Platform: Playstation 4
Release Date: July 21, 2015 (pre-load only available now new buyers)
Developer: thatgamecompany | Sony Santa Monica
Price: $14.99 ($11.99 PS+)
Crossbuy: If you have digitally purchased it already for PS3, you can download it free for PS4.
Runs At: 1080p @ 60FPS
Length: 1-3 hours

Gameplay:
The players take the role of a robed figure traveling through a desert towards a large mountain. The player is not given any instructions on how to play the game or what the game's goal is, nor any map of the game's world.
There is no spoken dialogue besides the chirping call of the player, and the cutscenes are shown without any words. It is up to the player to interpret the storyline of Journey, leading to many theories as to what exactly is taking place.

Multiplayer:
If the player is playing online, they can encounter other players while on their way, called companions. However, players cannot speak to each other (neither via voice nor text), nor are identified by any username, gamertag or avatar.
They can communicate only via a wordless shout, and have symbols on the front of their robes, so players can identify whether they have already encountered a given fellow traveler or not. They can however, assist each other.

For more info about the game, go here.

Tip: For first-time players, play it in one sitting with headphones on. Don't view any of the game's images and videos from the internet. Go in blind and be surprised. This is GAF's 2012 GotY afterall :)

Perfect OT. Barely any info about the game as it should be.
To any new players follow this piece of advise from the OP

Small tip. If you see white light coming from the edge of the screen it means its a companion

Had 360 last gen, straight to ps4 this gen, already pre prdered it, cant wait for tomorrow.

Question, do I play it alone or online, first? I get different accounts everytime, not sure what to do.

You just play and have random "companions". Just do your thing

There's no online mode in the sense that you might think. It just "happens."

If your PS4 is online you'll play a bit of both. Life is a journey after all.

One of my favourite games ever. It's such an incredible experience.

And I concur going in without seeing anything at all if you're a first timer. Just let it wash all over you and do it in one sitting. It's a worthwhile, wonderful experience.

First playthrough was an almost transcendental experience for me, this won't live up to it, but I'll replay it with pleasure anyway.

I cannot wait to jump into this tomorrow. I bought the CE disc version on PS3 when it came out, so I never owned it digitally. But, this game is so damn good, I pre-ordered and bought it again on PS4. My first time playing it was by far the most memorable experience a game has left me for my first run.

All PS4 owners, you are doing yourself wrong if you don't get this. One of the best games ever.

Great and fitting picture in the OT!

Journey is without doubt my most memorable gaming experience ever. It's a game where visuals, music, atmosphere and gameplay are in perfect balance.
