Yeah, it would be nice to have one collective thread for these things. Would make it more organized to have everything at one place.
It is. You now get a message saying that its maintenance, so its probably schedueled. Those are the downtimes you want, hopefully things are getting fixed then. We dont want the random down times.I thought the monthly fee was so they could improve their service...

Because Predator is not an update he's an Ala cart add-on. Same with Witcher 3 add -on's. While they are free to DL (Kombat Pack purchase for Mk obviously) they are not automatic.

The store hasn't updated yet (for me in the US) so I can't buy it currently (PS+ vs. or no)

If anything, having one centralized thread for this stuff would make it easier for us to find info. Rather than running to GAF and posting up a new thread, we could each check into the existing thread and see what others are saying for verification. It'll make it much clearer.
While I get your overall point. I paid for XBL that saw outages and I see outages with my cable and internet service. Unfortunately this stuff isn't promised to work 100% of the time.
I know some people experience PSN outages more than others but I haven't been bothered by it much. I rarely see it down on my end unless it's a ddos attack.

This is a very good post.
Who says they aren't? The competition sees just as much downtime. You'd be amazed at how many on twitter complain Live or Steam is down.
It sounds like you need to chill out. If these threads bother you that much, don't click on them.

If you think they are not spending a dime on better infrastructure they you must have no clue how technology works. No service in the world is foolproof and their is always a possibly of hiccups. Software fails from time to time, hardware fails from time to time.
People have no clue how complicated it is to run a network like this. Add to this the the continuous increase of people using the service it's bound to happen.
We can only be patience and hope that they are working on resolving the issue asap so that we can go back to our hobby. In the meantime there is plenty of other viable entertainment alternatives.
But its not and its only certain people in certain areas
The last 3 reported outages haven't affected me at all.
My ps4 is online right now. The store is down however

My problem with these threads is they get flooded with drive by posts, with lots of confusion surrounding those of us trying to understand the situation. Having a single thread monitoring the service would be more efficient in the long run, especially when most times the service goes back up in quick order.

i do kind of wish there was a single thread though instead of someone creating a new thread every time they have an issue with XBL or PSN that might not be a universal issue
I rarely have problems with Live or Steam.....but darn if I want to download something on my Vita. It's even more annoying when I may want to play on PSNow with my PSTV...as I literally HAVE to have access to play on there.
I think they are, I've barely had issues with PSN. In fact I've noticed more and more issues with Xbox than any other service I've used in the last year.
I don't think they are that often at all.

If you can login and your game licenses can verify, then PSN is up. Certain features may not be available, but that should be specified.
I think the reason so many people are asking for an OT isn't because some "don't like seeing PSN down threads" but more along the lines of that there is a fresh thread for it already and we'd prefer to visit a tidy forum.

This is where I'm coming from as well. PSN is by no means perfect, but I haven't had issues with the service since the ddos attacks at Christmas.
Sucks if some people can't get to the store, but holy shit... give it an hour and try again. It's not a matter of life and death.

Paying for online services is for people who don't have a gaming PC. Better graphics, mods, and free online for the price of a PS4+1 year of PSN.
There is no reason to pay for Online. There are no exclusives worth a damn that require online (though this may change with halo 5)
In fact, if FFXIV required PSN I probably wouldn't have bought a PS4 at all. Lol. People who continue to pay fer this shit service month after month only justify Sony's crap. Lol
