Earlier today faught some ermac who had 200/19 or some record like that.All he did was trying to exploit the glitch for infinite xray. Needless to say he pulled his Ethernet cable right when I did a Fatality on him. I don't waste time with fatality but this guy I had to lol.

The Neutral Jump Punch after the Shocker grab has fairly strict timing.

This combo is easier to pull off in the corner due to less push back after doing the Shocker, however it can be pulled off at any range as demonstrated in the video.

Hope any Raiden user finds it useful.

Had a match against a pretty good Kitana went down to the 3rd round. Near the end I had the most butt clenching moment where I jumped over him just as he did a wakeup x-ray and he glanced me but didn't fully connect. Managed to put him down but boy... for a second there.

So is there a fighting game that exists which not only has decent lag free connection regularly but also a matchmaking that's worth a damn.

I have huge nostalgia for fighting games as they were my fav genere as a kid. Hours and hours spent playing SF MK DOA Tekken etc. However once I finished education and the friends I played with moved away I kinda stopped playing them. Now and then my nostalgia gets the best of me and I buy a new fighting game and when I try the online its he same shit each time. Almost always lag and none of them seem to be able to match you with people of a similar skill / experience level.

I played about 15 games online total. About 7 normal and the rest ranked.

In ranked you don't even get the chance to decline if its a bad connection (always at best only 2 yellow bars) and every fight but 2 (both in unranked) its people with vastly more experience than me and amazing win/loss ratios and a win % of 2-5% lol. The 2 games against people with similar stats I actually beat. The rest basically destroyed me. Sometimes with juggle combos where I don't think I touched the ground the entire fight.

Now I don't mind losing and one dude I played 3 times just for fun and actually beat him one round but why do these games have trouble matching people of similar abilities?

Is it because I'm in the UK?
Is it just that most people who play these games are very experienced so there aren't many people of a lower skill level to pair me with?

I also still can't understand how people play these games with lag. Makes combo breaking really hard and even inputting combos and moves get screwed over by it.

Luckily MK has a great single player side and I can play that to quench my nostalgia. However I imagine my quest for a fighter that I feel actually works online will never be complete.

Just want to be able to put some music on, play some matches where I have around a 50-50 chance and chill. I have a feeling its never gonna happen.

Tekken Tag 2 and Killer Instinct both are fantastic online. I don't really get why NRS is so lazy when it comes to the matchmaking and just the whole online experience. Ranked as a whole is pointless if people aren't getting matched up properly, it's just a weird whoever wins the most is higher ranked which is kind of dumb. It needs actual ranks or something.

When I could get a ranked game it would generally match me up with similar lower leveled players. Made the 10 wins in a row quite easy as spammers did not know how to deal with Kano.

Next I'll try to play a KOH match without actually being disconnected.

On PC, I just use Shadowplay. It's pretty handy, and captures fairly high quality stuff without much of any noticeable performance hit.

Guilty Gear Xrd, Blazblue, and Skullgirls have great connections.

Is it because of the engine? If so, that is a limitation they couldn't really do a whole lot about.

Is too bad I have 0 affection for Tekken anymore.

Favourite fighting game was Soul Calibur 4 - I found the online for that really good.

I don't think guilty gear xrd even came out over here. Which is a shame as I think that kinda looked OK. The other two I don't think I would like as much. Also only have ps4 I would play them on.

I'll prob just have to only cable in the online now and then and just play the single player stuff. Its the big advantage In MK9 AND MKX. Lots of single player content. Street fighter is my fav series but the single player is terribly dull.

Killer Instinct is the best choice as for netcode/matchmaking

I keep trying to play ranked on this game but it's still 1 lagfree match out of 10 unplayable ones

So I picked up the Kombat Pack but I'm actually not sure if it's registered that I have it.

I had to unlock Shinnok in the story, as far as I can tell I don't have any of the Samurai skins for Kenshi/Kitana etc...

Are these costume packs not unlocked from the start once you get the Kombat Pack? I mean, PSN says I downloaded it and I have a receipt in my inbox, but I don't see an option to download anything.
