God the Crash hype is starting to slightly surface and we are in September!! After this year's E3, I can see the Crash hype leading up to PSX being even worse that last year's xD

lmao if it ends up being justified

Quantic Dream just confirmed HR/BTS coming to PS4 on twitter. New news new thread? Or no?
The games themselves are not news, we know they are coming since a bit after E3 this year. They said though that we'll get a release date soon, which is great :)

My Hype-o-meter for SWWS projects:

Guerrilla Games - 10/10, Horizon is like a match made in my dreams
Level-5 - 10/10, i love their games, can't wait to see wha it turns out
Japan Studio - 9/10, it's creative japanese games, but until i see a Jrpg it won't turn to 10
Sucker Punch - 8/10, really liked inFamous 1 & SS, curious to see if the next project is another entry or a New IP
Naughty Dog - 8/10, here mostly for the graphix and wow factor, i still need to play the Uncharted Collection before going full hype. Plus TLOU2 it's too far away
Tequila Works - 8/10, Rime looks very promising, but no date is a bummer
Wild Sheeps - 8/10, same as above for WilD
Bend - 7/10, curious to see what it is, hope it's more survival focused rather than horror like Shinobi mentioned
MM - 7/10, love the idea behind Dreams, but i'm not creative not diligent enough to use their tool-game
Quantic Dreams - 7/10, again, like their old projects what attracted me most was the graphics, and their 2013 demo was outstanding
Santa Monica - 6/10, hyped for the graphix, will rise only if the next GoW has a new mythology

SSM and Bend are too low in that list and Tequila and Level 5 are too high.

Well, SSM and Bend are low because we haven't seen anything from their projects outside rumors and speculations; Tequila already shown Rime and it's incredibly charming; and L5 is an exception because i hold dear everyone of their RPGs so i am already hyped like a crazy.

Don't do this...I know after E3 everything is possible, but Crash...that's a pipe dream...

Crash is just as much of a pipe dream as FF7R, shenmue 3 and last guardian was being announced on a same event. So zip it.

I expect a Crash game or some sort of collection of sorts to be announced at his 20th anniversary. Not PSX.

As far as Sony getting something out of Crash is somewhat possible. We've seen Sony got their hands on Destiny, Pro Skater 5, and now CoD.

Problem is that it seems very clear that SCE has not been very interested in most of Insomniac's new IP pitches. Hence why Insomniac has found refuge with Electronic Arts and Microsoft lately.

Resistance should at least get a trilogy remaster on the PS4. Especially for the first one which could use a bit of a touch up and trophy support.
They wanted to own the IPs, which EA allowed and then so did MS. MS now has stated that they will be doing the same thing as Sony though, so I suspect Insomniac will be running back to Sony. Whether they do a new IP or get back to Snoozistance I don't know.

SCE would have no problem hiring High Impact or Sanzaru to develop a new Crash. But the IP licensing is still the biggest hurdle.
Sanzaru is too small to handle this kind of game. I think it needs a proper budget to really get Crash really interesting again. If people forget, it was the most successful plaformer financially during the PS1 era. It's the best franchise after Gran Turismo in terms of owned IPs.

Yesterday i randomly watched some Playstation adverts and saw that launch trailer for the Ps4 again...Some of you might remember it had severall easter eggs in it & even back then people tought this coud be hints for upcoming Ps4 Titles
But since the easter eggs were also including some Ps3 titles, most tought its just a tribute to the history of Playstation and its franchises (atleast i tought so)

YOU ARE A GENIUS :3

I can never get my head around the Crash love. I was playing Mario 64 that same generation. It's like... night and day.

Ah well, c'est la vie! More power to ye.

I haven't seen them all, but from what I have seen and know of in general, I'm anticipating Sucker Punch, Benders, and Japan Studio the most at the moment. Don't really care about the rest if I'm honest, except SSM but that's number four, even though it's more ambitious than all of these titles. (This means internal games obviously, since if we include partnerships, then there are a couple more I'm interested in.) Undecided on which of the three I want most. Sucker Punch because I really think they can knock it out of the park, and are on the verge of making something great. I've always thought highly of them, and feel they have the potential. Benders because they're covering my favourite genre, and I'm always begging for more of those games. JS, not necessarily because it's more ambitious than the other games (it's not), but because it's different, interesting, and still big enough.

All after Nathaniel Drake obviously, since he's the best of the best.

Edit:

Yeah. I've mentioned this in the past already. Bloodborne is number one, and there's an agreement for two more games. I mean, it doesn't really work like that exactly, but whatever, let's just say it like that. They're working on game two as it stands, and game three will follow after that. I don't think we have to worry about them not hitting PS4 for all three. They're machines.

Are you implying that Japan studio's jrpg won't be that large? Or is that game rivaling ff supposed to be what level 5 is working on?

I know, I just don'y want to get my hopes up too much:)

I also believe Crash will be back one day. There is simply no way Sony is going to let this extremely popular IP slide into obscurity. PS4 selling shit ton of units worldwide is only going to help this cause even more as Sony can try to rekindle some of the nostalgic memories from people. FF: VII Remake was just one of these projects.

I wholeheartedly believe Crash will be back on PS4 at some point. I will gladly eat crow if that never happens.

We don't know it's a matter of SCE not being interested, or SCE not willing to let Insomniac own the new IPs that they're pitching.

With Ratchet, the ownership already belongs to Sony in the first place. But they may not want to forfeit IP ownership of new creations over to Big Brother Sony.

I believe it was because Sony wanted to own the IP. I heard from an interview with Adam Boyes that Sony only fully funds first-party games. Sony did want to fund Sunset Overdrive but since Insomniac wanted to keep the IP it was against Sony policy. Its a shame because I hear its a great game but did not sell amazing. Would have probably sold way better on PS4 since this is where most of their fanbase is. I love Ratchet so I know I would have bought it.

I have a feeling that if Crash were to end up with Sony somehow, through either buying the IP or a partnership with Activision, it will not be a big budget game. Sony is no longer competing with Nintendo like they were back in the PS1 days, where they were pushing for Crash like crazy and giving it a great budget and what not.

If they do get it now, it would be for the fans, and it would be made probably along the same scope as Crash 1-3, which is not that expensive to make anymore. Maybe it'll be a bit more open, but those are the games the fanbase likes the best.

I'd say that if they get the IP somehow, there's a better chance of a big budget Crash Kart game than there is of a big budget Crash platformer.

I expect a Crash game or some sort of collection of sorts to be announced at his 20th anniversary. Not PSX.

(purely hypothetical if an announcement were to happen)

Well seeing as his 20th anniversary is next year, they could announce a collection (or PS1 BC for Ps4 with Crash 1-3 headlining) for 2016 at PSX, and at one of the 2016 conferences they could announce the next Crash game.

I don't want a Activision-owned Crash game. Give the IP back to SCEA. SCEA should buy the IP finally. That's what the fans want.

the partnership between Sony und Activision is stronger than ever. Even Call of Duty (i think it was 7 years on xbox) switched to Ps4 in terms of marketing/exclusivity/tournaments
i could well imagine, that the IP of Crash Bandicoot is also included in this partnership.

And also a Crash doesn't need to sell 6-7 Mio like in the past, to be profitable for Sony
A proper Marketing with their mascot and 2-3 Mio sold copies would be damm fine (especially for a platformer)

Sony would have their mascot back, could use the charakter/franchises in several ways (allstars, karting game) and especially please the core audiende

this game looks so great. Never played an Persona Game, but everything i saw so far, makes me more and more excited

2016 is the year

yep it probaby wont happen. Driveclub is levels ahead of other racing games in terms of graphic

If you guys can hang on to your crash dreams than surely i can believe in the miracles that are Suikoden VI and Dark Cloud 3
The thing is those aren't as crazy because they aren't wrapped up in insurmountable licensing issues like Crash is. Sony can't even get Crash games on Vita. They won't be able to buy back the IP.

Dark cloud 3 sure but theres no way in hell do i believe for a second sukioden is coming back. Im hoping they get put on ps classics for ps4 at least so i can enjoy the old ones without dusting off my old systems

Has Sony made any comments suggesting whether they would do ps1/ps2 for ps4?

SCE Connected Content Group i is not a separate developer, they are a team within SCE London Studio. They are basically a networking team but they get to develop Hardware Rivals to kind of test the technology. But they are SCE London.

PixelOpus is basically the game development arm of SCE San Mateo, but I guess they chose to use that wacky "distinct name" instead of SCE San Mateo.

Great summary mate !
& I really think the last three will be real ! Sony wont dissapoint us

They are still an own team with an own name. So it's okay to name them separately.
Their game won't get labeled as a SCEE London Studio game. There is a reason why SCE says "Developed by SCE Connected Content Group." without mentioning SCE London Studio. They want to be recognized as a separate team. So lets do it like they want it.

Saying "they are still SCE London Studio" is like saying "the ICE Team is Naughty Dog" and "the XDEV studio is Studio Liverpool/Psygnosis". They are not.

PixelOpus is a small dev team in SCEA's headquarter in San Mateo. A team which consists of former game design students and is part of SCE Worldwide Studios. So they are an own team, with an own name, and they are making their own games. It's absolutely okay the list them here as a single team. Why? Because they are. And they want us the do it. Therefore their own name.

ok then i will edit them out
Actually, you don't have to.

No, but Eurogamer reported that it was in the works last year, PEGI rated some PS2 games for PS4 a few days ago, and a PS2 game was seen on Live from Playstation on PS4. Plus, this November there will be three PS2 Star Wars games on PS4. This all adds up to a lot of speculation that it will be announced soon, perhaps even at PGW.

I'm pretty sure PixelOpus is its own studio. They're fostered in a larger studio but Sony categorizes them independently. They're branded separately and were announced as a new studio last year.

I know right. Mario 64 was such a huge disappointment coming off of the masterpiece SNES Mario games. Crash was a much better take on 3d platforming. ;D

My Hype-o-meter for SWWS projects (stolen from some guy on this page):

Guerrilla Games - 8/10, Horizon looks awesome but Guerilla Games has hurt me too much and I am expecting a 2017 release.
Level-5 - 10/10 Ni no Kuni is a beautiful and fantastic game. If they can make a game like that on PS4, my god.
Japan Studio - 10/10 Verendus says they are working on like 4 JRPGs or something (one being a massive AAA one). There is also Gravity Daze 2, The Last Guardian and other smaller titles. I am most interested in announcements from them.
Sucker Punch - 6/10 I like the inFamous games but their scope is too small with dead open worlds and awful, awful city sounds for their last two games. Their graphics are top notch but I want more from inFamous. It should have side quests like The Witcher and free roam multiplayer (it's already a TPS) and multiplayer modes with different powers. I want more than just another inFamous with better graphics.
Naughty Dog - 4/10 I know they aren't announcing anything new and we've already seen how Uncharted plays. The only thing I am curious about is Uncharted 4 multiplayer.
Tequila Works - 1/10 This game looked amazing but looked like it was inspired by Team ICO. Unfortunately, it seems to be too inspired by Team ICO. Looking forward to playing it on PS5.
Wild Sheeps - 10/10 WiLD is supposedly the size of Europe. The trailer appeared to show players playing as animals which is my fetish. More games need that. Also, you can play as humans, skeletons and there is an open world. The game looks like a dream.
Bend - 7/10 Uncharted: Golden Abyss was trash so I'm cautious. However, Shinobi's comparisons to The Last of Us with its survival elements and the open world are intriguing.
Mm - 20/10 The graphics and artstyle are incredible. The game's concept is even better. It's basically like LittleBigPlanet where you can play Mm made levels as story mode and user made levels online. The difference is that it is all in 3D so people will make RPGs, FPS's, 3D platformers, racing games, movies, art and pretty much anything anyone can think of (all playable in multiplayer, of course). I will be thinking of animals, of course.
Quantic Dreams - 8/10 The Kara demo was incredible and The Dark Sorcerer had a cool premise. I like QD games but the writing is sometimes wonky. This will be the first game where David Cage isn't the sole writer and I know it's being announced next month so I'm pretty excited.
Santa Monica - 5/10 The hints make it sound like another God of War game (and I'm expecting Kratos), which I don't want from SM, since they can do so much more. I'm looking forward to the insane graphics though.
