I'm used to waiting for nearly every other time zone to see the show before me, so this isn't THAT strange to me :\

...As long as it moves to Saturday for everyone else next week :|

Okay I couldn't see the new episode tonight cuz apparently Dateline was super important. Can someone just tell me if last weeks dinner scene was a dream or what? I did not get the time jump.

Goddamnit :( All these reactions are killing me. I mean, it's not just that I have to wait another TWO DAYS to see this friggin' thing, but that it's apparently a perfect, fast-paced, incredible episode that many people have been waiting for.

Man. I feel the overwhelming majority of what I've heard is whining about how slow this season has been. Then, of course, I come in here and see those opinions punctuated by this incredibly positive reaction. I know Hannibal strings along its viewers, makes 'em wait, and confuses the hell outta 'em, but one thing it doesn't do is let down its audience. I don't mind some (bizarre) character development in my media. Hell, it's probably my favorite part of anything I watch. I love those slow moments because I never see them done this well. We all knew it'd pick up, but it just feels like people need explosive gratification every second. Even from an obvious art project like this series! I'd hoped by season 3 people would come to understand how things fall together in time, but, bleh. Rarely do I see such thoughtful television the way Bryan does thoughtful television. I wish it wasn't ending :(

Anyway. Sorry for the rant :(

Basically. Preferably there should be a (slow) build; otherwise, there's a lot less to that satisfaction.

I actually loved the first and the second seasons, and I was exciting for this one.

this season so far is much less fun to me.

I agree with all of this. I was never bothered by S3's slower episodes, partly because I enjoyed them on their own merits, but also because I knew there was no way Hannibal would let its viewers down when the story arcs approached their endgame. There's no precedent for a disappointing conclusion in the show's history. Also, S3 is Fuller's opportunity to adapt the really juicy stuff from the books (aside from the whole Clarice thing). Fuller has said in interviews that the show's imagery was leading up to the Red Dragon material, where he wanted to go all out with the ornate visuals for Dolarhyde's transformation. He had a plan, and now it's unfolding. There was no need to worry.

I wonder how the conversation between Hannibal and Will is going to be next (?) episode. Will Graham in Red Dragon fears and despises Hannibal Lecter, which really shows when they get face-to-face, while Will in the show still seems madly in love with Hannibal.

Well, that was nerve-wracking, scary and disgusting, funny and heartbreaking. I loved every second of it. I adore the season, no matter what people say.

I agree that that episode would make a fine series finale, and it's fitting given that "Digestivo" as a word has that sort of finality to it. That is, after all, the last episode with food-related title to it.

Finally this season reached the quality of the first two seasons.

This episode, obviously, is the best of the current season. The episode is going somewhere and you know it's going somewhere and where it is going. It's not aimless, it's focused. Characters have clear motivations and reasons for doing what they do. Fuller's newfound extreeeeeeeeme artsy-fartsy bullshit is kept to a minimum. Superb pacing, everything moves with the quickness. Shit actually happens. It no longer feels like you're watching paint dry.

In short, this episode is everything the previous ones in the season aren't.

Oh and the creep factor this season reached its zenith.

Now that was the Hannibal I've been missing these past six episodes.

Incredible episode, simply incredible. Nicely paced, so many twists and turns. It was just amazing.

Verger is one seriously fucked up guy. I mean, seriously. What the fuck. WHAT THE FUCK.

I...I don't even know what to say about the rest. I can't find the words to properly describe my feelings...so many emotions.

I do think NBC should be generous enough to at least out the episodes On Demand on Thursdays. They've already killed the show so why torture fans any more than they already have?

I really want to see the series continue on Netflix and not network TV.

This show is too good for it to die now or get picked up by another network to then be abandoned again.

I really envy you right now CanadaGAF, the wait for this every week will be terrible.

Lol, last night's ep was glorious. So many 'wait is she? will he? no please no' moments.

I think Canada is going to continue airing the show on Thursdays, at least judging by the preview.

And the Dateline that aired last night got almost 3 times the demo of Hannibal in the 10pm hour.

This is why we're canceled people. Is it Saturday yet?

That had to be the most fucked up episode of television to ever air. Holy christ that was some dark, twisted shit.

The hate for this season is out of control IMO. The production team got a little carried away with themselves in the first two episodes but the show has been on par with most of the last season since episode three and these last two episodes have been incredible.

obvious reference to Silence of the Lambs, it seems to me Fuller already knew he was never going to get the chance to adapt it. Maybe this season is intended to be the final one and the whole "looking for a new home for it" is just one big swerve? :p Yeah, probably not.

Fuller accepted the American Gods gig before we knew about the cancellation, which was the big thing that doomed the series. He knew.
