Not bad? It's starting to effect the democratic party. I think he should calm down for a second.

Obama can't sneeze with people flipping the fuck out that he took the time to go get tissue rather than use that time to single-handedly destroy ISIS. And even if he actually did that, he would stand accused of murdering innocent US soldiers.

There's not much he could do that wouldn't be taken as Obama overstepping his authority.

The Dems problem has been spinelessness. Being a "big tent" party makes it hard to have a loud singular message and that has always been made worse by the Dems tendency to back away and letting the right control the narrative.

And lets be real, in this case, fucking Ohio was naming a mountain in Alaska for a President that had no connection to it at all. Yet the "States Rights" brigade, loyal protectors of freedom, have, unsurprisingly, made an exception in this case because, Obama, Its always Obama.

How so? These people have been bitching and disrespecting Obama and the office of the Presidency since he was elected, so fuck 'em in the ear.

If we had a rich white male president this shit would be a side note buried deep on news sites. But since we have Emperor Obama it's being depicted as some wild overreach of power on conservative outlets.

My time spent in Alaska solidifies how great of a choice this is. The majority still refer to the mountain as such, and it's genuinely a great name for a beautiful mountain.

Brietbart News' Pollak: Name Change Is An "Executive Power Grab." Breitbart News Editor Joel Pollak criticized Obama's decision in a series of August 31 tweets, writing that it was evidence of "another executive power grab" and that the president was "reminding the American people" that he is "the Emperor":

Fox's Van Susteren Questions Why Obama Isn't "Let[ting] The People Decide" Whether To Change Mount McKinley's Name. Responding to Obama's announcement that Mount McKinley would be renamed in an August 30 tweet, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren asked "why not let the people decide?":

I've been to Alaska several times for vacation and I never heard anyone referring it to as McKinley. It's always been Denali.

So this move has my vote. Those OH Republicans who are up in arms about this need to find something else to worry about.

Fuck it, it's time to carve Obama's face into Mt. Rushmore. And from the top of Mt. Denali watch as the fury of racists and republicans burn as bright as a thousand suns, highlighting the beautiful mountain you stand upon.

There's little evidence to suggest this. His approval has not meaningfully changed in the last calendar year, and it's up from the beginning of last year:

The most major thing he's done in this new "omg obama don't give a fuck" era is suggest a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, which is something supported by a supermajority of Americans:

There's not much polling in swing states for presidential matchups and almost no one is doing a generic congressional ballot right now. What's the story you're telling here, let's look into the data to see if it's true.

Good point. Obama should agree to abide by a plebiscite poll of the people of Alaska on the issue. Surely they would not vote for Denali.

You can definitely question Obama's motives, though. It's not as if there wasn't anything more important/urgent on the agenda to take care of (gun control, healthcare, economy, national security, etc.)

And as an added bonus, he removes the name of a Republican president atop the highest mountain in North America and third tallest in the world by prominence.

Know what hurt the Dems? When they said fuck Obama in the midterms and lost all those seats

No. Obama at that time was incredibly toxic and still is (very polarising). Reason why Dems lost is because their people did not show up to vote whilst the GOP's did.

You may not realize this but people can multitask just because he did this doesn't mean he isn't on top of other issues. I always think are people serious with this line of thinking..

This action took approximately 0% of the president's time.

What?

Obama was and still is very unpopular in many of the lily white districts that determined that election. The loss was inevitable and has nothing to do with democrats throwing Obama in the bushes.

I used to work at a Kroger until I moved. I'd have to drive an extra 10 minutes to get to one, and I honestly prefer Meijer over Kroger other than missing the Private Selection brand.

Gotcha. Yeah, I mean, this ice cream is not something to eat every day. Week. Month, maybe. So I'd say it's worth only an occasional trek!

...the fuck? Of all the dog whistling, race baiting bullshit Breitbart puts out, this the most callous and ridiculous. It doesn't even make sense. Dead teenagers as fucking props. Why would you even bring it up, just to remind us of that walking fuck up of a human being that is G. Zimmerman?

Renaming a mountain was probably one of the easiest and least questionable thing he has done in his two terms. Mt. Denali renaming was probably a nice break in between the usual political difficulties.

Again, it's not a "re-naming". Denali is the original, proper name for the mountain. "McKinley" was the renaming done for shameless political reasons. People have complained about McKinley for many years, Im surprised it's taken this long to do something about it.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Sorry, 'restoring' is what I meant to write, just got stuck on 'renaming'.

No prob, it was clear what you meant. It's annoying though how media and talking heads are using the phrase "rename" in a pejorative light when this is actually restoring the correct name. Frankly, I don't even understand why this is political.

Just to reiterate:

Nobody in Ohio, save for idiot Republican politicians, gives a shit about William McKinley.

I cannot stress this enough.

Can he go OMG LAST TERM GOD MODE MY PRESIDENT! on something that matters?

That sure would be cool.

Yeah it's a shame that DACA, DAPA, the Iran Deal, Net Neutrality, new Overtime Pay Rules, as well as a number of other labor regulations and drug sentencing reforms in the works are such meaningless issues.

He will never do anything that matters it seems.

Probably because it's pre-election year and it deals with a former President. The opportunist politician is going to latch on as it is an easy target.

Kasich on the case.

Like so.

Don't forget opening up Diplomatic relations with Cuba, and new emissions standards for power plants/semis.

About time. Denali National Park and Preserve is absolutely beautiful and one of the best places to go camping/hiking.
