What's up with the text being REALLY tiny for minor conversations or reading art descriptions during battle? I mean we're talking like Dead Rising on a 480p small. I'm playing it on a 50" tv but I have to sit up and lean in and squint to read some of this stuff. It's just so weird that they thought this was ok.

Otherwise a couple of hours in and liking it. Feels really, really Star Ocean with a sprinkle of Xenosaga and hardly anything like Xenoblade outside of the combat system. I'm ok with something different though, otherwise you get the "more of the same" feeling. Plus it's still really early in a massive game so who knows where it goes from here! Pretty excited.

The alternative is to have your HUD completely obscured with text...

Well for conversations that you walk by, they could be larger and actually readable no problem. I'll give you that the screen is crowded during battle.

With so many HUD options, I'm kind of surprised there isn't a text size one.

Impatience got the best of me.
Just imported Wii U and XenobladeX.
You fought the good fight, now listen to this to get your hype going ~

I wonder if they will fix that on the localization.

The other oddball design decision that I hope is fixed for localization is that the game is....2.0 stereo. An epic big game in 2015 and Wii U supports 5.1 surround sound no problem and other games like Bayo 2 have surround sound. It's fine, just weird.

This is the first ive ever heard this mentioned. Thanks for bringing it up.

I have an in-progress list of them(or at least the ones the avatar can select) in the thing I'm working on here.
That google doc is super useful! Thanks for sharing it.
I can't read the tiny ass kanji on the gamepad (and even if it were bigger I'd probably not recognize them) so this sheet helped me learn what effects all the arts have :D.

While I agree that some ui text is really tiny, I have no problems with reading it while sitting ~4 meters away from my 45" TV :p

We've seen in that the character creator let you choose different skin color and for once a player dared to try an original color ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The beginning few hours of the game seem to intentionally be largely simple quests to get people familiarized with mechanics and the general overlay of the outer world. Once you get your Doll/Skell, as CAW noted, the game somewhat explodes in your/all over your face in terms of the exportability elements which is a huge underpinning of the game in and of itself.

Dat sunset

Ooh la la. Be sure to keep em coming throughout your playthrough. They help keep my hype meter high and healthy :)

If you're in any area other the Primordia though, just link to it since some people have stated that they consider them spoilers.

Yeah, the tiny text can be really annoying sometimes. I've got great vision and am playing on a 47" TV, but sometimes it can be small (probably because the game isn't native 1080p).

A lot of it is downright illegible when playing on the Gamepad.

There seems to be a bit of a grind in between chapter 3 and chapter 4... Either I'm approaching it wrong, or it's taking what feels like way longer than it should to unlock the conditions to proceed to the next story bit.

Another annoyance: not being able to freely rearrange your party from anywhere in town. You actually need to seek out the party member you want to add in town manually to get them in your party. It's a bit frustrating.

Just finished Chapter 3, I feel like this is the point from which the game will really start to differentiate itself from Xenoblade, especially in terms of progression.

As for the cafe quest:

Latte you can't just keep breaking stuff. I know we're all pretending it's fine that you've broken like a thousand coffee machines/fridges/whatevers, but you're 25 and Earth is destroyed; you've got to get your shit together.

Oh, someone asked for a link to a pic of the Overeds in the Enemy Encyclopedia. Here you can see that it shows you how many players have beaten them vs. been defeated by them in the lower box on the left hand side.

Spoiler Alert: this is an image of an Overed you fight in an early compulsory story mission, you have been warned! https://copy.com/0kxqh1jnpzzeYgNO

hmm...wanna give a midnight update on that number? :p

Thanks everyone for the tips regarding uploading via browser, you can expect way more sshots from me now:

I love my Dolls. <3

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, be sure to post some of your shots in this thread if you get the chance. It's always nice to see shots from a game not even released in the west yet in it. I've seen Yakuza Zero and Fatal Frame 5 shots posted there as well.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=996617

It's three shots per post and no double posting so choose your shots wisely :)

Thanks, will bear this in mind. I hooked up my game capture yesterday so can get 1080 screens no problem, was concerned about posting stuff here that may be considered to spoiler-laden.

Guys, guys, guys.

I really, really loved the original Xenoblade, and Xenogears is one of my all time favorite games. Can you please tell me that this game is a perfect blend of the two? Those mech images are giving me some serious flashbacks to the wonder of XG.

I always wanted an open-world JRPG game that did what XG did best.

I need to up my 調査率 to 15% before I can continue the story. What kind of stuff affects this percentage? Is it planting data probes or does it go up by exploring and discovering landmarks as well?

Wow at all those "casual" outfits.

The potential to forgot the main story and spend countless hours just to play Fashioblade is too strong rn...

Only based on what I hear, its basically that yes, aleast by gameplay standards, the story people say is takahashi the gears kind and not exactly the saga kind altho thats there aswell.

Only clearing segments iirc, so probes etc. Simply exploring does nothing.

Yeah, the first time is alright. But going and finding people the 10th, 20th time? That could be annoying. Slightly weird decision for a game that stream lines a lot of potentially tedious tasks.

On one hand, it's sort of interesting just because it enforces the fact that these are unique people living their lives, not just drones twiddling their thumbs back at base, but there should be some sort of central com that lets you add anyone you want to your party. Maybe in a patch they'll implement it.

Ah, that's what I thought -- and feared :p. For some reason I can't find the Frontier Net Spot that's north and slightly to the left of NLA. It's driving me nuts. And for other FN Spots I found my Field Level was too low! Arghh

Back to finding other FN Spots then. Thanks for clearing it up btw.

In that aspect, it is nice, but I would much prefer being able to call people up instead of running around NLA to find them and see them incidentally around when not travelling with me.

On a completely unrelated note, shirtless Guin is my jam.

Get the Mechanical Field Skill to 4 (max) asap. The rest aren't that important.

Music stuff:
Manon Ship (dunno if people are sensitive to this, but better safe than sorry) theme is oddly nice. Day and Night.

Also Don't Worry seems to have the full version now. That channel also has other songs up.
