Witcher 3 Gets New Game+ Mode as Final Free DLC

I hope we can choose whether to have higher difficulty in NG+ or not. It can be fun playing through the same difficulty again, walking all over enemies that previously were causing problems while enjoying the story.

New game+ usually scales enemies to become challenging again with your end-game character.

i still haven't beat it once :( ... only level 11 right now.
Felt like i put a lot of time in it too. Trying to visit all the undiscovered locations and get better armor. However i think the best thing i can do is craft some.

guess i gotta be lvl 24 in order to beat the gangs of new york so the smith can get a steady supply of materials. lol

No, i did it with level 15 or 16. You have to be a little bit carefull, but it is doable ;)

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
There is nothing substantial enough about the free DLC that would suggest it was cut because of time constraints. Nope, they had plans on releasing 'some' of the paid DLC but decided to remove a few tiny side quests and then add a little more to the paid DLC.

They saw dollar signs.

I'm still going to buy the DLC when it hits. I just don't like having the wool pulled over my eyes.

They saw dollar signs...on free DLC

Son of a...

I just started a Death March playthrough a week ago, and I'm far enough into the game that I wouldn't want to restart. That being said, NG+ is an amazing addition and I would definitely be down for a NG+ run.

Dammit. I guess I'm doing another run after I finish my Death March run.

Great news!

I wanted to play this game more after beating it last month, but didn't feel right about giving up my awesome gear and weapons. Problem solved!

It really is amazing. Apologies to CDPR on behalf of GAF for what must surely be a confusing experience reading some of these posts.

NG+ should have shipped with the game, simple as that.

This free DLC that they've got a lot of good press off of has been next to worthless. A different outfit for Ciri? Wow, what a big deal...

Precisely, they should have delayed the game for third time by 3 months to satisfy your desire to have everything in the box. Also, everything you find worthless is automatically worthless to everyone else because planet revolves around you.

Excellent, even though I still need to play through the game. I just bought the game last week and it's already on my top ten list for this year.

This is the one feature I hope they added. So flippin' happy to hear they are doing it. I thought we'd have to wait till Redkit to get a NG+. That said, I can't imagine it's exactly a trivial undertaking. What do you allow to transfer to a new playthrough? Recipes? Gwent Cards? And they are really gonna need to balance this well in order for it to be fun. I beat the game on Blood and Broken Bones and I'm 2/3 through on a Death March difficulty and their aren't really any differences past level 10 that I've noticed between the two difficulties. I'm hopeful they address that.

Maybe I can go with Yennefer instead of Triss this time. Never really liked her, but I felt bad when i saw her reaction after i rejected her in The Last Wish

Yup, another one who hasn't fallen for this marketing campaign!

Whats there to "fall" for? Of course they are going to promote the fact that they are giving away DLC... thats pretty much the point. This is a relatively unknown company (outside of enthusiasts circles) who is trying to make a name by distancing itself from the rest of the AAA industry who would likely have charged you $3-5 for each pack.

Although, it seems like they get shit regardless, so maybe they are better off just making people buy it?

NG+ excites me because I just finished and got dumped by Yen and Triss as I romanced them both. You can't have both apparently....but I wanted both lol. I think I am team Triss, but we will see how this next round goes.

Is there a reason why you wouldn't want this? I'm genuinely curious.
I know it sounds like a pain in the ass to collect ingredients everytime you use a potion but i just want it to be like in previous games.
You have all these plants scattered around the world and you only need to use them a few times,it makes no sense to me.

Finish the game? I'm >100hrs into it and I'm nowhere near finishing it.

I wonder if anyone has 100% this game?

I do kind of miss stocking up on and crafting bombs, oils, and potions as I did in Witcher 1 & 2. To some, going through the trouble of preparing all of that over and over would be too much of a pain. To me, allowing a single strong alcoholic beverage to completely restore any of these crafted consumables you've depleted oversimplifies the whole thing a bit.

I'm still loving the game in spite of that, and honestly don't expect CDPR to change it in any way.

When I replay this on the PC though? It'll be one of the first mods I look for.

Yesssss! Been waiting right at the end of my second play through for this. Hopefully it makes it harder as well.

By the time I got to Skelliga I was burnt out exploring so I'll hit the islands asap in ng+ since I didn't do much other than the main quest.

Wait, you've seen through it? I hope one day that I too will be as enlightened as you!

Of course it is a marketing campaign. They're a business and trying to sell their game. What do you expect? It could have been retailer specific pre-order bonuses, it could have been random paid DLC. It wasn't, they gave it for free when they could have easily done nothing with it. Who cares what their reasoning is for it? It is something which is more than nothing.

Or they could have charged $5 a piece for it, like Bioware, but they didn't. I don't understand people who are shitting on this.

Apparently, he doesn't want CDPR released the DLCs as DLCs, but included them into the game from day 1 instead.
I still don't understand the connection between this and the paid DLCs (expansions) he's getting at though.
