There are two types of PNG compression. PNG-24 is full lossless compression and designed for photos and screenshots. PNG-8 uses indexed colour like GIF (limited to 256 colours) and is designed for simple graphics, but with better compression and transparency support than GIF. The latter is not lossless.
But it would be pretty inexplicable for Sony to use PNG-8 here.

I'd prefer the others long before they give me a TV recording feature - I have a TV, PC and a set-top box for that - game-related/social features are far more important on a games console for me.
PNGs, extra storage, GafGroups(!) and Youtube streaming integration are welcome.
This is what they should do for PS3 games (of course, I want proper PS1/2 BC) give free licences to users who already bought the games as a goodwill gesture, and create good word-of-mouth for PS Now. Streaming isn't my first choice, but a couple of my friends think it's brilliant, but over-priced.
I'd be very careful trying to Google that.

They mentioned most people would get their invites by September 2nd, the day just started guys.
That's because there are no trophies on the servers to delete, you're just deleting shit on the users end. Deleting single/all trophies would be an infrastructural mess with lots of risks.
It is sadly not worth it, just to appease a tiny fragment of OCD trophy hunters, even though I wouldn't mind it as well.

You can delete 0% games, you cannot delete any games where you have achieved a trophy though.

And people here saying it won't happen, make me feel worse and I hope their wrong on this.

Ugh, that is indeed a huge annoyance. Only being able to do one thing at a time and those long reload times make it even worse.
Now that we get 10gb I won't have to bother with it as much though.

Or maybe friends coming over to your home with some games, and after seeing the game it poops a trophy after the first minute, and it's there forever to stay in your trophy list.

0% trophies are sync across all your PS devices not just locally. They exists on a database table on Sony's servers. Just because a trophy is locked doesn't mean its state only exists locally.

Then completion percentage will become a joke. I saw a bloke with 100% completion a few days ago with about 30 games. I know for sure they didn't just delete all their unfinished games and that made it all the more impressive.

I also don't play PS+ games I'm unsure of because I don't want to risk not liking them and being stuck with them at like 2% on my trophy list.

How does it become less impressive ?
Deleting lists for unfinished games don't have anything to do with games you actually 100%.
You just mange your lists in a more pleasing to the eye way, and doesn't obligate you to play a game to 100% if you don't want to just to fill your list.
They've also officially commented on and defended the fact that it's staying at 0% only. Upholding the sanctity of trophies and such.
This is really something people shouldn't keep their hopes up for. It's one of the most unlikely updates to make it in.
Increased storage is a nice quick fix. Hopefully it buys enough time for them to fix it properly.
I would still like online saves to be available for all users on a PS+ machine though. Everything else is shared but saves are only for the subscriber. My kids should be able to have their saves backed up
Also, better syncing please. If you can auto sync as well as Xbox one does, then I'll buy another ps4 to play when the living room TV is in use.

Make another psn login for testing if it unnerves you so much
Even worse is if you have replaced the hdd or gotten a new ps4. Wanna download all your saves? Nah one at a time. And if you dont have the game installed you cant doqnload the save for it.

Enough for you. There are plenty of saves which are 3-500MB.
Even with enough space they need to sort that out. Maybe separate actual saves from replay or customisation data, which is what I assume is taking up so much space on the big ones.

I use turn off all the time and I don't get those notifications. Do you mean if you unplug it completely from power it gives those notifications again?

While the idea that the person has completed every game he owns could look good, to me it just says that he doesnt play many games or cant afford to buy too many and so has more time to play the ones he does own.
If someone seeing that you played a game and didnt enjoy it is enough to make you look bad, than that says a lot about you personally. I have tonnes of games that have only a few % trophy wise because i either didnt like them, borrowed them, didnt want to go for the trophies or had something better to play. I also over over 60 Platinums and 6000 trophies total so in my mind that kind of outweighs any negativity that someone might see when looking at my trophy list.

Nope....just starting up from a normal powered off mode (as opposed to from suspend). I never unplug it from the power point

That's weird, is it known issue? I think I got the notifications once on all my accounts and haven't seem them since that, and I have all Power Saving settings turned off so the system turns itself off completely always.

I don't know how widespread it is...but last time I mentioned it on GAF, alot of people 'me too'd' Also a quick google indicates that it is relatively widespread

Good update. Nice to see the Plus money get invested in more essential cloud storage.
I'm looking forward to the PS4 Gaf communities too. Should be much easier to get some Raids or squads in Battlefront going.
Maybe it can never be implemented.
Like changing PSN names or cross game party chat on PS3.

Try turning on Rest Mode and put your PS4 to sleep, then disable the Power Saving settings and turn it off again, maybe it just wants you to use the sleep once?
Hopefully Sony will fix it cause that's really annoying, sorry for off-topic.

You think the UI needs a lot of work? After playing on an Xbox One this past weekend, I'm very happy with the PS4's UI. That thing is a laggy mess.

It's probably just one of those things that takes about 5 seconds for Sony to fix...but as its such a minor issue it is probably at the bottom of their priority list.

I actually liked it before the update but they may have changed it due to marketing reasons. The Vertical banner layout they had was unfairly bias towards towards the first screen which can only fit like 3 game pics.
This is still my favorite store.
That update to the classic web store browser was so smooth on ps3.
Damn you, for a minute I thought PixelJunk Monsters was getting a PS4 release

Yeah given that not everyone is affected it probably haven't made it to their ears yet.
Would assume that it's fixable somehow by reinstalling the System Software but I think that's overblowing it would require to backup and all, better just hope they fix it in future.
