Out on IOS, not sure about Android
$9.99

Oh man, when Vita? With Bastion hitting PS4/Vita I was really hoping Transistor would hit it too. But I guess, since it would "have" to be crossbuy, there might not be any money in the port. I want to play Transistor so bad, but I'm glad it's hitting more platforms.

I don't know. I'm no business guy. Just a sad guy.

Hmm maybe they'll release on Vita sometime as well unless Bastion bombs on Vita (or will it be cross-buy?).

"hello?" "this is vagina"
Every game that skips a Vita port for mobile breaks my heart a little bit more.

No reason this game shouldn't work great on mobile with the pseudo turn based combat. Hope it does well there.

Not sure I'd want to play it on iPhone. 6 Plus, maybe. But I bet this plays really well on iPad.

Amazing game. I can definitely recommend this, especially for those who enjoyed Bastion. It's a very different game, but the production values, art style, music and writing are at the same (and in some aspects, better) quality.

Hope it comes to Android too, but I doubt it will. For those who haven't played it yet, it's definitely worth the price of admission. It's one of my favorite current gen games.

One of my best games last year, i own it on PC and PS4 so no need for a mobile version for me but I hope they find success in the mobile market.

I got this game for free on my PS4 but I have yet to beat it (or put more than 10 minutes into it). Just with so many other good games I find it hard to play this and a few others. Now that it is on mobile this will completely change things. Can't wait to upgrade my iPhone for a bigger screen.

Their games are artsy enough that I wouldn't be surprised if Apple were paying for exclusivity.
I can't find it atm but we had a thread recently about how despite Android making up the majority of phones and tablets, like 70-80% of revenue comes from iOS, so I don't think Apple would have to pay them anything.

They brought Bastion to chrome but not android, might do the same here I guess, as little sense it makes.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Its weird everyone else keep dissing mobile games, yet at the same time, all the vita fans are begging for them.

It's understandable. Stuff like this, GTA, Max Payne etc.. would all make perfect Vita games.

I'd advise those guys to buy an iOS device and a Hori iOS controller. Just give in.

Transistor is a native PC/console game. A mobile game to me is something like Threes or Superhexagon. Do you hear a lot of Vita fans begging for those?

As to why it isn't on Vita along with Bastion it's probably because of the common framework used for those games. Monogame doesn't have a Vita port yet iirc.

In my mind, when someone says "mobile" they usually are talking about smartphone. A ton of people diss on smartphone ports like GTA because having your thumbs cover large parts of the screen is annoying and hard to use.

Putting these games on portable consoles like Vita and 3DS would be so much better because of the physical controls.

I doubt that. The mobile games money is in iOS, simple as.

While that is true, or at least 3.5 times as much money, Apple does pay for exclusivity. Remember that "they brought a huge truckload of money" comment from that ea exec talking about appl and pvz2?

You can have physical controls on mobile. I use this and it's more comfortable than either handheld. In addition, the 3DS probably can't handle ports of mobile games as it's weaker than wet tissue.

I thought about that one case, but it was literally one case. It was also for a huge game and I don't think the exclusivity worked out terribly well for them.

Door Kickers, Prison Architect, Brothers, and This War of Mine are coming to mobile too, so you have a lot more quality indies coming soon

I don't think that sentiment was ever directed at games like Transistor. Obviously there are multiplatform games that can work well on mobile (some better than others). What no one is clamoring for is cheap knockoffs and f2p games.

Anyhow with controller support at least people can play some of the less suitable games on mobile as they were intended (if I'm not mistaken Bastion on mobile is autoaim on touch?)

By default but you can turn it off. Hate playing with autoaim.

But anyway, back to Transistor, the tap to move/aim controls translate really well to touch.

Awesome. Played through Bastion at least once on my iPad, and I suspect this can only be better. Always glad to support SuperGiant.

I thought that it in many ways was worse. Still ok, but really not that fun to play. Beat it in just under 4h, and haven't felt like going back.

I think the only lesson we can take from that case is that Apple absolutefuckinglutely does not want that kind of information out in public.

But yeah, android is nightmare for devs with much lower sales potential with or without apple paying for exclusivity.

Well, the Vita has buttons and eight hours of battery life. My phone has no buttons and playing a game on it drains the battery to the point of uselessness. Even if those were the only reasons, that would be enough.

That's why phones suck as a gaming device. iPad/iPad Mini is the ideal mobile device.

Well this is a console game. It's not really a straight "mobile game." As much as I love them, you don't really see too many people begging for ports of Device 6, 80 Days or Sorcery! to Vita (all of which are indeed true mobile designed games).

By better I guess I meant more the controls. Already played it on PC - I don't know if I liked it better than Bastion or not to be honest. They're probably close in my mind. I like dicking around with combinations and just listening to the soundtrack, but the story didn't work as well as Bastion.

Did this game do well for Supergiant? I barely heard about it after its release, honestly.

Wonderful game, I'm glad more people will have a chance to play it. Like others have mentioned, I'm disappointed that this doesn't look like its going to come to PSV but unfortunately I think we can expect a lot more of that in the future.

No, it really isn't. Someone needs to educate you on indies that have very intelligent ports on mobile. (Not me, I don't have the time/effort to make you not ignorant in the strictest sense.) Take a look at a best iOS game thread sometime.

Console to mobile ports and vice versa are very rare. PC and mobile are more closely related. You won't see Baldur's Gate, SpaceChem, or FTL on consoles or Vita, but you can play those on iPad. You see a lot of mobile games on PC (The Room, Out There, Tiny Thief, Jet Car Stunts, etc.) and a lot of PC games on mobile (This War of Mine, The Banner Saga, Papers Please, etc.).

I do recall people asking for games like Wayward Souls and Monument Valley on Vita though

Does anybody knows how this controls? Could be real intense for a touch screen.

This game is really good. I feel I alone create the best build of all time.

I feel like the game deserves to be played on a nice big screen though. It's from top to bottom one of the most beautiful games I've ever played

Checks to see if it has gamepad support, yup. It does. Shock and surprise.

You realize they make gamepads for phones with battery packs built in right? That or a simple case you can hot swap for power. I get through a eight hours of gaming if I wanted no problem, end it at 100% battery too, thanks to such things.
