Your ability to complete weekly events is limited now compared to before the DLC existed. I personally don't have a problem with this but I don't think it's a strange perspective to not like it.

My nephew has been grinding for strange coins since yesterday. We completed PoE 32 and he's now 1 off (was 5 off). Now I'm wondering if he could just do PoE 28 to finalize his grind quest so he can get his first exotic gear before Xur leaves...

The small chests give strange coins regularly each time you open them. So play PoE repeatedly to amass them (along with your weeklies).

I catch your drift haha. I probably did come off as a bit of a snob. Of course people should enjoy stuff however they want. I just don't even know what casual destiny play looks like because I'm such an addict.

I think they are technically random drops from those chests but with a highish drop rate.
