Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is a glitchy mess

I meant it wasn't included on the disc, but I can see I should have worded it better. So I fixed it. Thanks guys.

How the fuck they released a game like this and still charge full price is beyond me.

Holy shit.
Guess contractual obligation, like when they released X-Men Dimensions. Heck, Tony Hawk has been talking about this game more than Activision per se. :p

Well, he apparently could only play the tutorial before today. Maybe the tutorial is super tight.

I am simultaneously sad about this because like many I have fond memories of the original THPS games, but I can't help but be pleased at the fact that it will make amazing gif material.

What exactly does Sony's QA department check for? If the game is going to make the PS4 spontaneously combust?

I remember that some time ago "Pro" was a pretty big series of games for Activision. There was titles like Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 1&2 or Shaun Palmer Pro Snowboarder and every one of them was at least good. Why this type of games is not popular anymore? Making THPS5 a budget game means that Activision was not expected great sales anyway. Or maybe they just don't want to invest serious money in any titles except CoD, I don't know.

Damn, even after that huge patch it's still a mess.

I need to warn some friends who could buy this out of nostalgia.

Funny, it didn't seem that bad in the twitch stream the other day. 'tis a shame though...I was hoping that THPS5 would be decent

Hmmm... Matt Hoffman was pretty dire.

There was a bit of a surge in extreme sports games thanks to the first Tony Hawk game, which no-one really expected to do well. That's kind of over now though, and unfortunately it's always going to be a bit of a niche area. The companies that can make those games can no longer afford to take the risk.

There was a new BMX game being worked on, with an emphasis on realism like Skate, but I don't think it'll ever see the light of day. Hopefully someone else can give more detail.

edit - the BMX game might still be being worked on!

I don't think they've said anything critical yet.

I guess the check cleared.

9/10 confirmed.

The worst thing is you can tell they want to talk shit but every time someone starts to voice it, the other deflects it and changes the subject.

Just happened: Zach starts to criticize the load screen, "It's gotta kind of a weird loading sequence though, right?" Marty retorts, "You've got a weird loading sequence." They laugh and drop it. I really like Marty too but it feels pretty scummy.

I wasn't interested in a new Tony Hawk much. It's kind of sad, but It's way better that this game is a fucking mess, since now I'm getting some interest from it.

Hey lets get rid of Neversoft and have robomodo, makers of ride, make the first mainline Tony Hawk game in about a decade!

...it depresses me that people are paid way more money than me to make decisions like this.
