Dishonored: DE (PS4/XBO) - In the days that follow, your trials will be great

Golgo 13

The Man With The Golden Dong
Is the upgrade EU only? I never got an email or anything for a paid upgrade.
US? If so, and you've purchased the game digitally, the price for the definitive edition should automatically be $19.99 on the storefront of either system.

No one seemed to answer my question about Twitch -- does it stream in 1080p/60fps on a normal connection? I know a stream is better than nothing, but can we really gauge image quality there?

Yeah, fair enough. Time-Lord Dirtyshubb used his amazing powers to look six hours ahead into the future, and found one bad post that somehow justifies his own generalization toward the rest of the thread...
Lol I'm not proclaiming anything except that chances are at worst it will be the same game with better resolution, all the dlc included and potentially a stable 30fps.

Am I seriously the more ridiculous poster compared to some people's reactions in this thread, spouting anti consumer accusations and expectationsof thing that were never promised in the first place?

I'm just asking for people to wait and see what happens before writing it off instead of acting like they are forced to buy the game without seeing any concrete evidence of performance.

What expectations are you seeing in this thread other than for a more impressive port (60fps, higher-res textures, etc.)? Those are the only expectations I've seen and, in light of the statement on Bethesda's website:

"complete with enhanced graphics that take full advantage of the powerful hardware of this generation"

I think we can say that those things, in fact, were promised.

Enhanced graphics that take full advantage is referencing the fact it's 1080p whereas the previous gen versions weren't. They in no way said 60fps was coming, should/could it have? Probably but they in no way have promised something and failed to deliver it which is how some people are reacting.

Considering that PCs with similar specs to these consoles can very comfortably run the game at 1080p/60 with high-res textures, I think similar performance is a very logical and reasonable interpretation of the promise, "take full advantage of the powerful hardware".

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Alright, I know the game isn't 75GB so why is it giving me an error message telling me to free up space?

Didn't Prototype games just pop up in store as "remastered" without any pre-release media?

they leaked earlier through achievements/trophies and then it showed up on the xbox store. before the release date there as a trailer the day of or the day before but that's about it.

60fps streams are common on Twitch, yes.

I doubt any of the streams using twitch on the ps4 to stream are anywhere near 60 fps though. I am pretty sure they are only like 720p too. They can be good to judge gameplay in my opinion but you can't get any sort of idea about graphics.

My experience with live from PlayStation has been this way at least.

What reports are they?

Only the most reliable of sources including Stacy's cousin and some random Reddit user.

It's a shame they didn't go all out for this game. I've wanted to play Dishonored for the longest and once they announced they were remaking it, I delayed playing it even more. I'll get to it one of these days, but won't be paying $40 for it. And no, I don't do digital.

Honestly, the game is so good, you should just check it out at $40. With all the DLC, you're looking at tons of content. And even if this is a barebones port, it's still one of the best games released in recent years.

That being said, if you don't need it right away, it'll probably drop in price fairly quickly.

the textures are the same as on last gen consoles? or pc?

Well the textures were never great in any version of Dishonored (seems pretty purposeful though as it gives the game a certain style) but they didnt look all that different from what I remember on PS3.

I guess wait for the DigitalFoundry analysis before buying.

at this point if your PC can handle it, just wait. You could get it for way cheaper during the winter sale most likely

Received my copy early, and it sure as hell ain't 60 FPS.

Aside from maybe less color-banding, it looks to me to be almost exactly the same (framerate included) as the 360 version I played the first time 'round.

Got an email regarding a review copy last night, it said they will email me closer to the games release. So yea I don't know what to think at this point.

Follow up, just got this tonight:

Hi,

We really appreciate your interest in Dishonored Definitive Edition. While we would like to be able to accommodate all requests, we unfortunately have a limited number of codes available for review purposes and will be unable to fulfil your request at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we'll definitely let you know if we're able to secure additional codes.

All the best,
(blank)

So no early impressions for me, I'll wait and see how it is. I really wanted to replay this but with the lack of news I don't think I'll be picking it up tomorrow.
