This is kind of freaking me out. I just cleared my platform and unlocked the ability to build a FOB but haven't done anything with it. I even went offline immediately.
I don't have time to play everyday and now I'm worried that I'm gonna get robbed blind. Can that really happen? If so, I wish I could go back in time not finish mission.22
That's a real problem if you're game makes me wish I could go back in time and not play it...
i'm loath to actually go back to this after 4 days because i just know a load of my staff is going to be nicked.
Horrible fucking mode that should have an opt-out.
No, since if you get invaded you're locked down for six hours. People can only invade once every six hours.

The Steps
If you have already unlocked your FOB and have beaten the mock-infiltration, then sorry, you must restart your save, or ask someone that has not completed mission 22 for their save game.
1. The first time you deploy on mission 21, shortly in the beginning of the mission you will get a call about an invasion in your MB (mission 22).
2. Accept the alert and complete mission 22.
3. Game will ask you to purchase FOB, get it. Those that restart will not need to buy it again.
4. When the tutorial for a mock-infiltration pops up, DO NOT start it. It is imperative that you NEVER complete the mock-infiltration tutorial.
5. To get out of the forced screen, break the internet connection in the game in any way you want.
That's it. Remember to never complete the tutorial.
Things to Look Out For
-If you access the iDroid while in the ACC, then you will be in the forced screen again. You must repeat step 5. If you are in your ACC, then do NOT use the iDroid while connected. Hit esc and disconnect before entering the iDroid while in the ACC.
-If you want to connect online (to get dailies or build more FOBs) without seeing the forced screen, then connect online outside of the ACC. In other words, connect in the MB, or connect during a mission, side ops, or free roam.
-Make sure you are disconnected when in the ACC.

Two weeks and nothing but 1003 errors here. Are there any Xbox One players here that are able to connect to the servers? I hate being a broken record on this, but sweet Lord in heaven I still can't fucking CONNECT. I want to do the online shit.
Indeed, it was posted earlier and clearly it should be in the OP. Actually it would be great to have info of any sort in the OP.I think someone has already posted it a few days ago. But it should've been put in the OP, just for an option.
I don't want to lose soldiers, but at the same time it's an exciting feature. It's kind of like in Watch Dogs, invading someone is awesome, and so is the thrill of hiding, but looking for the person is very stressing.
I prefer it here, since the attacker has every single chance of losing, and I have buddies, cameras, drones and mines with me. Come get some bwahahaha.
I haven't checked if I've been invaded. I've probably lost all my soldiers.
I don't think so since the game doesn't explain it very well and neither does the guide. This Wednesday at Tokyo Game Show, they're going to do a FOB presentation explaining how it works.
Hopefully they'll leave nothing unanswered.

Huh, that's weird, when I pick the decks each I can only specify the numbers of guards and various defenses + patrol zones, no lethal/non-lethal. I can only do lethal/non-lethal for All Decks. When you choose a Platform you can then choose the different decks, it will say "1st Deck", "2nd Deck", etc.
After making changes it will ask you if you want to apply the changes to all decks or just the one you've selected so just choose to only apply changes to the one you've selected.
I'm only on Mission 10 so far but have a question.
Correct if I'm wrong, but once beating Mission 22 what incentive do I have for staying connected online if I don't want to play the FOB infiltration mode?
I'm thinking I will log in for the daily reward and disconnect immediately to avoid this mode...or can you be invaded even while offline? :/
You can be invaded even while offline.
You have to skip mock-infiltration tutorial as stated on the guide above to completely avoid FOB invasions.
Thanks for that The1Ski. If you want to add FAQs or tips to the OP then I'm sure the guys posting in here can help.Added Steam community link regarding steps to avoiding the use of FOBs to the OP. When I get time I'll try and some more info on there. Good call.
If you go offline your shit can still be stolen. If you stay offline your game won't be updated with that info though... until you do eventually go online again, at which point all of your shit will be taken away simultaneously. The only way to prevent this was posted a few days ago:Just completed the tutorials and created my FOB last night. What happens if I just don't go online anymore, i.e. decline the online terms of use when booting up or immediately disconnect from the pause menu after loading up my save? Can I still lose personnel and resources?
In any case I think I'm gonna stay online at least for a few days and see how the whole thing goes. The thing that worries me the most is the cheaters since I'm playing on PC...
For those playing on PC, I found this guide detailing a way to avoid the FOB infiltrations. I can't confirm that it works, but I am a little more encouraged to start the game with this option available to me.

can you add people to the FOB ally list, if so how. ?
So, if I disable my PS4's internet connection in Network settings, can I avoid all this FOB BS so I can enjoy the SP campaign, or is it not that simple?
Somehow I'm guessing it's not...
I think I finally ran into a cheater last night. I hit this guy with a grenade launcher about 40 times and he would not die. I still beat him thought because I CQCed him and fultoned his ass out.
I wonder if defenders respawn if you fulton them.
Do the machine guns/mortars/AA guns that I fulton in the full game actually get used and/or useful in FOB or should I just sell them all?
