Well this is a thing now .. thanks polygon ha
Changing the guitar layout sucks because I was really hoping for a GH guitar so I could play RB4. :/
Interesting how we know next to nothing about both games, yet you're already saying that the new Guitar Hero game has a better tracklist and/or Rock Band 4 is shit. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of brands.
At least it'll have a good track list unlike Rock Band.
Rock Band 3 had Roundabout and 25 or 6 to 4.
Case closed.
Perhaps, but I really only have one that works "perfectly" at the moment. All my other ones have issues or just plain don't work.Technically if everything goes to plan, you'll just be able to use last gen GH guitars in RB4 anyway.
Domain names are the new amiibo.Well this is a thing now .. thanks polygon ha
Guitar Hero had 21st Century Schizoid Man.

Those were some of the highlights of an otherwise average setlist.
Then again, my two favourite setlists from the GH/RB series are from the first Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5, so whatever.
They should just change the crowd per song. When you play Fallout Boy the crowd will be filled with teenage girls, when you play Dave Matthews Band drunken frat boys, etc.So if it is First Person, that means you will be watching the crowd the whole time?
I don't want to jam to drunken frat boys.
Different strokes for different folks. I can't decide whether Rock Band 2 or 3's setlist was the best of that series. I'll have to reexamine the Guitar Hero setlists to come up with a favorite some other time.
I think this sounds kinda neat. It could be a good change. Can't you wait to try it?
At the least you're going to have some variety in this space. That's pretty essential.
I think my favorite will always be GH2. I know it got some complaints early on about "the bands you want, the songs you didn't," but Harmonix was so on point with the decisions they made.
As long as i can have a "realistic" drumming experience i'm fine, and by that i mean 4 toms + 3 cymbals + double bass.
Have they mentioned drums at all though? I've only seen guitar/bass mentioned.
I guess Lola is more populare, but surely You Really Got Me would be the second most obvious Kinks choice? When I was younger my music taste/knowledge wasn't quite so broad, but looking back on it it really was weird at some points. Last Child? Bad Reputation? You Really Got Me? And that's not even bringing in some of the 360 exclusive songs. All of which were great fun to listen to and play, but definitely not first choices for a lot of people. That fact actually makes me the game much more endearing to me.
Don't really understand how RB and GH happen to come back at the same time.

It was the Van Halen version.

Yeah, that's the main thing to take away here. They aren't sticking with the formula that would have easily worked. It's risky but I suppose it's necessary when trying to innovate.Props for at least trying to do something different with it.
I feel like the time for music games have passed.

I don't know why it needs to be in first person, though. That's just weird.
The version in GH2 was the Van Halen cover. Well, a cover of the Van Halen cover, since they wanted a VH song, but they weren't so willing to give their blessing for an original song. It's the same reason why Train Kept A Rollin' is in RB1, despite Activision already signing Aerosmith to their exclusivity contract for a few years, as it was a cover.
The rockband games have a great / varied. setlist and there is a 2000+ song library to choose from.

Train Kept a Rollin in RB1 is hilarious for being a cover of a cover
Does nobody realise that the first-person angle is most likely for the new VR platforms?
Imagine four of you standing in your room with VR headsets on, playing instruments in front of a big crowd.
New level of immersion in 'live' music, yadda yadda.
I don't like these games too much, but that prospect is interesting.
