Final Fantasy XV - Dawn 2.0 trailer, new screenshots

Although it's a slow teaser that reveals nothing, it's still better than the first version. It's what the first Dawn teaser should have been in the first place.

But damn, we need some context already! It's getting boring to watch slow emotional scenes without knowing why the hell they are emotional.

Sorry if I wasn't paying attention to any earlier signs/notifications but wow they did a complete non-trailer again.

Yeah, in terms of providing context and telling a short story in a trailer, this does nothing. Context wise it's even worse than the first Dawn trailer.

Still, it has memorable moments at least. The first one had that long cut that didn't do it favours.

I think the point is that they're just teasing us with the story mood without much context until the full marketing blitz. The March event will likely yield a very epic trailer. For now they can only really help pass the time by releasing snippets. I know it's been a long and frustrating road but if they actually plan on releasing the game in 2016, it won't be long until we start seeing a whole lot more.

There were rumblings that they are gonna have a big ass trailer for Paris Games Week but idk. I just don't see that happening. I agree with you that the March event will yield something big. Obviously the release date as well

I think there's going to be showings at every big event from here one out. I think PGW will have a bigger and better showing since it's not difficult to top the Dawn trailers.

The French love their JRPGs. They sell well there. Remember, Tabata went to PGW out of the blue and delivered the big open field footage for the first time that really impressed people. With PlayStation having their own conference there, I think it's always been likely that it shows up there.

Yeah but the rumor was that it would be E3 2013 big in terms of trailer. While that would be awesome I just don't see that happening there. i do think we will get a non-dawn trailer though

Nomura save us.

That's actually the official screenshot, lol. Someone needs to ask Squeenix if they even bother looking at their pics before releasing them.

I mean, I'm just saying that until they roll out the heavy marketing guns, we're not going to get much for the time being. I think it would be cool if they kept releasing different versions of this trailer, but with more and more scenes that start to unravel the story a bit more until we get something more substantial. I really liked the end of this one with Noctis and Luna both walking forward like "fuck this shit," it very much makes them seem like they're going to be very engaging characters.

Hopefully. I'm sure that the story may have some confusing elements, but so far I'm not getting the impression that it's going to be a convoluted mess like FFXIII. The story seems a lot more... straightforward, at least so far. I'm being reminded a lot of the Ivalice installments, but obviously there's still a lot we don't know so it could go either way. I'm feeling optimistic though.

I like this trailer over the first dawn trailer, if only for the Luna part at the end. Love that look in her eyes while she basically silently tells the guards "Move bitch, I'm royalty".

Yeah I agree. i like the slow build up of the trailers, to hopefully a big awesome one full of hype. But for now I agree. I am content with these. I don't see why people want to see so much and have such a crazy hype trailer a year away when we don't need it yet. It would make the wait just that much harder lol

Wait, the trailer doesn't show Altissia...but the poster does? That's weird. No wonder they look different.

Not sure if this has been posted here yet (from the official twitter):

As the Oracle, Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae brushes aside the imperial soldiers surrounding her.

Oracles are supposed to be like prophets who receive messages from gods. Sounds like the kind of character that would be pretty important in FFXV's world.

It's a bad screenshot but obviously not indicative of the actual quality of the game's visuals. Not sure why they released it in that quality, but it gets me hyped.

Yeah I haven't followed everything to the nose, but seeing that prompted me to look it up for a meaning and like I said, interesting. Could just be a naming thing, could be something.

I'm sure this was square's intention, but I wholeheartedly feel that had this been the original Dawn trailer, there would not have been half as much uproar and such.

The original trailer was quite lackluster, and didn't set the tone for much of anything, where as this trailer definitely captures more of the emotion of both Noctis and Luna, and even more so of Regis.

It was admittedly short, and only SE would ever release a 2.0 of a trailer, but I think it was the right thing to do. It set the record straight, and helps to get their marketing push going in the right direction. It may have been too little too late for some people, but I also suspect that those people may be the type to just go on media blackout from here on out. If you think the trickle of info is not for you, I completely understand. The original "Dawn" killed a lot of the hype for me, but I feel like the fact that they were able to get back on message helps things, and hopefully is a sign of good things to come.

Exactly my thoughts. Whether people agree or disagree with Square's marketing strategies, they decided to restart their marketing for FFXV at Gamescom. And because of that we shouldn't expect them to show too much right now.

Whoever does their trailers needs to be fired.

Whoever is cutting the trailers is probably being instructed to do them in a certain way so that'd be several people being fired and not just the trailer editors. As being discussed, these are teasers and nothing more.

Nomura learned Latin just for Versus XIII. Lucis literally means light, and Tenebrae literally means darkness.

No Noctis walking gif at the end? C'mon Gaf don't dissapoint me.

Also, I don't mind these trailers cause once they go full spoiler mode ppl gonna be begging for the dawn type trailers.

More of the girl sitting down, waiting, being a "strong female character".

Oh, this plot is gunna be every other story about a boy everywhere, isn't it?

dammit, they'll still have my monies.

Did you watch more than 10 seconds?

Damn he looks older in that shot. Like's he seen shit.

I wouldn't say older, but the attack on Lucis scene is gone, isn't it? So they only get attacked in Accordo, lose the crystal, maybe also lose his father, if he's back in Lucis in this shot (seems to be Lucis), then I guess he's effectively King now. Unless that's before they set off on their road trip, but he's looking way too intense for it to be just a "let's have fun in Duscae" moment.

Better than the original, but it still feels like they're trying way too hard to be cool. Or maybe they're just targeting people that aren't me, I dunno. I just wish this game felt remotely confident
