After going back to Judgement of all games it made me miss the shit out of that franchise. Me and my bros would get on and co op all of them when they released then play the multiplayer for months.

so many memorable moments and characters. probably one of my top franchises all time.

Yeah, great franchise.

They are just so damn fun and offer a ton of content: The campaign is fun in solo and even better in co-op, online multiplayer is fun and horde mode is a blast.

I wish more games just copied gears in terms of "type of content". There are basically 3 modes which are really fun to play with friends and all of them offer a different type of experience

Gears is awesome, though I've only played through the first one and part of the second. It was my first "holy shit, this is next gen" moment, last gen. I had lots of fun co-oping it in college.

It feels like such a 360 era franchise. And you got the trilogy and the dumb who cares game. Felt like epic told the tale they wanted and were satisfied

The idea that there's more coming is very surprising and not at all exciting for me


I felt the same way with uncharted before uncharted 4 was announced and that announcement was met with kind of a big sigh to me as well

Oh well. They'll come out with new gears games and I'll ignore them.

Gears 3 was the pinnacle of online play. Any other answer is just clouded by nostalgia. I miss it so much. I re-upped my Live for a month just to get that rush again. The online is still fairly good on 3. I never had a problem finding good games. Sadly, I think Rod squashed the hopes for a Gears collection. Unless he was just frontin'

Gears 2 and 3 were infinitely more enjoyable and faster paced than Gears 1. Horde mode was fucking amazing and I loved how they mashed King of the Hill and Annex together in 3.
