2015 PC Screenshot Thread of the Only Place Where Compression Isn't

Real quick shot from me learning my way around the director mode \ clip editor. I didn't have time to do anything fancy. Gotta go to bed...

But yeah. It's pretty neat.

I really need to inject SMAA.

Ugh that aliasing, even at a pretty high res like that? Please tell me that CA is through some injector or photo mode. Looks nice otherwise.
I bought a physical copy, comes with 7 installation discs -_- this gonna take a while...

Those GTA V screenshots are pretty disappointing so far. Mafia 2 had better interiors.

Mafia 2 is also a fraction of the size of GTA 5. Tiny in comparison with a lot less to see and do. I think it's a fair trade off.

And I really do like Rockstar's implementation of CA in GTA 5, although the option to turn it off would be good. Is that shader aliasing or does the game have really poor normal AA?

Like I said, I need to inject SMAA. No other AA going on there.

That CA is not injected and there are no filters or effects being added. That is 100% the vanilla game there.

Some of you guys talk about CA a lot..are you referring to a distortion ? To be honest I can't even tell the difference in most of screens I've seen but then what do I know.

Can't say I'm blown away by those GTA screens but once it gets ICE'd we are in for a fucking treat.

"ICE" is.... ENB.

ENB is DX9 only. Unless you can somehow convince Borris otherwise, there will be no ENB for GTAV.

Nobody is bothering to take amazing screenshots because they're too busy playing the game =)

Oh I had no idea. Well that's a bummer then because GTAIV with ICE holds up well even today. No doubt everyone is busy playing it..I'm just jealous really :p

Is there any screenshot of a game properly implementing CA ?
I have to admit, i really like this effect, and i fail to see why people hate it so much :-/

Some people (like me) are sensitive to the effect.
It causes eye strain, headaches, etc...

I wish dev's would just give us a toggle if they plan to use it in their games.

I had to enlarge that image to 300% to actually see the CA you're referring to.
Seriously? I could see it clear as day on a 1080p display w.o. any zoom

I just don't understand why devs would want to take a particularly stunning image and then add red and green lines everywhere. Like that GTA screen i mentioned above? all of the non CA'd bits look just fantastic

Still a bit sad there is a big difference in sharpness / resolution of textures on even the same object like in this situation: the face is high-res but the shirt is lowres, making the overall picture look off (not your fault! ) Of course you can't have high-res textures on everything in a massive world, but with 59GB+ of data one would expect the textures would at least be above ps360 level across the board. (or am I expecting too much?)

Well, CA does add a tiny bit of depth and a mild organic feeling to otherwise sterile graphics, but it should be a toggleable option, like any other major post-processing effect.

Just looks like distortion on an otherwise clear image to me. May as well drop the resolution to hide the angular graphics.

Well, that's why I said it should be an option. Judging by your screenshots you're someone who clearly likes ultra clean visuals, so you should be able to decide to turn the effect off.

Sure, and I'm always in favor of more options.

I just hope there's a way to disable it by the time I get around to picking up the game.

I'm with you there, shirt is pretty bad for a main character. Maybe there's some better clothes?

Mmm..ok now I'm a believer. Nice.

Pretty much my final preset I've been working on these past few days. I completely changed the lighting as of my last efforts but I might need to take a bit of red out and add some yellow..

Dat filmic pass. It's super red don't you think? Like there's a red spotlight being turned on everything?

Yup that's what I was saying in my first post. Gotta take a bit of red out and add some yellow. Opinions and suggestions are always welcome..I love playing around with Reshade and strive to get the look I want just right. So thanks for your feedback bud.

It looks like a Dr. Pepper commercial. No that didn't make any sense but it's the first thing I thought of.

Hehe..no but that's funny.

Edit: It's not the filmic pass btw, my fogcolor settings are off under tonemapping.

The vanilla looks pretty good, way better than the mouseover

Seriously? I think it's horrible..like I'm watching a Saturday morning fucking cartoon. I prefer the darker but colorful noir look.. but hey each to his own.

Okay, I think I've almost nailed the look I'm after. My float settings which I don't normally play with were really off and I turned filmic pass down a few notches. Let me know what ya think. Cheers.

Seriously. What size is your 1080p display?
Also - the effect is so small that it is really had to see it because in most cases it looks like some kind of colored lines on white objects which can easily be there simply because they are there and not because of CA.

I'm also able to easily distinguish that CA on every single GTA V shot in here without any zoom whatsoever, on my 1080p monitor... Using a 27' monitor btw.
I think the devs did a decent job implementing CA to the game and didn't make it STRAIGHT IN-YO FACE like in Dying Light. The way CA looks while playing is fine and it doesn't annoy me at all. It's overall pretty subtle so I'm ok with it.
For screens, the toggle is always welcome.
