I need to remember to quote these numbers next time someone tries to tell me Western 3rd parties are going to support NX. Abysmal sales.

Which is funny because when you look at the Wii titles, games like World at War actually sold over 1 million on Wii.

But then later games ofc failed to crack that, MW3 selling half of that.

where's this from?

Where do you think haha.

Wander if PS4 will be able to become a top performer for COD from this year or is this deal by Sony a bit too late to turn the tables?

It will. At least it should fairly easily based on all the trends I'm seeing.

I was not clear in my original post but i am talking about USA only and with games like COD which have a strong community people like to keep buy the consoles on which their friends are playing so with more people already on XBO i feel that even more of their friends will buy on XBO in the next iteration.

So how you expect it to reverse?

Yup, I was talking about the US :)

Everything I'm seeing would indicate to me it'll do better on PS4.

The conversation isn't really productive when you don't tell people what you are seeing. Are you not at liberty to elaborate?

Exactly. as my common sense and logical reasoning which i have given in last post tells me that XBO should keep on getting higher sales.

[PS4] 200k
[XB1] 210k
[3DS] 70k
[WIU] 45k

Yay,this is my very first post after lurking so long.Of course my numbers are deadly accurate :p

I think he's right. Given that competitive COD is switching to PS4, that means the pros will switch. And people will follow. Since the PS4 is also getting DLC first, i can't see any way that the PS4 doesn't come out ahead.

Be careful what you wish for.
We already lost a bunch of good number-crunchers and insiders.
I do not think Zughe is one of the latter, but he surely is one of the former.
As long as he is trustworthy (and Bish-checked), just take the numbers or let it be.

I suppose the gap in sales between CoD on XBO and PS4 is relative small in US, so the advantage in install base and DLC deal / bundle could put PS4 version on the lead for Black Ops III.

That may make sense, and it does, but Zhuge was referring to trends. But trends of what? Yes, we can see many of the usual multiplatform titles performing better on PS4 but none of them ever share circumstances of COD. The closest examples I can think of are Destiny, but with the advent of new consoles and new IP, there's no established player base on either console even though there's a considerable following of bungie on Xbox. Battlefield marketing changed from PS to Xbox then back to PS but that didn't seem to do much either way.

It's also a matter of several factors which feed of each other.
The install base is one, which is a snowball effect.
There is also the contribution of the PS4 having all 3 major FPS franchises "marketing preferred" at the end of the year (beside Halo which is its own beast): Destiny, COD, Battlefront
There is also the technical performance differential (even if not always apparent, eg Destiny)
There is also the Lan capacity
There is also the early Dlc (for Destiny and COD)
...

Dammit, forgot to make my predictions this month. Just for fun I'll post mine here so I can compare to NPD figures tomorrow.

PS4 - 215k
XB1 - 225k
3DS - 95k
WIU - 45k

UGH NPD is tomorrow.

Blargh.

On the plus side, get to see how some of those heavy hitter exclusives drove share.

NPD is today? I thought those don't come out until the thursday in the middle of the month?
Anyway anybody think that the early launch might have MGSV be in the top 2 spots?

Second thursday after the tracking period ends.

MGSV should be top 2. Destiny will probably be #1.

Pretty sure that the tracking ends Aug 29, so MGSV shouldn't show.

The exclusive heavy hitter Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls also won't be in the Aug NPD, so no share will be stolen by Vita this period.

I thought he was talking about September.

Ohhhhhhhh...
