Giant Bomb #14 | I'll Never Forget This!

This IKEA furniture building sim doesn't seem very good. I mean the QL was funny but didn't make me want to play the game.

It just seems to move way too slow for what it's trying to be. Needs something to make it more hectic. Faster rotation speed and a time limit maybe.

Once Fallout 4 was announced, I was at 1 out of 3 of possible announcements I wanted out of this E3.

Now I just need a Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster and KOTOR 3.

I know I'm not getting KOTOR3 :(

I'd even settle for Bully or RDR 2 at this point. An RDR on the PC would be amazing.

I know in the UK there are multiple companies that exist solely to come and build your flatpack furniture for you

what a world

I think that is more about people being lazy than any perceived difficulty. You can pay for someone to come and plug your new TV in for you too.

Any OSX/Alfred users here? I made a small script to load the GB live stream into VLC with one click. If there's no current stream, the latest archive will load. It's inspired by a similar Twitch script I found and ended up using quite a lot. Wanted to have this handy for the E3 streams.

If you want a copy, shoot me a PM on the site (same name).

Witcher 3 and Bloodborne and a few others have really been the thing pushing me to build a PC.

Because holy fuck these load times are unacceptable.

Yes, build one. These current gen consoles seem like ass tbh. Always play everything on PC when you have the chance.

If you need help with that, let me know your price range and particulars and I'll see what I can find.

For what it's worth, the GTX 960 is an amazing little card.

Yo, Bloodborne isn't on PC, just in case that was something you were looking forward to.

saying that Bloodborne is pushing you to build a PC is like saying I can't wait to get a PS4 to play DOTA2

Here I made an easy to read version on what the major issue with the consoles is.

A fellow GAF user is selling a used EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0+ 2GB GDDR5 for $120.00

Good price?

I'd be upgrading from a GeForce GTX 560 Ti ...

I can hear megatons acoming. Soon.

you might be joking but i hope so given all this stuff being released before the show.....hopefully

Yeah, it's pretty crazy.

Bummed we won't get any discussion of the megatons on the Bombcast, but the Beastcast will be there to chat it up!

So good to have a Friday Morning Show/Podcast back.

I hope E3 has some good stuff but i'm highly skeptical, also yea that Monday recording time can be a boon for stuff like this (though to be fair i doubt Jeff could have said anything if those games were in his list)

It's the greater issue with how the consoles are born.

It becomes really obvious in The Witcher 3 above all others when you reload a save for a checkpoint.

Join PC. Experience what games are like when they actually run well instead of seeming like a crippled man with a stick up his arse trying to run a marathon.

That's a real solid price. I upgraded from a GTX 660 for what it's worth. I opted for the Strix version of the 960 because the fan is quiet even on load, but the stats should be the same. It ran me about $209.99, new.

Honestly, the performance stuff in general isn't really a problem for me. Outside of major culprits. Like I see GTA V and Witcher 3 and Dying Light, just some recent ones I've been messing with, and it's never the texture quality and rarely the framerate that bothers me.

It's the load times and the lack of digital sales. 100%. The fact that SSDs do little with the PS4 load times seems ridiculous because I can accept lower quality visuals than the top end stuff, but not a lot of the other concessions. I've got a so-so PC, but it's getting pretty outdated so I've been working on saving up for something new along with a replacement monitor for my first screen.

I still haven't looked into pairing my PS4 controller with my PC and how many games support it or not.

Alex retweeted this masterpiece and everyone should read it.

Anne sighed as she sat in her room, staring at her wall. She just finished writing in her diary, and had nothing to do. Life was boring in the Secret Annex, but it was better than the alternative. It was alright talking to Peter and Margot, but they were both such quiet people, unlike the always active Anne. All of a sudden, a flash of light appeared in the room! Anne jumped back, stifling a scream. Before she could run out the closed door she noticed that the person who appeared in the flash was not a Nazi officer, but someone who she had never seen before! He looked like a rodent and his hair was in a spiky style that was totally new to her. She stood against the wall, wary of the stranger, but he walked towards her and smiled, extending a hand. "My name is Sonic." The mysterious stranger said.

Why would I ever click 'Alex retweeted this' without checking the excerpt first? Alex hates everybody, why would I want to see something he wants everybody to see? I do foolish things sometimes.

no offense, but i really don`t like the idea of sonic being related to such serious and real themes

I've read about Anne Frank. & watched the movie. It's sad, yes, but this story shows what could've happened for the better, her not dieing and lots of Jews Living. Oh and i would've love to see the look on Hitlers face when Sonic turned ultra super,

I'm more concerned with the fact that Sonic is referred to as a "young person", he marries Anne Frank (a human) and the Priest announces them as "man and wife" when it's really "hedgehog and wife".

Alex is the best retweeter.

"Oh and i would've love to see the look on Hitlers face when Sonic turned ultra super," is my new favourite everything.

I can never, ever go back after having an SSD. Not just games, either. The whole system just runs so much better when the OS is on an SSD.

PS4 controllers work great, I've found, but some games will give you Xbox controller prompts. Witcher gives Xbox One prompts, which is the first game I've seen do that.

Given that Sonic goes full aryan blonde hair and all whenever he collects all of the rich jews' emeralds, i'd gather that Hitler would've gladly bent the knee for the hedgehog

I wonder how they'll handle this week's Beastcast. I imagine they'll be flying out Thursday/Friday. Will they record one a little earlier or will they wait it out and give us a BombxBeast supercast...

Isn't the Sealed Envelope episode normally the E3 Tuesday's Bombcast? That's why it's always so funny listening to them making wrong predictions after the press conferences are already over.

I have never understood why Sonic has attracted so much terrible fan art and fan fiction. It might be that it's just more visible than, say, Mario fan art and fan fiction, but still.

I posit that post Dreamcast and with a relative young age of fans, the SEGA fandom's collective meltdown created the splinter groups we know today. Many traveled to the Xbox, seen as the third contender. Others entered the internet, still in its infancy at the time, and clustered around each other gripping tight to the memories of what once was, and what could have been. These thoughts inevitably splintered off into original characters, incorporating personas of their creators into the Sonic universe--perhaps spurred on by the Archie series continual introduction of new species and multiverse-spanning storylines. This, in turn, led to the discovery that cross universe connections was not a one way street, especially with the Sonic Adventure series introducing humans to the sonic canon and the Sonic X cartoon series making Earth a central focus of events. If we could go there, Sonic could come here. Other games did not have such a strong, wayward fandom, nor a real means to inject oneself into a series, and thus did not spawn the following that Sonic has created.
