I was wondering what "Fuel Studios" was on EA's job page with things that sounded like a Need For Speed team.

Agreed, I miss the story (regardless of how terrible), and the FMV just added to the awesome cheesy "Fast & Furious B-movie ripoff" vibe.
Highly looking forward to this if it turns out to be Underground.

The Creative Director on Rivals was Craig Sullivan, who directed Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit. Ghost Games UK is Criterion.

First let's start by saying I love need for speed underground ..
So in short hell yeah I want it and want it now
But my only "problem" with all of this is e3 is 3 weeks away why not save the reveal for it it would be something that would create buzz and talk around each press ..
I donno maybe its just me but feels like it takes away from e3 by telling us its coming 2 weeks before e3 even if we all know its coming

I'm going to keep my hype in check and not expect it to be good until it's out. There's only like a 40% chance NFS games are great based on history.
Most Wanted was one of the best in the series, and the modern namesake is among the weaker entries. Ghost last game, Rivals, was "Eh, it's alright" at best. There's a very high chance this won't live up to expectations brought on by the Underground label.

- Customization... lots of it (Underground 2 level of customization)
- I don't mind if it's open world but I do want to be well designed tracks (UG or MW1 level of well designed)
- Good music (pls)
- Stupid story, I need it! (UG or MW1 level of cliché story)
- Online.... meh (I would not mind if it's not in the game, but since it's an EA game it's probably going to have so sort of online mode)

Well yeah creative director. That doesnt say shit. Rivals was hot garbage compared to Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit.
If Ghost Games UK mostly worked on Rivals as well then I dont have a lot of faith left in the studio I guess.
I would really like if it has original Underground 1 and 2 controls. Can't stand the handling in the newer NFS games.
Would also really like to have the original (Mountain) Drift, Drag, Street-X and Underground races back.

I just don't see how someone could like MW and HP but not Rivals. They're all pretty similar mechanically with the main difference coming down to the world design. That's the main reason why I still like HP most. Although I think Rivals is the second be among the recent NFS games.

Ugh... The Fast and the Furious inspiration that spawned the direction they went with the Underground games was the worst thing to happen to the NFS series.
