I need the cold lifeless metallic fingers of Big Boss's prosthetic hand to feel all over my body.

So I've been out of the loop for a day or two and missed some info.

So I'm guessing that TPP unlocks on PC at 4pm NZ time now instead of midnight?

I don't really think mgo3 will happen.

I expect an announcement of a second delay late September, then an "early next year" then nothing for 6 months, and a cancellation next year when nobody cares anymore.

Either that or its just very barebones and has like 2 maps and only a few modes and is riddled with problems and barely works. Then it gets turned off in March.

This is konami, if they even care to spend money releasing it I would be very surprised.

Is there any mention of it on the game's box or manual?

What makes you say that?

Not necessarily. It just means they're putting more into those other divisions. At the end of the day, we're trying to second guess business strategy based on press releases and (I assume) a very limited, completely outsider understanding of the Japanese Gaming industry. To be honest, I'm not sure how useful the conclusions are that either of us are drawing.

Sorry, I'm always playing Devil's Advocate. :D

True, though the conclusions we're drawing are more useful to us than them. Whether we end up being optimistic, pessimistic or even neutral regarding their future output, it's only going to help us to keep our expectations in check accordingly.

So do I usually, though I have a grudge against every company who mistreats it's artists, creators and all other staff. :p

I read that there's rewards in MGSV for playing ground zeroes a couple of days ago. The only issue is I bought GZ from the US PSN and i'm in the UK so my MGSV will be the PAL version. I have the UK GZ from Ps plus so before I go about getting all the extra stuff, can somebody confirm if my US save will work?

Now.

I played MGS1 when I was 11 and it blew me away. It was like a religious experience.

Same.

1998. I was 11. Xenogears. Metal Gear Solid. The sixth season of Star Trek DS9.

I was very happy that year absorbing loads of content geared "above" my age.

I'm spending the next two days getting the rest of my upcoming week's HW done so I can skip classes with no repercussions. Just gotta think about something else than TPP.

Anyone know if any LA area stores are selling this yet? PM please if so!

Saw couple of guys selling copies on Craigslist around the Glendale area. I'm not sure if that one mom and pop shop near the mall is still open (since I'm not from there).

The people you need to capture in GZ to transfer to TPP has been confirmed in detail:

12 standard enemy combatants (POW's)
4 in the Main Mission
2 in Eliminate the Renegade Threat
3 in Classified Intel Acquisition
3 in Destroy the Anti-Air Emplacements
Prisoner 12282 (Destroy the Anti-Air Emplacements)
Escaped prisoner in the main mission
Glaz (Eliminate the Renegade Threat)
Palitz (Eliminate the Renegade Threat)
Hideo (Intel Operative Rescue)
Undercover JCS agent (Classified Intel Acquisition)
Bald Marine (Classified Intel Acquisition)

Note that all standard prisoners are found at Camp Omega, while the escaped prisoner and Prisoner 12282 is found in the refugee camp and the holding cell in the Admin Building, respectively. The 19 characters will also be unlocked by Main Mission 12.[6][7]

Got a question for you brothers:
When do you think I should introduce my (actual) brother to mgs? He's about to turn 12 and I'm wondering if that might be too soon. When did you all start playing mgs? I think I might have been around his age.

I played MGS1 first when I was like 7. So, no age is too young for MGS to me!

my first real contact with the game was on a demo disc and i was hooked right away... the atmosphere was just awesome.

Holy hell, I remember that demo disc! I don't know where I got it from, but I think it was a Pizza Hut promotion or something? I played everything on it, but the Metal Gear demo took over my life. I was blown away by all the stuff you could do, like luring guards with your footprints. And it drew me in with it's whole film-style opening credits. I was hooked.

I bought the full game shortly after it came out. I remember the review in GamePro (I was 13, okay).

So yeah, I started playing then, but unless you're prepared to explain the
"There's another in my-"
in Ground Zeroes, you may wanna put some thought into which games you introduce him to.

Friend who got his copy early is going to let me borrow it for the night while he sleeps lol.

EDIT: He wants it back tomorrow afternoon so i'll have about 6 hours of uninterrupted playtime if I don't sleep. Starting to think I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms after handing it back.

Yesterday in a moment of weakness i broke down and got that £50 copy of TPP, please don't judge me too harshly brothers.

And while the game is very good, it's tainted my enjoyment of it, to a degree.

Moral of the story, don't be impatient.

Same here raj. I was in my final year of primary school and my mum got it me on release day, after a year of buying every single magazine with a single mention of the game. Been here day one for every single title ever since.
