The only way to properly do a Crash reboot is by somehow getting it away from Activision an then somehow getting Rubin and Gavin to come back to direct it.

Sorry I have no interest in an Activision created Crash reboot.

Agreed. If the Activision exclusive that Verendus has teased is an Activision published Crash game then I have no interest in it or faith it'll be good at all, just look at what they've done to poor Tony Hawk 5.

I really have told you all a bit too much.

Dreams isn't in there. I'm not even sure what genre you'd try to fit something like that in. It's not your traditional game in that sense.

I think that's me done then. You have enough to last you several years here with everything else.

And here I was hoping to ask you what the deal was with GenDesign. Whether they're going solo after TLG or sticking around as a Sony dev. I'm just hoping they're not lost to mobile games or worse, a publisher who'll ruin their games with their bullshit, like EA.

Well, seeing how FFXV has turned out, I think SCEJ/A is going to need a lot of good fortune to rival something like that.

Second place isn't too bad though. Also, I didn't say it would rival it, moreso that it's a title being made with an aim to appeal to a worldwide audience and is taking cues from FF on how to do that a little. Learn from the best and all that. I think that's a bit of a case of words evolving based on what others have said about what I said, rather than what I actually said.

Anyway, I think that's enough OT discussion for now. I'll let you all get back to talking about the Sony conference.
tks man...You should go celebrate, Sony earned a ton of good will this year. Phenomenal conference. I hope the company grows back to the 90's Sony and all of you guys get raises '-)

Seems like sony didn't offer the E3 press conference on PSN for download this year. Anyone know where I could download an HD version of it for posterity?

Verendus, apologies if you've already addressed this in this thread (or another), but any hope/possibility of Silent Hills being brought back from the dead somehow? Or any updates about the whole Konami debacle?

Here is his list:

JRPG #1
JRPG #2
JRPG #3
JRPG #4
JRPG #5
New Shadow Hearts
Final Fantasy spin-off RPG (World of Final Fantasy)
New SE console RPG IP
Final Fantasy X spin-off
FF7 spin-off
FF6 remake
Square Enix crossover game
New Parasite Eve
Monster Hunter PS4
DMC5
New Capcom TPS IP (Because we need more TPS)
New EA IP
New Ubisoft IP
New Prince of Persia
New Naval RPG
New Cyberpunk Action/Adventure/RPG IP
New Sega Action/Adventure IP
New Marvel Action/Adventure title
New Soul Calibur
New Rockstar IP

P.S: We only have one title confirmed btw
Not sure how to feel about the FFX spin-off. It could be absolute greatness or meh. I think I would prefer a spin off where it's a completely new cast, and you see the main crew here and there. Also an update Blitzball (maybe with some online 1v1/ 5v5).

While it's good that SE is bringing some of the FF magic back, I would prefer they focus on making FFXVI then remakes of games I've already played.

Exactly. They should stay away from the large currently practiced religions and stick to actual mythology. Egyptian and Norse are my picks.

To be fair the only real difference between Egyptian, Norse, Greek etc mythology and current religions is time.

Also, there's tons of games already in which you kill all sorts of gods.

Someone should make a summary or something. Is the big budget JRPG by Sony still a thing?

Edit: I'm blind, he talks about it in the last page.

My thoughts after reading back the last few pages.
- i dont think God of War will be the India game as it would be too offensive/controversial.
- TGS should be best one in recent memory
- Crash PS4 is an inevitability (though i thought this right after e3)

King Verendus, any thing okay with the PlayStation All-Stars sequel? I'm like the only guy in the world that REALLY enjoyed that game :(

Development of spin-offs have no influence on main-line FFs. Different teams/divisions or even studios, outside of a few exceptions like the Type-0 team being moved to FFXV or the Versus team being shifted to help on FFXIII/FFXIV, etc.. Don't worry, they're already working on FFXVI in some form, see Verendus' posts:
A lot of the FFs are a mash up in my eyes. Even IX which has the tone you're describing has airships and so on.

XVI will be the opposite of XIII though. It's not futuristic so you might get what you want with that.
Already on the way. The concept of it is also quite unique. It will certainly be something that hasn't been done before in Final Fantasy, if they manage to accomplish it. I'd put it in the back of your mind for now though, as I would personally expect FF15 and KH3 to be out before it.

Verendus tks for the PM buddy ;-)

Don't stay gone too long good man, exiting times ahead, wouldn't feel right to usher in this greatness without ya!

See, I kind of want the next God of War to be about Israelic / Judaistic mythology. You start as a humble warrior God, Yahweh, slowly and brutally killing off the rest of the gods of the Middle East until you're the last god standing.

omg, a new Prince of Persia game? Let's hope it's a sequel to '08's PoP.

I hope you enjoyed The Sands of Time! Hey; did you want to play The Sands of Time again? From the creative time behind The Sands of Time!

Isn't Asura's Wrath based on the Gods/characters from Indian mythology?

Um, how accurate/trustworthy is Verendus?

If he is "100 %", him confirming FF XII HD is a thing sounds pretty thread worthy to me. Or is this old news I somehow missed under my norwegian rock?

To my knowledge, he's as trustworthy as any insider we have on the forum. But he does always make a point of saying that projects are always in flux, things changed and they sometimes get cancelled before even being announced, so bear that in mind.

Verified to work for Sony. Probably the most knowledgeable insider here. He knows about almost any Sony studio's plans for the next 3-5 years. Not even Shu knew about the FFVII remake as early as him, haha:
“Of course I was very, very happy to see Final Fantasy VII actually being remade. So many people wanted it. I didn’t know about it until very late in the process, and when I came to rehearsals and saw the video I was like, ‘Oh my god!’.”

I can't see Rockstar taking a risk making an India-themed game. I think Red Dead Redemption 2 would be much more likely.
The most awesome eventuality would be if these were the same game. Northwest India in the very late 19th century could make an amazing "western" game: varying settlers and indigenes on the land, an intrusive cavalry in the British, early industrialized warfare, Sikh collaborators, drought and famine, the feeling of frontier.... Plus then you could have amazing changes of pace in mountains or lush lowlands.

Too bad that's not going to happen.

hey guys been searching for the past 2 hours but couldn't find anything.

On the conference there was a indie reel with some games, one of them was a retro, 16 bit pixel art, game with knights. also the sprites were big and detailed for a pixel sprite. Does anyone know whats the game and for which system?

I could not find any screen, or info regarding it, but maybe im not searching the right thing.

Here's the four Devolver Digital games from the conference, I think you're thinking of Eitr since it has really large sprites and she's got a sword and shield as one of the various weapons they show in the footage:

watwatwatwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
the only thing i don't give a shit about is ff10 spin-off
here's hoping dark cloud 3 is somewhere in that list

I'm feeling the same way but I would be paying attention if the spin-off involves Auron, my fave character from FF X. Perhaps a prequel detailing his adventures with Braska and Jecht?

Anyway, gotta hand it to Verendus. He really injects a lot of excitement with his teases. Looks like we're in for a fantastic generation if everything he listed actually gets made.
