Batman Arkham Knight PC re-release Oct. 28th

It's running much better, but SLI is not working, and there is still stuttering as well as frame drops down to 50. Should I be disabling sli and assigning my second 970 to physx only?

Everything maxed, 1600p and 30fps locked (with RTSS).

Looks great! Not 60 fps but 30 locked is good enough for me. Plus, I can crank the resolution.

And you believe that is reasonable performance for the hardware you have? You have the same hardware as me (apart from me having 32gb of ram) and my 3970x is overclocked as well but if I was getting anything below 60fps at 1080p (with nvidia effects turned off) I would be disgusted.

Frankly even with nvidia effects turned on it should be above 60, origins managed it.

When you have a game like GTA V that does far more, much bigger, more AI, frankly better graphics and you can keep that at a solid 60fps there is literally no excuse for this.

I actually mistyped my CPU I have a 4970k. That all being said I love the performance in the game now. Would I like to get better? Sure. That being said it still blows away the console performance and looks far better.

Drops to around 45frames

Shucks...

I52500k@4.2ghz, rest of the system the same.

Dips to 40-45.

Everything low/off.

Same as pre-patch.

I've completed it already, but I was hoping for a 60fps playthrough on new game. Uninstalling for good I think.

I was hoping for a 60fps run too. I even held back playing the game for this long. The fact is that I have wanted a PC for many years, finally got one and I may as well have just played this on my PS4. In fact, I still will play it on my PS4 (my gf's copy) because in my mind I know it performs well for that system. If I were to play it on my PC now I'd just have the feeling of disappointment clouding me.

I had hoped that this would be better with the relaunch, but it appears not. I don't think I'll be picking this up, as much as I enjoyed the other games in the series.

It's a shame that the series left on such a sour note. I think this would disqualify it from being distinguished at the end of the year.

Fuck... I just checked GMG to find this:

Warner Bros. released a patch for Batman: Arkham Knight on September 3rd, fixing a large number of the gameplay issues customers were facing, and as such we will no longer be honouring refund requests for this title.

What a load of bullshit. I should spam them with all the slideshow videos of the game in action that have been posted in this thread.

Game runs great for me at max except for two NVidia options I don't have access to. That said I have 16GB of RAM.

...

BUT GODDAMN IT THE POP-IN NOW IS INSANE WHAT THE HELL. I can see stuff pop-in at a pretty close distance when I'm driving the Batmobile. It's pretty crazy.

Maybe it's supposed to shimmer in Assassin's Creed style :D

Did you really wait this long to ask for a refund?

I picked it up for £7 awhile back in the hopes it would be fixed one day, but it seems 60fps without dips is still not possible which is a joke. I'm not sure if I'll ever bother with it honestly.

Did you really wait this long to ask for a refund?

I assume he wanted to see if the final patch actually fixed the game or not.

Such a shame seeing how bad they've screwed up this version of the game and the likelihood of me actually playing it now is much smaller

With all the games coming out the next few months I'm just gonna wait on a ridiculous sale or a goty version of this game.

These guys are a piece of work, 1.5x the ram of a PS4 is necessary for a smooth experience on win 10.

Guess I'll finally be able to play Blackgate, in December...

i gave in and downloaded it.

it runs well (around 30 - 45fps) for a while only with a few long hitches here and there, then after as certain amount of time it just crashes, then a error window pop ups

my system is
Windows 10 Premium
AMD FX-6300
8GB 1866MHz memory
AMD R9 380 4GB

I already own all of the batman games, except the blackgate prison one. Oh well, bring on Fallout 4.

edit: I tried to record some gameplay but when the game crashed the video file got busted.

Framerate isnt to bad but I keep experiencing frequent pauses / lots of HD activity which really detracts from the experience.

Nearly 2.5 when you take into account the 3GB reserved by Sony and MS for their consoles. It's even more when you factor in VRAM and the game's total memory usage.

i7 4690k
16GB RAM
GTX 970 4GB
Everything Max w/ all Nvidia Effects Enabled

In order to stay within the V-RAM limits with everything enabled, I reduced resolution until 720p. I don't actually mind the hit to image quality like some. However, I consistently get 59fps with Adaptive V-sync lock so I don't really care.

Yeah, stuttering is the real problem with this garbage port. How bad it is varies from person to person, even people with the same fucking hardware! AK on PC is the devil's gift to gaming.

Post from other thread:

Still running pretty good for me for the most part since the Sept. patch.

i7 4790k @ 4.0Ghz
16GB DDR3-1600
GTX 980 Ti 6GB
Windows 10 64 bit
2560x1440 144hz
G-Sync on
150 max FPS cap with ini tweaks
All settings to the max, including Gameworks effects (Film grain off)

The lowest framerate I got after doing a quick test of gliding and driving around was about 53 fps, usually hovers anywhere between 60-100 or so.

It stutters occasionally, but I imagine this happens when it has to stream in new assets. All in all, I'm not bothered by it, but I recognize the biggest factors in my experience are G-Sync and a 980 Ti. If I were to cap framerate to 60, I would imagine it would be even smoother for me.

All people who are happy with performances have GTX 970 or better card. Issue is that game runs poorly for other 80% (I am guessing) of users who have older GPU.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Source? On the Steam Forums some people asked the moderator, Laptop65, who told them he couldn't say for now and that it's going to be answered in a future announcement.

It's an assumption based on the language in the announcement (that the games will appear in user libraries rather than inventories). Laptop65 is a moderator, not a Valve employee or WB representative, so people hitting him up about the matter is pointless.

Alright so I did a fresh install of the game tonight and had a great experience, no sarcasm at all. I had to settle for 30 FPS but it feels great with a gamepad and looks fantastic, truly. Here are my settings:

i5-2500k
8 GB RAM
GTX 780

30 FPS solid, nearly 100% of the time. Played for about an hour and a half, Batmobile stuff included, with no noteworthy stuttering. Like I said, so far a great experience.

If anyone is having a rough time on a similar rig, maybe try a fresh installation?

I'm amazed by this. After such a long time and several patches they "re-release" it with instructions to close and open the game if the game starts stuttering.
And not only that the steam bundle is more expensive than the individual items combined.

I stopped playing it because I couldn't complete the escort mission because it wouldn't load terrain fast enough. Suddenly all textures got blurry and the mobile just fell through the ground making me fail the mission because I got too far away from the target.

Seeing how it performed on PS4 I'm actually wondering how it would've performed if they had access to dx12/vulkan from the start.

Shucks...

That cant be true. I have the same specs and set everything to max except NVIDIA stuff and I get 60fps with dips to 55fps when loading/streaming stuff.

they need to do something about the vram and fix sli.

I think the game's just a no-go if you only have 2GB of VRAM. I posted it in the other thread but my 2GB 670 just cannot grunt out a solid 30FPS no matter the settings. Everything set to Off or Low at 1080p, and it's reasonably solid indoors and rubbish out in the open world. The game looks woeful with textures at Low, but it wants around 3GB of VRAM for Normal and it's just stutter city if I try and crank it up.

Apparently the game's minimum specs (it recommends a 2GB 660 GTX) are based around playing at 720p, which is absurd.

Fuck this game is VRAM hungry maxed out.

Texture filtering and LOD shifting is still shit, and seems more noticable than ever before. Low quality viarents are loaded into pretty early making distant imagery, like looking down at the road, pretty murky.
