That is totally understandable imo. For me, the Roster is going to decide if i buy the game Day 1 or not.

to be fair, my reaction to those two would be about the same, though with the addition of rolling my eyes and sighing. Vega at least just gets a shrug of the shoulders from me which I agree is better :3
I'm also definitely for more Alpha and maybe SF3 characters, but that's just because I like R.Mika, Karin, Ingrid, Ibuki and maybe Makoto (I liked Makoto in SF3 but her SF4 incarnation didn't sit right with me at all)
The girls aren't the problem. Chun-Li & Cammy both look great.

I'll be picking it up regardless... but damn if the roster isn't boring as hell currently.
I zoned out about halfway into the trailer
I started the trailer, watched his intro, watched five seconds of gameplay, skipped to see if there was a tease at the end and closed the video. I don't plan on finishing the trailer.

Yep same here but I'm getting it day one since my partner mains Chun and Vega, I'm Ibuki and Dudley with the occasional Makoto. We'll see how this goes LOL
Still, they got 44 characters with the disc expansions, I see more characters this time around since it's being made with DLs in mind from the get go.

Roster is very important. I never played if not for Juri and Cammy. But I won't go so far that I'm not playing because of Vega, this just destoryed leaks so who really knows who's in.
Except Karen and R Mika.

I think you guys have too many theories on why Karin should be in it, and you will only be disappointed if she doesn't get in
And about the Karin thing, people are crazy, she is the Ken to Sakuras Ryu, no Sakura no Karin and its that simple
Ryu, Bison, Nash and Birddie all look great too, you never know where would ugly stick strike next though.

He always worked with Vega in Shadaloo, I think him being one of the top dogs of Shadaloo (pretty much the nain antagonists of the story, plus this game might show their downfall) makes him more important to the story than a lot of other characters. Plus, he was pretty much 2nd in command after Bison and is his main dude.

It's mostly because we've seen them so often. They were in the bajillion versions of SF2, Several of them have made crossover appearances in CvS and MvC games and of course they all re-appeared in SF4. There's always going to be some desire for a bit of novelty or at least someone we've not had stuffed in our faces quite as so many times

There's almost nothing in the poor guy's depiction that makes him look like he's in command of anything or even gives much of a toss about Shadaloo or his place in it. I mean his SF4 ending is him just picking up a random kid in the hopes they'll be worth something. Outside of the terrible saturday morning cartoons (where he operates a computer while still wearing his boxing gloves
) he never does anything directly relevant to the plot of interest. He doesn't really strike me as a 'working in the shadows' type either.He's only 'important' just because they said he's supposed to be, they've never actually made it reality XD
Personally, I would love to see Makoto in SFV. The high overall damage would play into her strengths so well that it'd be a shame if she didn't get a chance to fight here. While I haven't played the SF3 version of her, I liked the SF4 version, but it's clear from what I've seen of her SF3 self that the SF4 Makoto was a toned down version. I'd be okay with a DLC Makoto, though. She's not exactly central to anything in Street Fighter. I'll save up some Fight Money for her. Other than her, I'd like Sakura and Rose back, but those are just old favorites. Makoto probably fits the game better than either of those.
As for Vega? Well, he's alright. Looks like he's unique, as he usually is with his high flying act, so I'm happy to see him join. I wonder... since blocking causes grey damage, and Vega's unique trait was that the claw does damage on block, does this mean he can build up a lot of grey with kicks and then stab it all away with the claw? That'd be scary.

So yea I guess he filed the Ninja -role. Karin has a very good chance since we still don't have a rekka character.
Urien could be in since he's unique and possibly very important to the or. I think these two would fill the slots between Charlie and birdie.

With Vega revealed, I'm getting more and more of a sense that the rest of the veterans will be SF4 characters just because they're more marketable to a casual crowd. They'll probably save guys like Urien and R.Mika for DLC. They know we'll eat them up.
So I'm betting on the rest of the vets being:
-Balrog (Boxer)
-'Gief
-'Sim
-Juri

I'm starting to worry that people theorising the more interesting characters will be relegated to DLC so people are more likely to pay for them might hold some weight. I won't pretend to know how popular Vega is (I honestly have no idea) but my gut feeling is that he wouldn't exactly be a DLC character would put much effort into unlocking outside of completionist tendancies

100% trolling/misdirection, imho. Blanka didn't make the initial SFxT roster, so there's precedent of more popular classic characters making it in. Not to mention Blanka has little story significance.

Streetfighter always has pointless (story-wise) characters though. In most of them Zangief, Dhalsim, E Honda and co are just kind of 'there' for whatever the heck. I imagine Birdie will be much like that so I doubt it's much of a point against the green goofball, no matter how much Capcom tries to tell us it's taking the story much more seriously this time
