), but they're not replying to my emails, and there's still no estimated shipping date. Is this normal?

I find the best way is to comment on your order. They were pretty quick when I did that.
But yeah, Nin-Nin's Customer Service sucks.

eShop games don't work sadly. Because of that, Badge Center isn't an option. I like my imported system plenty. Much better than an upgrade.
DQVIII and DQ Monsters 1 and 2 are getting a Greatest Hits release in March. It will be around 7500 yen for all three games, which is a good deal.

Anyone else feel like the top cover plate should be a bit more flush, I kept clamping down when putting mine on and I was like, huh, guess thats as low as it goes. There's like a 1/4 bump off the back of the 3ds
Well, I guess that's something for me to get with my 70 points if nothing else interesting gets added before the shutdown, at least. Really wish they'd add Club Nintendo Picross+ though. I stupidly decided "oh, it's probably okay to just wait since Nintendoji and the original CN Picross got added" so I figured I'd just wait rather than pay the $20 or whatever people were asking for a code on eBay. And then of course the shutdown got announced.

Just got mine today. Im surprised how much more the digital versions of the game are? I think Majora's Mask is 4000 Yen at amazon.jp and 5500+ in the Eshop.
If you're into the theatrhythm games the demo for DQ theatrhythm is on the eshop today. I'm curious if this one gets localized. On the one hand, they're localizing DQ Heroes, on the other hand, squeenix.

Yeah, for people like me who went completely digital it's kind of not fair, but I chose that path so I shouldn't be complaining. It stings sometimes when I go to stores and see used like new copies of a game for a few yen. Whatever, It won't change anytime soon I guess.

I told my gf that I'd bought her the Zelda 3DS in the pic and she was scared that I had bought the "ugly one" at the bottom. She was relieved it was the JP one.

Oh boy! I have 60 points so I'll grab one. Glad to know this thread exists, otherwise I wouldn't have known.
As a side note, DQ VII is quite fun, if anyone decides to buy it. I'm glad I can understand most of the game with a dictionary!

Yeah I was planning on going full digital as well. The game prices I feel are not as consistent like NoA pricing. But I got a stack of games that I'll have to bring home I guess.
Can someone help me with the difference between a few games?
I have the first Hatsune Miku Project Mira game. What's the difference between that one, 2nd and new one that's coming out?
I also got the first Taiko Drummer, does the 2nd one have a different soundtrack?

Haha. I like my ugly one! Though not nearly as much as the Japanese model in the MM faceplate. I rocked the "wood" plate since launch, MM was the only thing that got me to switch it out (and I've purchased about a dozen so far!).

I'm a black N3DS/Boo Plate man myself. Haven't seen any other plates that caught me eye and the glow-in-the-dark is pretty neat.

It's such a nice combo. That's what I'm using too. I like the Kirby plate, but not enough to lose the Boo. Maybe the new Triforce Zelda case...

I just played the demo months ago. It was OK imho, but i guess it's a decent game. Can't do much wrong at ¥1500. For what it's worth, Famitsu scores were 8/8/8/7 [31/40].

I doubt it, unless you really miss swimming for some reason?
It's probably a shot to get some kids to bug their parents into picking the game up for them while it's cheap. Which is a bit silly as you can get a regular MH4 cart for less than 500 yen.

Grabbed E.X. Troopers. Not really feeling it, but only played for about 15 minutes. It's got great ratings, though, so I'm hoping it will pick up sooner than later.

So here is a funny story. Back when I bought the Wii U Premium Pack I registered at Nintendo Network Premium (yeah, everyone forgot about that one, right?). Two days ago a mail from NNP (the first one ever afaik) popped up in my mailbox, telling me to use the codes until end of March. What codes lol?! Turns out I had a ¥1500 gift sitting there all the time waiting for me. Got me Bio Hazard Revelations for ¥1500 off the eShop for free that way hehe.
I really liked E.X. Troopers. Can't go wrong with that price imho.
