Life Is Strange |OT| Rewinder Me

It's on my goty list for fure.

Same here. Looks like this, Witcher 3 and Rocket league will battle it out for me. Maybe Fallout 4 as well but unlikely given the dialogue system in that one. Unless they mess up the ending or episode 5 completely LiS should probably grab it.

If the ending of LiS falls flat, no one's going to remember it outside of the disappointing end.

It'd definitely be hurt by an unsatisfying ending. Anything tethered by a mystery hinges on the conclusion to that mystery.

I have faith that Dontnod thought about how the game ends substantially more than they did the rest of the game which has been really enjoyable up until now.

One of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard, the other versions are great as well

Can't stop thinking about the game. Gonna be sad when its over, most of the time I'm glad when the credits roll as most of the games I play outstay their welcome to some degree.

Can't give enough credit to Dontnod, they've made a game that'll linger in my memory for years, no matter how episode 5 goes.

edit: Is there any way to buy/legally download the original songs from the game like the one I posted? Other than Spotify.

Yeah, the music in this game is just all around great. Hasn't been a track I've disliked yet.

A friend of mine sent me a link to Max herself (Hannah Telle) covering my favourite song from the game so far, 'Obstacles'.

LiS would be a definite GOTY contender for me were it not for the fact that this is the year of Metal Gear Solid V.

And Persona 5.

And Fallout 4.

Tough competition! Still, I absolutely adore it and it has been one of the most special games I've played in recent years.

I would agree that against this stiff competition, GOTY is out of the question, but it could still make the top 10 or even top 5 in some people's list. Doesn't have to be #1 necessarily...

Just my 2 cents IMHO.

This is certainly one of my favorite games of the year so far, but with MGSV, it's gonna be hard to choose a GOTY.

played the trail demo of ep 1, not much happened but i really like the little touches the game has like the diary/text/photo stuff. the rewind is a very nice feature and the world and atmosphere is really cool.

def' coppin this when i get the time.

Its only $20 for the entire 5 episodes, why wouldn't you spend that cheap cash for such a well written and atmospheric game? Its worth at least $40 in my book (especially with regards to climatic plot twists, cliffhangers, and sheer entertainment value).

I wonder if Giant Bomb and co have been keeping up with LiS. They did do a Quick Look earlier this year when the 1st episode hit and nothing since then....

Hoping they bring this game up when they do their annual GOTY chitchat. Very entertaining to listen to and if LiS is included....well THAT discussion will get even more interesting to listen to....

I'd love to see this, but doubt that it will actually happen. Guys from GB in general don't seem to be much into episodic adventure games, they rarely talk about anything from Telltale. I can see it going the D4 way and being mentioned as this cool thing one of the guys really liked before they move on.

Got a friend who's been playing this on PC but it recently went out of commission and he's wanting to pick up episode 4 on his ps4. Does anyone know if you do this if it just starts you out with certain preset choices. If so do you know what they are?

I bought a 2-5 pass and it turned out you need to own everything in order for it to work. So I had to buy Episode 1 twice (I originally had it on my X1).

So yeah, don't do that.

That's exactly what I needed to know, thanks for the info :)

I'm still amazed by the soundtrack of this game. Every song is so damn good, especially Something Good by Alt-J.

I mean, Jesus f-ing Christ.

A question - a lot of people are talking about the final episode coming out mid-October. Is there some news story I missed about that? Because last I read it was supposed to come out beginning of September - in fact, they had a specific date range that went from August 25th-September 1st.

Dontnod didn't give out any specific dates, or date ranges, for episodes 2-5 in advance. Any date range posted was based on the information that Dontnod aimed to release a new episode every 6-8 weeks. Given that the last one was released at the end of July after about 10 weeks, it's safe to assume the next one will not release at the end of August or in early September.

So, I'd say you're looking at mid-September (6 weeks) at best or mid-October (10 weeks) at worst. But no one knows for sure.

At least Patrick loves it. But yeah I don't see any of them keeping up. Maybe once the fifth episode comes out.

No matter what ending we receive, many will still complain. This game is getting so much hype with every single chapter. If this game came out with a quick DLC like RE Revelations 2, it wouldn't be a problem.

I feel we might get a Mass Effect 3 type of controversial ending!

While we are at it. What kind of ending would make you guys happy?

Started this game up today after buying form last steam sale. Really disliked it at the start but soon couldn't put it down, played into ep 3 so far
(quit for night when they heading to pool)
. Hope it stays as good as it is so far.

Get ready to mind fucked as Episode 3's ending is just.....speechless.....

One of the reasons why I became of this game is because of this episode's ending.

Should've just played through that pool scene before going to be bed.

This game is a nice mix of
Donnie Darko and The Butterfly Effect
. Love the atmosphere and where the story appears to be going.

The atmosphere is readily prevalent in this particular track and really brings together the stylistic choices made for presenting the school and the nature-y environment in which the high school is located, love this piece!

The soundtrack is godly. I have a lot of new music to listen to. I particularly can't stop listening to Got Well Soon by Breton.

don't marathon it!

give yourself a day between each episode

Yeah I dunno how you could even do that without horribly undercutting the emotional weight of the various happenings in the story. Not to mention if you play through it all in a day you will have seriously missed a ton of stuff. After only 4 episodes my time played is 15 hours and I haven't left the game running and I only have a single playthrough.

So, I finished chapter three... I gotta sit the fuck down.

This game has been absolutely amazeballs so far. No, for real. From the music, both soundtrack and tracks from licensed artists, to the interesting setting, dialogue, and story, this game is a top notch adventure title. It is exactly what I needed after finishing my first Witcher 3 run, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

This year is in my personal gaming hall of fame and I still have MGSV, Fallout 4 and Persona 5 on my wish list. Not to mention two handfuls of indies.

I guess what I'm trying to say is twofold: Life is Strange makes me feel "some type of way" and thank you, GAF. I wouldn't have known about this game without you.

So I just tried the demo on PS4 and I'm pretty much sold. The setting actually reminded of Persona 4 Golden, which I just finished. My backlog is huge, so I'm still kinda on the fence, though. Any other games like this? The Walking Dead? Tbh, I don't know anything about the genre. And how many episodes are they releasing in total? 5?

That 16€ for the Season Pass is tempting me, so I guess I'm going for it anyway. Sigh... Just too many games!!

The wife and I just got caught up this weekend.

We had played Episode 2 when it came out but just bought Ep 3 and 4 to play on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

I have so many freaking questions that this game can't answer for me yet, but some I was hoping you guys could answer.

Ep 2 and 3 spoilers:
We saved Kate, but I was wondering what the game does in place of you going to visit her for information if she's dead.

Ep 4 spoiler:
We wouldn't let Chloe kill herself. Did that have any immediate repercussions? Or is that still possibly up in the air for Ep 5?

Ep 2 and 4 spoilers (Big ones):
Did anyone try to blame Jefferson for Kate's suicide (attempt). I remember thinking that it was so odd to be able to point the finger at him since Nathan and David were set up as antagonists so early on. I'm curious what the impact of that might have done.

Also after finishing Ep 4, go back and start a new file:
Listen to the first lecture from Jefferson in the class room. Mother Fuckin foreshadowing like crazy.

I never played a game of this kind, and I fell in love with LiS almost instantly.
Go for it.

Sounds good. :p

Just noticed that the Season Pass doesn't include the first episode, so I'll take a risk and buy the Complete Season. Can't go wrong with 20€.

The Wolf Among Us.

Hmm... I think I'll get that one and The Walking Dead for the Vita as soon as I finish Life Is Strange.

This is a great thought. I plan on doing this down the line to see if anything changes. I hope so.

I did this in my second play through, playing it on PC and Xb1.

Just finished Ep3 on my second play through and so far
He isn't doing the every day heroes award anymore, neither is he going to San Fransisco with the winner.
other than that I haven't noticed anything different so far.

If he
doesn't do the contest any more, then does that scene with him and Victoria outside the school in Episode 3 just not happen?

It's still there.
he does mention it in their conversation though, but it plays out the exact same way.
