Games you remember, names you don't

I don't know if this is allowed, but I'm looking for a specific harvest moon game - all I remember is that you can go up to a hill and see a really beautiful view which changes on special events and that it has a lovely orange sunset. I know it is a older Harvest Moon game, but no idea what console/title.

A classmate asked me for a game, figured I could ask here.
All he told me is that there were "big bubble(s)" that you "shoot" to make them split into smaller ones. I'm assuming the game should be 10-15 years old by now.

Sounds like Pang which was released in US arcades as Buster Bros.

Super Buster Bros? Used to play it on arcade as a kid.

I'm looking for the name of a simple early eighties shoot 'em up. I loved to play it in the arcade back then, and I was even able to find it on MAME about ten years ago, but alas I can't remember the name anymore.

You control an astronaut-like character who drifts in space. The gameplay consists of shooting down waves of enemies. Movement is rather limited (if I recall correctly you can only move up and down and turn (but not move) left and right).
After defeating a few waves, the message 'CAUTION!' pops up and two robots appear on the top and bottom of the screen and attack you. Defeat those, and it's on to the next wave.

As far as I know, there were no home computer/console ports.

Sky Lancer (1983)

Ps2 launch game, think it was a Streetfighter game, maybe. When you beat it and the credits rolled you fought three or four other guys, one of who got bigger and bigger every time he was knocked down.

Anyone know it?

I'm looking for two games, both sort of park / forest ranger like:

a) Surviving in cold, fighting of wolves, looking for supplies. Quite recent. I believe it was kickstarter. FPS.

b) A bit similar setup. The gameplay I saw was during spring time and instead of horror / survival it's more of a adventure or mystery I think. In the gameplay video the player is asked to inspect a nearby smoke and you find two girls swimming in forest lake. More recent than the first game.

The Long Dark and Firewatch.

There was a game on PS2, I think it was a japanese game that had you building towns/roads and stuff. It was 3D and you ran around building them instead of it being topdown. I can't remember much else about it, though.

this has been bugging the shit out of me, im trying to remember a game. It's a pirate game, and I remember it was bundled on an old XP computer as a free trial. I played it a bunch but never really got it. i think it was a compaq computer? it also had that polar bowler game where you play bowling with polar bears and stuff.
I think it was 2D? It has a cargo system and you can board and shoot enemy ships to take their stuff... and I remember one of the playable characters was a girl with red hair, I think.

Try Sid Meier's Pirates!: Live the Life, Port Royale 2, Corsairs: Conquest at Sea

This is going to be a hard one. It's an arcade I used to play as a kid. I don't remember much - it's a side-scroller, you control some kind of Jackie Chan expy dressed on a kung fu attire, the graphics were pretty detailed but SD-style, and I THINK it was set on a strange version of China. Perhaps you could shoot ki bursts a la Dragon Ball?

Turbo Grafx 16 / PC Engine's Jackie Chan Action Kung Fu?

I think it may have been an arcade game too.

Could be both actually! Jackie Chan rings a bell, but when I googled "Jackie Chan arcade" I always got results about JC Kung Fu Master. My memory is pretty hazy about it, and they sorta look similar.

I'll have to try them both to see if I can jog my brains :p Thanks guys!

HCG 101 has a whole feature on Jackie Chan games.

This is a picture there:

I have heard about Turbo Grafx 16 systems being integrated into "game rooms" in arcades that people could pay to play. I never experienced them personally, but Retronauts recently talked about them in the Bonk episode. I'd bet you good money that Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu was featured in one.

This is probably too vague, but I remember a browser based multiplayer game back around 1998-2000. It has a black background and a white grid with simple two dimensional pieces that moved around.

It was part of a collection of other multiplayer games.

That's... all I have..

Need the year, but take a look at Shao-lin's Road from Konami - when they were great :(

Indie game got announced. There was a space ship or a space station. Trailer showed some shots in the crew quarters. I think it was a murder rmystery but that could be COMPLETELY off. That's all I remember.

Announced some time between 2011 and 2015.

I just remembered a game I really liked way back.

It was a side scroller where you controlled one of two cops and I'm pretty sure the second level consisted of you jumping from truck to truck while they were driving.
The Rolling Thunder HG101 page made me remember it, but now the name...

And another one, very vague unfortunately. I would say it's a Rastan clone, well, a side scroller if you please, on Genesis. It had a pulpy flavor to it if I remember correctly.

First one sounds like Crime City. Second one.. Rastan Saga 2? Haha..

Trying to replay this old gba game I got as a kid but can't remember the name of it

It was top down like old gta games but it wasn't gta advance or gta2. It had a night setting there was like racing missions and stuff along with other things. That's all I remember any ideas?

Yeah, good guess ! It's totally Crime City. I had forgotten about the Cabal-esque levels too.

Blades of Vengeance?
blades-of-vengeance_3s.jpg

This one is a lot more vague in my head so I'm not even sure we can guess what it is. But it's not Blades of Vengeance. When I say Rastan clone it's more for the side scrolling thing, I have fuzzy memories of jungle and more modern characters, like some Indiana Jones. But at the same tim I can't rule out the possibility that there were swords.
But really I think forest, pulpy adventurer and easy as piss game that you had no problem to finish the first time around. Genesis for sure.

I think we can forget about this one as after a quick google Genesis search, everything was side scroller and nearly all games had forest levels ^_^ I would really have to dig deep into the catalog to find the game.

Another one which would be way more easy to find I think : one of the first Genesis games ! Side-scroller (heh), mystic tone with spirits and energy balls etc. The main character (a female ?) is wearing purple garments.

PC exclusive from maybe the early 2000s. It's either an action RPG or a straight action game. Its known for its combat, which looks somewhat similar to Dark Souls. The character wields a sword and can do quick sidesteps to dodge attacks. I think you can dismember people.

I am going to guess Severance - Blades of Darkness.

Which was also the first (and for a very long time only ?) game i saw casting accurate shadows of characters and environments for all dynamic lights in the scene.

I've been looking for this game for like 10 years maybe GAF can help. This is a game I remember when I was younger. I think it was a 2D sidescroller where you murdered people on a sidewalk or maybe on a train? I remember going into alleyways and buying upgrades. I also think you were young or at least pretty short. Maybe it was a bit cartoon-ey.

I played it on PC

Hi!

I can't remember the name of a game, but as soon as i see a pic it will click!

It's a game where you had to destroy planets, and i think they were generated randomly.
The game had some nice particle effects.

Help me GAF!

I'm looking for a game I played as a kid.(around 95-99) I don't know the pattform but I'm quite sure it was a console since I think I played it against my brother, but could be that I'm mixing it up with SF2 here.

Its a fighting games and all I really remember is that two characters were robots(or robot looking) and one was blue and the other one was red.
I think one of the maps was the roof of a tall building.

I'm guessing that it was Rise of the Robots or the sequel, Rise 2: Resurrection.

Rise of the Robots, as said is a good guess. Possibly One Must Fall also?

Educational game based on Greek mythology. I believe it was also a way of teaching math -- like the conflict scenarios were solved by answering simple arithmetic questions. It would have been on computers (DOS?) in the early 90s, maybe around 1992 or '93.

I can't for the life of me remember the name of this game and it has been bothering me for YEARS.
