i used to think survival games were stupid.
It's ARK: survival evolved free weekend on steam and today i played it for 7 hours straight. Having friends play with you makes a world of difference. I had a blast.
Is MPP5 archived yet? Missed it due to the aforementioned 7 hour session.

be forewarned, it runs like aaaaabsolute trash.
We spent the first hour not knowing how to forage for berries or supplies. We thought the game was just extremely hard. Trying to fistfight dodos for meat. I haven't laughed harder in a long time. You can create monstrosities in the character creation. now that we figured out how to play and built our house and stuff the game has kind of lost its luster. I doubt I'll end up purchasing, maybe in the future when it's more optimized.
Best moment had to be getting killed by some guy while we were searching for a place to build our house, so after we found a place far from them to build a house and managed to raid some high level dude's unconcious body for a lot of cool loot that we split up including a split up armor set, so I was wearing the head and boots, my buddy the chest, and my other friend the gloves. We looked like a motley crew of goblins that had raided some hero's sleeping body and were each wearing different parts of his armor. It was hilarious.
So we crept through the woods at night to get revenge on the guys who killed me, and he hopped out of his house while we were figuring out how to get in it, so I had to run away while firing crossbow bolts at him, and my friend managed to tag him with sleep dart while I was running from him and while he was serpentining towards us.
So while he was unconcious we killed him and took his stuff and bolted. Then I tamed a dodo.

Yeah, doing AK-47 drivebys on giant prehistoric beasts to defend your big cool base is 150% in my wheelwell.

ARK does seem like the most polished one out of all the survival games. Even compared to DayZ.
Also has the advantage of not being about fucking zombies again. I am so goddamn sick of zombies.

I'm thinking about switching to a Funi subscription over CR when my CR runs out since it's only 40 bucks for the subs since CR seems to have removed the $60/12 gift membership option for the US and the other cards/monthly subscription costs more. I can still get the shows a week later and in 480p anyway on CR.

That sounds about right to me. Maybe switch 2 and 1, but it's been a while since I've seen either.
I love 4 if only for the cheese and oreo segment. Which one was the one with cowboy Yoshi? Didn't Drew win that one too? For some reason my specific memories of all the MPPs are super hazy, but I remember having huge laughs during that one.

were they streaming the game at 30 FPS? It seemed like in some games, the i-frames rendered you completely invisible. It's been a while since I played, so I'm wondering if the game runs at 60 and your i-frames flash in such a way that they make you invisible if viewed at 30 fps?

The one you're talking about is Mario Party Party 2. It had Dan trying to say he was the Rocky Balboa of Mario Party when he was more the Apollo Creed, Brad getting super-salty about Drew getting a star off him with help from Boo iirc, and that burrito bet between Dan and Brad. Also it was the birthplace of CAKE FACTORY.
Good lord was this latest Mario Party Party a freakin' success of an event. Is 6 the one with the microphone? I wonder how THAT would work out with a live audience.
