Wonder if they are just planning the port for the XB1 or if it's gonna be PC/PS4 also. Game was fun on Wii U, be cool to see what new stuff they might add to the game or how they would deal with the many cool gamepad features that existed in Wii U version.

very fun game, I loved it on wii u. never did end up beating the survival mode, died super close to the end.

I'd probably double dip on PC if it releases there.

Cant see why they'd just go Xbox, would make more sense to bring it to everything, more chance of success so they can try to sell enough to make a sequel

Well then, This must be Tantalus's work, I think. :)

Yep, i'm pretty sure it is. Now i'm curious to see which game Tantalus is porting to the Wii U. Could it be the last Skylanders game, compatible with those Bowser and DK amiibo/skylanders figurines?

Heard lots of good things about this game. Was contemplating getting a Wii U for it a while back.

I will gladly purchase this on PC.

How? You hit L1 that puts you into "scan mode" with a pink filter and a reticle you can move with Right stick. The only difference is that instead of using the gyro to move the reticle you use the right stick.

I think they might have been talking about the sonar on the 2D map, not the 1st person scanning mode.
Edit: Actually no that was an earlier poster. IDK.

Hopefully they make melee a bit more fun. Got a bit boring after a while. Add a few more weapons or let us upgrade the cricket bat at least

As long as you can NOT see the gameplay while in inventory on XB1 its OK. so keep a button pressed to see inventory and it removes gameplay view, and when released or pressed again inventory goes away.

BUT if its a transparent inventory allowing you to see the gameplay view, EPIC MAJOR FAIL.

Having to look up and down IS what makes it what it is.

But there's nothing stopping me from simply holding the Gamepad up when checking the inventory to keep from having to look down like that. In that case, very little is different.

The scanning would be different, though, for sure. I just didn't care for how it worked in the first place, to be honest.

Could be wrong, but is Ubi expecting this to sell any better on XB1 than it did on Wii U? 3 year old port of a game with last-gen visuals and most of its uniqueness contained within a peripheral that the One doesn't have.

I don't understand the love for ZombiU
An actual survivor horror where almost all zombies are something that you might need to think before you attack them, not that action focused shit that the market is full of. It also looks nice and sounds nice, plays well with nice use of Wii U gamepad. There's some repeatative parts and reused assets and one part of the game sucks, but all in all, one of the best horror games IMO.

ZombiU was amazing as a launch title, greatest atmosphere and well thought out survival elements. I fear the translation will be lost on other consoles thanks to the second screen, especially in multiplayer. I'll see it out though.

Great, now everyone gets to see how bland and shitty the game is.

Edit: great for people who want this, of course. I bought it based on GAF hype earlier on and don't understand the love.

Stuff like this is why it didn't sell.

My opinion is more positive than that review, but then again so is the critical consensus. It got a 77 average, indicating a good but not stand-out game and comparable with most launch titles in other systems. That's about what I'd give it. I get that some people thought it was better than that, but I don't think this is absolutely out of the realm of what real players thought of the game. I'm not convinced the reviews did anything to harm the game's sales that the word of mouth wouldn't have.

From a previous argument about whether the big mean press beat up poor ZombiU, I recap the positions of people (generally Nintendo fans) who insist that this poor beautiful game was unfairly beaten up by the mean press and that ruined all of its sales

Yeah, sure, but in that case YOU are breaking the game IMHO.

Watch Wii U owners suddenly say "the game isn't that good anyway".

I think their were a vocal group of people that really enjoyed it, but that they weren't the majority.
I got the game with my Wii U and have tried to get into it a couple of times with no real success. I wouldn't say it's a bad game though, just not my taste.

Now watch IGN, Gamespot and other review sites give this game 7.5, 8 and call it "scary", with "really intense gameplay" and "fantastic use" of your smartglass etc. as your inventory. People will buy it now, because of good reviews and Ubisoft will finally release the sequel that is rumored to exist (in some way). But it will not come out on the Wii U...

Persecution complex from Nintendo fans over this title is hilarious. You'd swear reviews were in the low 30's they way they go on about it.

Now, looking at it in perspective the reviews were not that bad compared to current gen reviews. But this was at Wii U launch in a year where a game on PS360 would get an 8 just by being able to start it (just think of the AC III reviews). And this changed starting with Wii U and at that point it seemed unfair. Again, looking now back at it, the current gen reviews are very well balanced, including ZombiU's.

The Gamespot review of it still remains a WTF read.

They'll probably just put it in-game. Like the game pauses or something whenever you use something that was on the Gamepad and it displays it on screen.
That would kill the concept... At the very least, they should let the game run.

I really doubt that, since Vicarious Visions has a dedicated Nintendo team on their staff. Hell, before becoming a mainline Skylanders team, they used to be THE Nintendo team for many of Activision's titles.

IGN and GameSpot are the biggest 'names' in the business.
I think its fair to say that bad reviews from those outlets matter substantially more than good reviews from smaller outlets, in the same way if the New York Times trashes a novel it doesn't matter if Genre Fan Monthly loves it.

EDIT:
Note that this is nothing to do with whether the game deserved below average reviews. It is that when the two biggest gaming news and reviews sites on the internet both give a game below average scores, that game will not sell well.
Particularly a new IP that has no existing fanbase.

rofl.

I think they're saying the game was unfairly reviewed, but now everyone's gonna give it a thumbs up because the pay-for-review culture since the sequel is now from a major developer and on a "next-gen" system.

So seeing the reviewers change their views would be hilarious.

Well, the majority didn't bother to buy it. Hope this does hit other platforms so it can get the love it deserves.

But rather than a straight port, I'd hope they'd at least add some more melee weapons. Only having a cricket bat made no sense.
