Tried it before. Everything's fine and dandy until someone starts a hype train. Things go downhill quickly from there. At least we're having discussion here instead of mindless 'I'd like a ticket for the train!' posts.
Separate threads are just people patting their favorite company on the back and posting train pictures over and over and over and over. I would take list wars (which have barely happened if at all) over that.
Well, to each his own, I guess. One of the reasons I loved the PSX thread was because of the hype train and jokes. And unlike most people from that thread, I wasn't disappointed.

I like it like this.

We have the Sony TLG, FF7, Agent, Crash etc circle jerk. Followed by good healthy dose of MS is going to be bring it. Few come in and say that they are oddly excited about EA and SE. Then someone mentions Nintendo, followed by couple of posts for Star Fox and Metriod, and people stare at each other awkwardly. Then we go back to circle jerk and cycle repeats.

Besides we would miss out on hilarious gaming_noob's switcheroo from "MS is quiet, they must be confident" to "MS is vocal on Twitter, they must be confident".
Well, good point. But we don't get any of those Sony GIF's here, if you know which ones I'm referring to.

Ok, to sidestep the AAA definitions for a bit.

What three indie games are gaffers looking forward to getting info the most for E3?

For me its Rime, Inside (don't own an Xbone-I hope this is timed!) and NMS.

The Witness
Below
Wild

If we only get a Witness release date I'll be happy.

Pls someone give me Persona 5 hype in a nutshell, that gif just gave me a headache.

The games have

Great Stories
AMAZING Soundtracks
Great Characters
Good Combat
and some juju way in getting you immersed in the game. P4G took me just over 80 hours to beat but that went by in the blink of an eye.

The only bad aspect of the games i can think of is bland dungeon design which P5 seems to be rectifying.
Ive only played P3 and P4 so theres that.

Listen for an hour straight and let all be consumed!

Just play P4G.

Persona 4 is considered by many as one of the best JRPGs/games ever created. Persona 5 looks like it is going above and beyond Persona 4 in just about every manner. So the sequel to one of the best games ever.

God it's like a bloody card game, nobody knows anybody else' hand. Having no leaks this time around is great, the hype is palpable this time, unlike last year, what a mess.

I probably won't play Persona 4 as I have no way to play it but I guess I'll just flick on my hype switch for Persona 5, I kinda cringe at the storytelling in most Japanese games but if you guys are saying it's the dog's knackers then I guess I'll give it a go. GAF hasn't failed me yet.

Just bought FF Tactics for Android... Damn...
Couldn't resist even 1 second seen it.

Things like these appeal to my heart.

I too didn't played even one Persona game.
Was wondering where to start.

Not so much a prediction because everyone knows CoD will be shown, but just got word my buddy at Treyarch is showing off his level at E3! Can't wait to see what he's been working on.

Hopefully it goes better than his last company's E3 demo..

What makes you cringe, in particular?

The Persona franchise isn't one that shies away from its Japanese roots. It embraces it, and instead, focus on delivering a very personal experience, one that's unapologetically Japanese, but never feels like they're just that on a superficial level.

Jeez, I was so hyped for E3, but since Sony announced The Nathan Drake Collection, there is nothing. No hype at all.
If anything, Sony announcing the Uncharted Collection and release date of Until Dawn before E3 might mean that there's more in store for E3. Hopefully...

lol What? How would announcing something before E3 kill your hype for it?

Yeah, wouldn't that increase the hype? Some were expecting Sony to roll Uncharted out as one of their big E3 announcements, but instead it turned out to be one that they announced more than a week before the conference.

I don't get this; the chance they will announce a few products that are way more exciting than the collection is huge.

Are we treating Bloodborne as a 1st party exclusive? It was published by Sony.

Sony also owns the IP and Sony Japan worked in tangent with From Software (apparently) to develop the game. Yes, it's first party. Just as a comparison, think of Killer Instinct in which Microsoft owns the IP, and works with the developer (Double Helix/Iron Galacy) to make content for it.

Why wouldn't The Order count? I'd say its selling power is probably above the others you cited there.

Bloodborne blasted passed The Order: 1886 outselling it soundly per NPDs and Sony's announcement of Bloodborne selling over a million within two weeks.

Rime isn't indie.

Probably Cuphead, Below and NMS for me.

Indeed, Sony owns Rime. Similar situation to Journey, Flower, Ori, etc where a big publisher owns the IP. I can see why people would still consider it "indie", even if it's first party owned.

The three indie games I'm looking forward to (discounting Rime - can't wait for it, but I won't consider it indie):

Salt & Sanctuary (Casoulvania!)
FarflungDimwittedDuiker.gif

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Cosmic Star Heroine (couldn't find a gif)

1. No Man's Sky
2. Galak-Z
3. The Witness

I really hope we get release dates for all three of them.

Wow... I just remembered about Below. I can't believe that hasn't come out yet.

You lost all hype because they announced a remasterd collection before e3 instead of at e3?

Jeez.

Remasters are all they have and UC was their biggest one, so he isn't wrong probably.
