Seeing the same discussion on 3 different threads, so I thought we should have a dedicated one for it. So what's the verdict, GAF?

UPDATE:
If you want to see the difference in frame rate from one version to another, we switch from x1 to ps4 during our live stream at around 16 minutes here:

Not the best comparison since the stream was 30 fps, but it's still quite noticeable.

visually identical minus the variable resolution on xbox one, but framerate wise PS4 is much much better even it is not great itself.also I can tell a lot of the problem with xbox one is microstutter, like the framepacing is off..moreso than actual framedrops.
This doesn't include the day one patch, right?

It includes the latest patch there is right now, ver 1.01

Oh boy, so much for the dynamic resolution meaning better framerate.

I await DF verdict.

you know it is perfectly fine to make judgements yourself when you have very high quality footage available to you of the same instances in the game. DF should only confirm things that you already can see here...but if your not sensitive to it then I get it.

Am I the only one who really struggles with the splitscreen view? My eyes just can't handle it, and it makes it way harder to judge finer details. That said, they both looked fine in that video.

Is this actually game play directly from the game? Or from comparing videos that has been video capture from the game? No idea if that will really matters but its could be something to consider..

Couldn't notice anything other than the fantastic music. Was looking for some blurriness due to the resolution differences, but the dynamic solution seems to be working well on X1. Will be interesting to see if this holds true in towns.

Xbox One looks slightly blurry given the sub-native resolution. Other than that, asset wise, I do not see any difference.

huh? they are captures directly from each version of the game taken in the same manner put side by side. the only proper way to do a comparison.

Whats up with the lighting differences on the foreground package at 15 seconds? Looks like the shadow of the tree swings and covers it but hard to tell

Both arent solid 30fps, but the XO seems to stutter constantly

ps3ud0 8)

Do we know what resolution each version runs at?

PS4 1080p

XONE 900-1080p dynamic scaling of the native resolution.

beaten of course.

It looks like there is less lighting on the xbone.

there's no such thing as less lighting, there is only different lighting. The game is open world with real time lighting changes.. at any point in time there can be slightly different lighting conditions and shadow placements, in the same way that any one version of the game will have different lighting one minute to the next.

Yeah it looks dumb should have made side by side or something ..

Apart from some blurriness, I noticed framedrops on Xbone half but DF/NZG measurements are needed for full assessment.

I assume it would be worse considering the Xbox was supposed to originally be 900p. They are pushing it to 1080p in certain situations which may affect frame rate I'd assume.

XB1 looks a tad bit blurrier but that's all I could make out. Not a fan of the style of comparison employed in this video (the left to right).

They are only pushing it to 1080p in situations where it can actually handle it, so the framedrops that can be seen are, I assume, happening at 900p.

The only things I can tell is that PS4 looks very slightly darker in the opening shot and how the shadows are in different places in various parts of the video (probably having to do with those "lighting differences" mentioned in the Gamersyde post).

Look at the ground

XB1 Geralt is in shadow PS4 he isn't

If you can't tell the difference, then there is effectively no difference. It doesn't really matter if Digital Foundry can find a 3% discrepancy or whatever
