Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (PC/XB1/PS4) reveal trailer, screens, info, more [Read OP]

I hope people actually learned from buying Digital Deluxe Editions with Destiny

I enjoyed it, pour a 40 out for those that dropped a non-refundable $100 and didn't

I usually buy all the DLC anyways so it's a good investment for me. It's a bit strange, Normally it's 70 for the game, 50 for season pass.

Preordered on Amazon. Treyarch had a lot of time to work on this game and I am interested in seeing how the beta plays. The last COD to have a beta was 4 and that turned out amazing. We'll see.

Also, if no Nuke Town, the preorder cancelled.

The only time I ever pre-ordered AND bought season pass was with AW (digital pro$100). I got burned deep. Scarred.

Never again.

Do digital preorders also get access to the beta? Just making sure.

Looks like it, yes.

Hmm, link didn't work for me.

If TehGoomba's link didn't work for you, you could try this one?

Next CoD is from IW.

So it'll be in present day using assets from Ghosts.

LOL. Watched one of the linked videos from one of the youtubers. I'm going to try to quote exactly:

"there's a killstreak called the wraith which is like the stealth chopper from Black Ops2. You guys are going to LOVE IT - it sounds EXACTLY the same as it did in Black Ops 2. It's awesome". 3 years later.

Rehashing sound effects. We need to hear the explosive sound effects as well. If I'm not mistaken Sledgehammer took them from Black ops 2 as well.

After watching the reveal trailer again, listening to a few more impression vids and thinking about it over night, my hype meter has been on one heck of a roller coaster ride lol

Read a preview of some of the kill streaks that were available and glad to see they're more like Blops 2 and less like AW/Ghosts. I do wish the game's visuals were atleast on par with AW, but right now my copy of AW is sitting on a Bestbuy trade in shelf, while Blops 2 is still getting action, so graphics definitely aren't everything. Overall I trust Treyarch to make a really fun game. I might even go for digital season pass edition if the beta is really good. I never felt buyers remorse with Blops 2 season pass, so it's a pretty safe bet, imo.

Hype meter: 7.5

are you expecting them to redo helicopter and explosion sounds between every release?

Of course I am. Why in the world wouldn't I expect new sound effects? We're in the future no? Different machines built out of different materials produce different sounds. Do you want same voice overs/expressions as well?

The audio/sound effects of the game are probably more important to the overall immersion of the game than the visuals. It needs to be NEW for every NEW release. This is why so many people feel CoD is recycled.

Firstly, I don't believe this is truly current gen only. Not only does it look worse than cross-gen Advanced Warfare, but Activision is being cagey on last gen.

Rather than denying they could be coming, they leave it possible which means this has been developed cross gen with Activision weighing whether the costs of adapting to last gen restrictions and the bad stigma hardcore players have toward cross gen this far into 2015, is too high of a sacrifice to make for this game. Thus they are gauging response to current gen announcement while they see how much benefit there is in letting Treyarch push current gen and see the price and viability of a last gen version.

There's nothing to weigh, contracting a third party studio to handle a port during the final months of development doesn't affect the design or quality of what the primary studio produces in any tangible way as it occurs after a game is effectively made and ready to be ported. There are budgets for ports as well that are separate from the primary studio's budget, not that such a thing is even relevant in the case of COD. The reaction seen on this forum in response to a conjured up rumor that there would be no 360/PS3 port was laughable for this reason - it encapsulates the ignorance of elitist gamers who feel disenfranchised because their favorite series, platform, or developer is, they feel, being "held back" due to the mere existence and continued support of hardware older than their own.

Alright placed a preorder for the PC physical copy so I can get a beta code. Gonna try it and then cancel my order to see how it is.

How does Amazon give out Beta codes? Is it via another email, or what?

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
That was close, how the feck did i forget between yesterday and today?

Anyway, i hope they have more zombie missions.

I want normal wave zombies in addition to this 'campaign', that keeps going around that we haven't seen anything of yet

They give you a registration code then you follow the instructions they give you to input it into an activison ID then you wait until the beta starts and activison should send you an email

Is the beta unlimited?
Or will the only give out a limited number of codes?

And do you get code immediately?

The fine print on the COD site says "Limited time only, while Beta codes last, at participating retailers", so it sounds like there's a limited numbers of codes. People have been getting their codes within 48 hours after preordering, but the beta won't be until sometime after E3.

I usually buy the retail copy, and play it for a few months. If I like the base game enough by the time the first DLC pass comes out, I'll get the season pass.

I'm trying to convince my friends to pick this on PS4 instead of Xbox One. Does anyone know how Best Buy pre-orders work? Do I need to pay for the full price or can I put 5 dollars down? I just received a $5 discount code for BestBuy that expires in the next week.

$5 is the minimum deposit, so you are good. I am pretty sure that discount can be used, since it goes towards the cost of the game.

I think this might be another case when beta codes are limited (like Titanfall), but when the demand is so huge for it, they just make the beta free for everyone eventually. We'll see.

If you need cannon-fodder to help convince them, the game is confirmed 1080p 60fps on PS4 but they've declined comment on the Xbox One resolution, so you could argue it's possible the game will end up being 900p upscaled/similar on XB1.

Can you preorder on Bestbuy and get the beta code, and they don't charge the credit card until it ships right ? has anyone preordered through Bestbuy yet ?

If you preorder online I'm pretty sure they'll put a hold on your card for the full amount and then clear it. Then you will be charged the full amount when it ships/arrives at the store(for in-store pickup). If you preorder in store all you need is five dollars and then the rest when you go to pick it up.

Gonna pass this year ....the last 3 CoD been weak as hell ....all these futuristic stuff is lame as hell ...go back to MW & MW2 style ...
