cheap (£2.50) but usually ~1week for me sometimes

CEX are hit and miss. If it's in their warehouse, usually next day. If it's stock in a local store that they can't shift so they mark it as online stock, it can take a while. But you have no idea of knowing.

ive ordered from them and most recently ordered 4 normal games.. then 2pm that day next day was with me.

Thanks guys. One last question - how are the general quality of the items? Obviously, I would be looking at buying controllers/peripherals etc.

Well Konami are apparently asking them to hold back so if any retailer ships early, it might bugger up their relationship.

I can see them not caring tbh. Make a bunch of customers extra happy, or protect that massive line up of releases Konami have planned for the future?
I hope not. My uni course resumes on Sep 7 and I think I'm going to need more than a week to fully enjoy it :p

Mixed, I bought an SSD which looked brand spankers and was boxed as new, I bought a i5 2500k which was sent in a small jiffy bag and a thrustmaster hotas x which was badly packaged in a box (but arrived unscathed).

End of the day, you get a years g'tee and if it's damaged they will need to refund/replace anyway.

But my collectors edition is locked in their dungeon :( I hate you game.

Game have apparently said that they have taken the bank holiday into account, so I'm hoping it's just ShopTo and that Konami fucked up their communications which wouldn't surprise me.

I'm in the same boat.

Shopto have always been awful in the past so maybe Konami only put the smack down on them....

Here's hoping, if people just shut up the place they got it from we'd be fine...

Probably best to go with the Steelbook from shopto for a few quid more.
Depends on how eager people are to play it.

I've only ever had positive experiences from TGC. They remind me of Gameplay pre GAME and even pre-BT in terms of pricing and crucially, early release. I got Ocarina of Time from them seven days early! Ahh, memories.

However...I need that steelbook :(

What's the deal with Euro copy hate?

No trade in's ect?

Yeah, sometimes foreign writing on the back cover too. Not sure how DLC works for European copies. Presume it's the same as UK.

The Steelbook will probably hold value better too if people just want to play it and sell it on

Just a heads up, the Steelbook will likely be separate to the game, as in - you will receive a day one edition copy of the game with an empty Steelbook case separately.

This was the situation with Metal Gear Rising.

So for people thinking they are getting a retail Steelbook copy of the game they will likely be disappointed.

That said, only the EU are getting this Steelbook and I have also noticed that the Steelbook alone has already sold for £20 on eBay in completed listings - so to get a cheap copy of the game it is worth picking up the ShopTo bundle.

You will be able to get good money for the Steelbook alone depending on where you are prepared to ship etc.

I trade in 0.0000001% of my games so the grey region stuff from TGC and others doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I just like pretty things and that steelbook is a very pretty thing indeed :D

[EDIT - Yeah I know it's just a casing for the stock SKU. Shopto are despatching them together though.]

I have heard that usually TGC and Simply Games end up with the same supplier, which is why they're usually the cheapest. If they're sourcing stock from Europe, probably also means that they're not getting the message from Konami not to ship early. So if the European thing doesn't bother you like I don't think it does for the majority, there's where you buy.

I preordered using Rakuten from Simplygames. I hope they're one of the ones who ship MGS5 super early.

I really cant wait any longer for it.

Thanks for the comments on the stand guys. So should I go with the official Sony one if I want it? It's expensive but I think I'd be better off with that, I mean it'll be on a flat surface but my table is always being bumped into (including by me) so I kind of need it but the fan thing worries me. Are those of you that use one using an official one? I don't want any possibility of it causing issues with the system.

If my Metal Gear doesn't get here as quickly as some peoples, I'll act tough and pretend that a big red robot hand is worth waiting extra time for.

:'(

I have one in my room and my SO has one as well and they're both great. They're a bit on the expensive side (I have a white PS4 as well so I had to import mine from Asia - £45 after all was said and done*) but they feel really sturdy and I trust them more than other ones because they were heavily pushed by Sony.

*Fuck FedEx

how are shopto with steelbooks? they usually send everything in jiffybags and it has me worried i'll get a damaged steelbook, only problem is getting rid of the game but i hopefully should be able to flog it on facebook for the price i bought it

Was there ever a patch for the console versions to reduce what many players perceived as excessive motion blur?

Yup. Although I didn't have a problem with it in the first place and didn't notice anything different after the patch.

Was free delivery with TGC last time i ordered(I'm in the UK).

Nope, and yeah the motion blur is a really jarring issue but I ended up getting used to it.
Uhh.. yes there was. They released a patch that not only almost completely removed the excessive motion blur, it also massively improved camera control (though it's still not perfect).

That almost makes me want to re-buy it but I also found the combat quite difficult to work my head around. I don't think I'm bad at games (imo :p) but I just couldn't figure it out.

Anyone got good links for MGSV, that ships to Ireland (and good euro ocbcversion if possible)

Would be interested in the limited edition too. That arm looks cool...

I completely missed it apparently, tried to correct myself but I was apparently too late, my bad.

Once you get used to each character it becomes much more fun. You need to aim for the kill sights and not just attack. Also, balancing your team out helps. It's still a psp game, but combat is fun once you level up the characters and unlock new abilities.

It's cool. You can't expect everyone to keep up with everything. Also, alot of gaming sites didn't report it when it was patched or reported late at least =/.

The collectors edition has been out of stock for a while :(.

Just grabbed MGSV for £33.50 on Xbox One from The Game Collection via Rakuten using code PAYDAY15 and some points I had. Think with just the code it brings it in under £35.

Means I've managed to get Mad Max and MGSV for under £70. Fingers crossed they arrive at the weekend so I can get stuck into them over the bank holiday.

Hopefully the rest of the year is as kind with these deals, there is a lot coming out I plan to play

FF Type-0 HD XB1/PS4 £9.99 @ TGC
Looks like the PS4 version is sold out. There's no price or Buy button on its store page. The XB1 version is still available, though.

Does anyone know where the cheapest available price for Oneechanbara Z2 is? Amazon UK are doing it for £27.99, I was wondering if I could get it for less than £25?

RetroDLC

Foundations of Burden
I managed to order MGS V on PS4 from The Games Collection via Rakuten for £33.36 using the 15% off code. I'm now far more comfortable buying the game compared to Amazon's £40 listing that I had preordered. How the hell Rakuten can offer heavy discounts like these, I don't know.
