Strange question, but is there any way to force save progress outside of your home? I thought I saw a tooltip about it early in the game but I've forgotten :(

Open up your phone and I think it's the bottom left icon. One of them is a save option.

feeling let down by this.

i don't have the best PC but struggling to get 1080p 60fps. i5-4590, 8GB, 290 4GB. need to go down to normal settings and x2 aliasing at most. shadows/lights are glitching. mouse/keyboard input is lagging. loads of pop in.

seriously considering a refund if steam allow it.

Have you installed the last beta drivers from AMD?

Would you say the single player + playing with randoms online is worth the cost of entry for GTAV? No one in my group of friends plans on buying it and I'm debating if I want it now or wait for 50% off. I've played every GTA game since GTA3 and enjoyed them.

I'm also slightly worried about my hardware: GTX 680, i5 2500k, 8gb ram.

I would say the game is easily worth full price just for the single player campaign, which is one of the best I've ever played. I'm not a fan of the online portion at all, but I think it really depends on who you end up playing with; if you're playing with total randoms, it can really suck, but with a good crew, it looks like it could potentially be a huge amount of fun.

As for your hardware, I'm running a similar rig (GTX 680, i5 2500k @ 4.4 GHz, 16 GB RAM) and the game runs pretty smooth. 50ish FPS at 1080P with most options maxed. It says I'm over my VRAM cap but I haven't had a single hitch yet. It looks stunning and it's smooth; great port from a technical standpoint.

You should be beasting the game with that hardware. Try turning off the stuff in the Advanced Graphics menu. If that fails then pray to your lord and savior Nvidia.

Getting some minor stuttering today not sure why :S

Also when checking some settings I can't seem to change some things like grass quality or turn on tessellation or MSAA

I jumped into a session and as far as I could tell it was just 28 of us running around doing fuck all.

I haven't OC'd my i5 so I think it's still running at stock (3.3ghz?). I've OC'd before but never had much reason to, so if I get bad performance I could always figure it out again.

GMG also has a voucher that makes it ~$48 so I think I'll grab it. Does anyone know of a better deal anywhere else?

I wasn't expecting to be able to pick this up for a while due to financial woes, but I woke up this morning to find that one of my friends gifted it to me. Can't wait to play later!

Disable MSAA. It's a massive hog. Does anyone know if SweetFX works with DX11 now?

Hmmm, don't understand why you are getting such bad performance. Your 290 shouldn't be too far off from my 970, and your CPU shouldn't be an issue.

Firstly though you should turn off msaa 2x, just use FXAA.

As for the glitching and lag, no idea. Did you update to latest AMD driver?

you'll get mission notifications from time to time

if my experience from PS3 is anything to go by, these missions will almost always be a race around the prison

the benchmark test wont work properly for me. it loads the first mission, asks me if i want to quit, i hit no, then it "loads" the benchmark, but just continues to show a load screen

game itself starts fine. anyone else have this issue?

Holy jingle balls, I didn't expect to reach my speed limit on launch day but not getting above 100KB/s is really low :(

Physical version seems to be selling really well, only one store had physical copies left where I live. All others stores are completely out of stock. It's been a long time since I had troubles getting a copy on launch day.

Known issue. You need to get to a save point in the story before benchmarking will work.

Are you playing fullscreen? For some reason i get laggy inputs if i use windowed/windowed borderless.

I don't know why but it's infuriating, especially if you have a 2-3 monitor setup and stream.

Also, to people who have experience with GTA Online, i never played the online portion of PS3/PS4 but how on earth do you buy a car? I finally found a good penthouse to buy after looking for like 30 minutes since for some stupid reason they don't put them on your overall map.

AA is a serious performance hit.

If you still have stuttering after that run latencymon or processmonitor and make sure your system is being utilized right.

i53570
8gb
amd-7950

and am running high to very high on most settings. I only turned off the useless dof and ambient occulsion other than those most options high or very high.

Drivers shouldn't matter unless they are super old beta and 14.12 tested fine at this spec. I'm very oced on this rig and I doubt very many other gaffers have tweaked their registry/bios like I have cause stuttering is very infrequent and the game is smooth like very low microseconds smooth.

Replied to you in the performance thread but disable MSAA and most of the advanced settings. See my settings here for 1080p60 locked on a 280x:

I second this frustration. I greatly prefer windowed borderless but the mouse is a laggy mess in menus using it. I still have to confirm fullscreen and vsync fixes it though. At work so can't mess with it right now.

It's different now that heists are out. Now you'll be getting invites for Heist setups every 30 seconds. At least once everyone on PC reaches the level they can run those.

A lot of stuff you can do in GTA online starts off locked. You have to level up a bit and access all of the different mission givers and open world activities. There are cars to steal, Armored cars to rob, Air Drops to collect, targets to take out, gang hideouts to raid, stores to rob, among other less organized activities.

I mostly like doing missions and Heists, though a firefight in the open world can be fun from time to time.

Go online on your phone and go to a website that sells cars. legendarymotorsports.net is what you're looking for if you want some luxury stuff.

Has anyone bought the retail version? Does it also come with a download code? I know that's a weird question, but having to install from 7 discs is gonna take a while. I really just want it for collector's sake, otherwise I'd download it.

I'd like to know this as well. After work I'll be picking up my reserved physical copy due to Best Buys GCUL.

I believe this from the Rockstar support site confirms that we can download the game with the code included in the retail releases. I too am waiting on picking up my physical copy this evening so I can't confirm other than seeing that on their support site last night.

I wish there was a way to keep Action Replay on at all times. Seems certain things turn it off, like ending a mission or a cut scene. If I don't remember to keep turning it on I can miss awesome things :(

Also why can it only save about 1 minute? There should be an option to save up to a certain amount of disk space (which is what I thought that option meant instead of how much space is set aside for manually saved clips). It should auto save every minute up until an amount we set (then deleting the oldest clips) and allow us to lock certain clips.

I guess the closest alternative is to start recording when you start playing and allow it to fill up your allotted disk space before you manually delete it. Although I guess that also auto stops at cut scenes.

Game is amazing and this feature is incredible, these are minor (but frustrating) niggles.

Lol... GTA Online is the game. You'll find out soon enough. (Almost) Endless challenges, jobs, and some kick-ass heists. It's the best online game I've played in forever. Strap in. You're never leaving.

On GMG, I can get it for $46.79. Is it worth every dime? I own it for the PS3 when it came out and only played like... 20 hours of it? Or do you think I should wait for a half off sale?

Downloaded it at 10.8MB/s from steam whole thing done is just over an hour. Getting rock solid 1080p60fps on i74770k 3.5GHz Stock, 780ti 3GB and 16GB RAM with all settings maxed. It looks really nice but has some graphical glitches with detail shadows popping.

I'm just messing around since this is the 3rd time I own the game. Waiting on those mods thou.

What, so I just drive around waiting for a phone notification to give me a superfluous job to do?

Are there no lobbies for TDM, races, or anything like that?

either go to an icon on the map or open the online menu and select a job type from the job menu. It's pretty simple.

Your phone has a quick job tile. It will search for races, jobs, parachuting, everything. You can start your own jobs too, and invite friends or everyone in the city right now in your instance. You rank up, unlock more missions, heists. Earn money. Buy cars, jets, apartments. It never stops.

Edit: As posted above, you can travel to the icons too, although I wouldn't recommend that method. There are so many that there's no point. Use the phone.

It seems like it's not well explained, but it's because there's just too much. Golfing is so much fun, too. Make friends to play with if you don't have any. It's almost necessary since randoms are just terrible.

They clearly put a lot of effort into this. I'd say definitely go for it, especially if you didn't play it on PS4/XB1. It's magnificent.

Without question man. The single player alone is what I played on last gen (online straight up didn't work or would delete characters at launch) and must've put in almost above 80+ hours in single player. Over 1 day, 4 hours with Michael, 1 day 7 hours with Franklin, 1 day with Trevor etc. The story, coupled with all the strangers and freaks, random events and just screwing around would easily be worth it, especially if you've liked the games since GTA 3.

Online, because I never really got into it much, and sort of moved on, I can't say too much on. The races with others were extremely fun, and now there are online heists. I can easily see you playing with randoms and getting several more hours of enjoyment that way.

My GTA V won't launch at all (no error messages). Been trying to figure out what the problem is, tried a bunch of fixes. No luck so far.

Anyone have any ideas?
