Pretty sure DOA Brad is Chinese, Team Ninja isn't wong about that.
You are correct, I am not sure why I included Brad Wong on there.

Thought they changed her ethnicity to hispanic? Why do people assume she is mexican because of her fighting style? Are Helena, Christie, Brad and Eliot Chinese now? Is Zack Thai?
Japanese designers seem have some... preconceptions about skin color.
To illustrate the point, here is Cia, one of the main villains of Hyrule Warriors:
She is also the one with the most questionable design - and not because she is The Seductress, but because storywise she was corrupted by evil forces, and her aspect before, as a good girl, was:
Oh boy.
I like how every brown character in a Japanese developed game is supposedly based on the ganguro fashion style for some. Or is supposed to be tanned.
No, I don't. I put quite a bit of work into 3D art and different lighing and advances in texturing makes a giant difference. The skin and lighting in DOA5 is much higher quality. If you were to apply these techniques to her old model it'd be much closer than you think.

FWIW she's several shades darker in game.they just wanna be like Virtua Fighter
As opposed to what other culture in the world? Just lol.Japanese designers seem have some... preconceptions about skin color.

He also said his top six most hated fighting games were Tekken 1-6.
Is her ethnicity really relevant to allegations of skin lightening tho?could she be puerto rican? dominican? cuban? brazilian? honduran? the possibilities are ENDLESS! so many ethnicities represented with a single character!
Yup it's just like with anime, people always ask "why are anime characters white?" But the moment you suggest one may be black they always have 1000s reasons why they aren't
The Okinawan gets me every time. lolThis man needs to lean that there are many shades of delicious brown skin. 90% of the females I create in games have brown skin soo many options all amazing!
What a yellow wash.

Devil's Third must be moving to NX right?
I know right, white is consider good in most culture while black is considered evil, as a black guy you just gotta laugh it off.As opposed to what other culture in the world? Just lol.
Itagaki sounds like an absolute bitter tool.
"Moron developers?" It's like he thinks the DOA he made were some kind of high art.
CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY
FWIW she's several shades darker in game.
but either way agree it's wrong.
I haven't had a chance to play Hyrule Warriors yet on my Wii U (going through Bloodborne and Type 0 HD), but if this is true, I might be selling it. This is some ol' BULLSHITE.

I don't know anything about the skin color issue, but Itagaki comes off as real fuckin' creepy talking about his characters getting "old."
Never stop creepin', Itagaki.

Except the Character Lisa Hamilton is not japanese. And obviously wasn't wearing caked on makeup in DOAXBV.
Every time I see this I still get mad.
Except her name is Lisa Hamilton, went to high school with Tina Armstrong and her nationality is listed as American.

No kidding.I don't know anything about the skin color issue, but Itagaki comes off as real fuckin' creepy talking about his characters getting "old."
Itagaki already said Lisa is Latin. Itagaki didnt have a last name for her.
Itagaki said in a Facebook reply that Lisa is Latin (Latina) so yeah she could be mexican and grew up in the US
why ask questions like this when you could ask WHY IS LISA A SCIENTIST AT THE AGE OF 20! lol DOA makes little sense
How is this even possible? Did she stay out of the sun for a thousand years or is she wearing makeup head to toe?
How is she Latin when Zack and Her are related last I checked?
actually I booted up the game and I think you're right, that image seems to be using one of her 3 custom skin tone options. so I was wrong. however, her default IS darker than that image.hmm.... you're sure that's not the customization color? Cause I really don't remember her being that shade.

She could've been born to hispanic parents. The doa wiki says she also uses capoeira moves though so I dunno.
