Batman Arkham Knight PC re-release Oct. 28th

Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in and remind you all how SUPER weird it is to get mad at a developer for the quality of a game they didn't make. I mean, it'd almost be like if I stepped into the Uncharted thread and started screaming about Quantic Dream. Crazy, right?

Perhaps your anger should be directed at the people who make the decisions of who will develop what game, and how long they have to do it... hm... like, a "publisher" or something...

Rocksteady were taking credit before the thing launched, they can take blame after it turned out to be shit.

What settings and what framerates?

Absolute max at 1080p. Mainly around 90 with dips to around 70. At one point in the game, i dont remember where, it did go down into the 30s for a minute or so.

Lucky you, you must not be very sensitive to frametimes fluctuation.
I certainly notice them but it's not a deal breaker at all though.

I notice dips as i'm neurotic and keep my FPS counter up at all times.

Rocksteady has put their blood, sweat and tears into this game and people just shit on them? People have mouths to feed, they could be digging ditches or something like that but they chose to create a wonderful Batman experience and their reward for such an accomplishment is to be a target for people's ire. And why? Because people's machines aren't as powerful as they think they are?

lol

I think people are still mad and everything, but considering I got this for $15... can I confortably run this 30 fps locked with everything maxed (970 + i5 4460 + 8gb)

And does the game looks better or at least on par with the PS4 version?

What is this rain bug?

I have a 980ti/i7-4770k/16gb Ram/1440p Gsync and it ran like shit before, mostly in the 40's with constant dips down into the 10's. I'll install now and see how it runs.

Dynamic objects (I am not sure if world objects do) have an animated overlayed pitter patter rain texture on them. When you first load up the game the density of rain is correct and tiled nicely on the surface, when you load up the save ever again... it is incorrectly tiled and it looks like it is raining less.

It is completely weird.
It runs good for me now. 60 FPS at 1080p, haven't seen it dip once.

i7 5930K
32GB RAM
980 TI

Could you perhaps run the test I posted here?

Damn, some say it runs good, some say it runs bad, I'm buying this next week on either X1 or PC so I'm hoping to hear more positives for that 1440p+ goodness.

What is your rig? It runs better than the console version on pretty much every rig, but it does not run up to the standards which it should.

You can do a prolonged spinning donut in the Batmobile with smoke effects on and it only dips to the 70s?

What CPU do you have?

I have a 980ti with a 2500k @ 4.5, at 1440p, and my game drops into the 40s occasionally while driving through lots of debris, and sometimes while Batman is just gliding from high up. This is with every Nvidia setting on.

lol, wut?

Rocksteady didn't even do the PC port themselves... what are you going on about?

i5-2500k, 2x4GB GTX 670s(though I mainly use 1 now), 8GB RAM.

haha! Not a chance on this one. Even it you put all the settings at the lowest 1440p is way out of the ballpark for you.

Go with a used X1 copy so you aren't giving any money to the dev.

Wat? His rig will run it better as long as he locks it to 30. It will look better too.... While this is a poor port, it is not worse than the console versions with a 680 with 4Gig VRAM. That is adequate... especially if NV gets SLI working.

But there is no way to "reset" the effect? When you load the first time, it's bugged forever?

*single 670

And I don't believe them that it is NV's fault their many month old game doesn't support SLI. Good luck waiting on that to be implemented.

A single 680 with 4 gigs (so it wont vram thrash), someone in the other thread posted how they were getting 45 fps settings minus NV FX @ 1080p with a very similar set up.

As long as one aims for 30, pretty much every rig can do it. It is just those who aim higher who are very disappointed. AFAIK; 30 fps is better than the console verisons.

Did you even read his post?
He has SLI 670s and wants that "1440p" goodness.

He isn't getting it with a 670 at any decent frame-rate.

oh, my brain kept reading 680. lol

you are right.

If he went for 1080p that would be fine though. Better than 900p on xb1 w/ drops to low 20s IMO.

Ha, ha, yep, since my monitor is 1440p native, it's a South Korean PLS monitor that goes up to 120hz.

I'm surprised at how this version turned out TBH.

4790k @ 5ghz
16GB ram
Titan X @ 1500/8200
Everything max
Chromatic Abberation/Film Grain off)
All NVIDIA settings on
2880x1620 (Downsampled on a 1440p gsync)

Play with 90 FPS cap, haven't dipped below 65-70 FPS yet and haven't since their first big patch.

Around the city on foot it's around 80-85 fps, during a fight with a ton of guys indoors it goes between 70-80. Batmobile driving and just hitting everything i can while boosting around the lowest i got was 65 FPS.

Checked VRAM usage too, with this resolution and these settings, you're looking at 5.3GB of vram.

Also tested 4k, same settings but with anti-aliasing off. Lowest FPS i saw was 45 during batmobile sections, but this uses about 6.5GB of vram. Could easily get 60 fps smooth if you sacrifice a few settings

Do I need to even say anything alongside this image?

Ahah oh god, fuck WB...they're actually pulling a Konami.

Can someone tell me POST patch how this will run on a 680gtx, i7 3820, 16gb ram @1080p. I beat it on PS4 and loved every minute of it but if I can get it on the cheap ($15) id love to play it on PC with my new Xbone WIRELESS controller. I'm just looking for 30+ fps.

The game is still not properly optimized. and for some reason I can't capture the game footage or stream it on Twitch, did they disable the feature?

It's running smoothly for me. My specs:

Core I5-4670k @ 3.4GHz
GTX 970
16 GB RAM
G-Sync Monitor

Running all the normal settings maxed, but I turned off all of the Nvidia-only options and it looks beautiful.

Maybe I'm missing something? Seems most people are still upset. This is a far cry from the stuttery launch mess.

You have 16 Gigs of RAM. I assume most people run 8 is the thing.

Wow, I expected it to run nowhere nearly as smooth as it does for me. It's actually pretty okay, yeah, frametimes aren't as consistent as I'd like them to be, they're not good but they're not terrible, the overall image is really quite smooth.

I have only had a quick go of it so far, driving the batmobile around, flying around, etc, but I can see myself playing this through and not being all that distracted by the performance. My FPS range was no lower than 65fps and average somewhere between 75 - 85fps with no big dips.

I'm playing it at 2560x1440 on:

i7 4770K @ 4.6Ghz
16GB RAM
GTX 980Ti
Game on an HDD (I had it on an SSD when it first came out)
G-Sync

All NVIDIA settings off with all other settings max.

I'm fairly happy, not overall, of course this game could and should have been so much better on PC, but I can see myself playing and enjoying it in this state.. providing my 5 or so minutes of gameplay wasn't representative and I run into some real problems in some particular areas - what I tested is what gave me a lot of problems at launch (batmobile, general navigation outside of the batmobile and fighting) and that was all fine.

Benchmark results for whatever it matters (I don't think it's all that representative): http://i.imgur.com/DW8qItg.jpg - of course ignoring the minimum, that 13fps is from when the benchmark hasn't really loaded.

It was unplayable for me on 6 GB of ram, I doubt it has improved. Fallout will probably be the same but I don't want to spend any money on memory I have no use for in a few months.

Game runs great for me at max except for two NVidia options I don't have access to. That said I have 16GB of RAM.

...

BUT GODDAMN IT THE POP-IN NOW IS INSANE WHAT THE HELL. I can see stuff pop-in at a pretty close distance when I'm driving the Batmobile. It's pretty crazy.

that price. Im not sure what I expected, but it wasnt 45€ (or 83€ for the premium lol). At least a sale or something

It ran ok for me at launch (main complaint is how long it takes for the game to load up), I've not really seen a huge difference from the start to how it's been patched. Arkham Knight has always run as good as Asylyum, City and Origins did (not always flawless, a micro stutter here or there but otherwise perfect).

I dont remember ever doing spinning donuts with the smoke effect to see what framerate was sorry. Processor is i7 4790k @ 4.8.

1080p to 1440p is like 1.7x the pixels iirc too. Could be why you drop to 40s while i'd be at 70s.

Ehh......running 2 980ti's and not even hitting 60fps at 2560x1440 during the performance test.

Msi GTX 980ti 6G x2
i5 4690k @4.2
32GB 1866 ram
2560x1440 Gsync monitor

I already played through it at release with 2 970's, but this is still super janky.

I played the first 30 mins or so again with some flying around and street brawls.

My specs:

GTX 980ti
I7-4770k@3.8Ghz
16gb ram
SSD
1440p/Gysnc

Every setting at max.

It seems to hover around 50fps or so. Mostly 45 on the ground, 50-55 up in the air. Never really hitting above 60 though. Not as good as I was hoping but much better and WAY more consistent than before. Gsync really helps in this case. It's pretty smooth for the most part. I could probably turn off a few gameworks specific effects and get +60 if I wanted. Not great considering its on an Nvidia flagship card, but again much better than before. I will say I'm NOT impressed how this whole thing was handled at all, but it's at least in a playable state for me. The AA is awful, it looks like it has Vaseline all over it.

It does work though, so there's that.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have SLI support.

Who's going to tell him....

Eh, I'm getting an average of 40fps with no drops bellow 30 at UHD with max setting including nvidia effect and max texture filtering.

It's kind of nice that the nvidia effect no longer seem to have any impact on the frame rate any more. I get 2 less fps with them off than I do with them on.

Before the patch I was getting 24 average when in the bat mobile.

Just taken this for a spin to see how it runs for me now.

i7-5930K
2x 4GB GTX 970
16GB DDR4
Everything at max.

1080p is actually pretty smooth now, though my system ain't that old & I have 16GB of RAM so it damn well should lol. I'm still seeing frame rate dips here and there though (usually in the 50s, the lowest I saw was 45) but it's managing to stay at 60 more often than not. In comparison to before (at original release) the frame rate was literally all over the place, hitting much lower numbers than that and actually made me feel sick it was so bad. This is much better, at least for me, though I usually play stuff higher than 1080p.

Upped the resolution to 1440p (with the Nvidia options off this time) and whilst the frame rate does go higher at times (and dips into the 30s too), it's mostly around the 40s.

Anyway, definitely an improvement on my end but even with my system it's still not quite there, imo. Gonna wait for SLI support (which I was going to do anyway) & hopefully further improvements, then give it another look. I hope to be able to play at 1440p/60 but even if I played it now I can't maintain 60fps at 1080 so would rather wait a bit longer. Game does look great though.
