LEGO Dimensions |OT| Not Lost Dimensions

If you thought Portal 2 was short don't buy BTTF.

That bad? I mean, I'm a bit of a completionist, so I'll HAVE to buy it eventually...But why are they making these adventures so short? I'm assuming this was a general complaint when they first released?

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Any idea of how long it takes to complete ?

I played the level for 45 minutes last night and am still not done with it.

Haven't even touched the hub world yet. TARDIS and K9 are both great.

We should all be bombarding the devs with requests for a full Lego Doctor Who. It would be amazing.

Any chance of a mini review when you complete it ?

Scooby doo team.
The wicked witch so I can access the Oz hub world.

Got Benny fun pack yesterday. That cracked helmet is too cute. Now we wait for Unikitty.

Is there a Ghostbusters section in the main game, or will the level pack be its first introduction?

Base pack has Ghost Buster level. It's very very fun.

Damnit i really don't want to wait until i get a PS4 sometime next year to play this... but unfortunately i have found NO information on the PS3 version, not even a review and it looks like NO ONE owns this version and can compare it to the PS4 one.

The toys will work on both versions. Grab PS3 on black Friday, and wait for a good sale on the ps4 next year. You'll already have the portal, so you may be able to just buy the PS4 software used next year.

Man I bought it just for the Dr Who pack.

BTW there is a glitch in the tutorial where you may not get the instructions to build the batmobile. You have to restart the game.

BTW there is a glitch in the tutorial where you may not get the instructions to build the batmobile. You have to restart the game.

You can pull up the instructions by making sure batman is on the toy pad and then holding down triangle (or equivalent) and picking the bottom option in the character select wheel.

These are attached to the character. So when you want to upgrade a vehicle or whatever, you need the corresponding character rather than the corresponding vehicle on the pad. Level pack mini figs have two instruction sets attached to them, in team packs, each character will have one instruction set attached to them.

Hopefully this helps.

No it doesn't work if you get the glitch.
May have been patched in the 6.7 G update though.

Wait, what? I was under the impression that you have to buy the base pack/starter pack for each console separately if you want to play on that console and that there are no versions for the level packs and fun packs?

I could be wrong, but Disney infinity uses the same portal on ps3/ps4. It's the Xbox versions that have issues. Maybe someone with both versions cans confirm this? If 1 portal works on both platforms, you could potentially just need the software for the PS4.

I was under the impression that all the portals for Lego dimensions are exactly the same, in fact I'm banking on it as I want to move to the PS4 version (from Wii U) at some point too!

In Disney Infinity Wii U worked on the PS3 and vice versa. Xbox and Xbox one only worked on their own individual console.

The PS4/PS3/Wii U share the same portal. The Xbox 360 has its own, as does the Xbox One.

Ok so what does this mean then? I can buy the starter pack for say PS3 now, play it on my PS3, then later buy a PS4 and keep using it? The level packs are for every console as well right? So why ARE there even different versions available then for the PS4/PS3/Wii U ones? I could literally buy the Wii U starter pack and start playing on my PS3 then?

You'd still need the disc at least for each platform I suppose.

Erm, well, you need the game disc too.

Dr. Who Tardis Spoilers:
So what do you guys think on Jetsons and Flinstones coming to the franchise? These two are found in Mr. burns office and Simpsons Level Pack.

Those sound like a perfect fit considering other franchises in the game already. They've both got iconic vehicles and fun characters to throw into things. Plus their worlds would be pretty fun to play in too!

I'd pick up a
Fred Flintstone and his car pack and a George Jetson and his space-car pack
easily. Or some team packs would be cool too. I could see
Rosie the Robot
being one of those 'vehicle' characters you can change like the Dalek, K-9, or the Velociraptor.

Riiiiight ;) actually that was what i forgot! So the different versions DO make sense. However, in reality that means that you DO need to buy the whole starter pack for a different console AGAIN since you need the disc or do they come separately?

You can usually find the game disc used.

You can buy a digital version of 2.0 or 3.0 on most consoles.

My situation, for example:

Had 2.0 on the 360.

Bought 3.0's physical starter pack for Wii U, so we had a Wii/Wii U/PS3/PS4 pad and the figures.

Bought digital 3.0 for 360. Used 2.0 360 pad for playing that, along with the figures/playset from the 3.0 Wii U starter.

Full experience on both platforms.

Total stuff owned for that:

- 2.0 on 360 (game, pad)
- 3.0 on Wii U (game, pad)
- Digital 3.0 on 360 (game, uses 2.0 pad)

It works out well if you want to do multiple platforms but not double up on pads or figures, or plan on switching platforms in the future. I know my brother got 2.0 for his kids on their Wii and then got 3.0 digitally on their Wii U and used the same pad (then picked up the standalone Star Wars playset pack).

So if you don't want the included Clone Wars Star Wars pack you could buy 2.0 (comes with pad, Thor, Iron Man, and Black Widow) and then get 3.0 digitally for the upgraded toybox and new figures and playsets.

Your situation would be really impressive if we were talking about infinity, not lego dimensions. Granted, we were comparing how the portal from infinity transfers.

Ghostbusters level probably the same but not out yet
Scooby Doo Team £26.99
Wizard of Oz Fun Pack £14.99

This game is terrible for keeping my attention. I'm forcing myself to not touch the open world exploration stuff until I finish the main story. I just want to tinker
and buy more stuff fuuuuuuuuck
.

That's what I did. Did the story in 17 hours (took my time) and now I am slowly going through the Hub Worlds.

Benny's Spaceship is a game changer btw. Did NOT know you can fly that high.

Stop it ;;

The Doctor Who pack is what will break me, I know it.

Then I'll have to get the Portal pack, Simpsons pack and Back to the Future pack. Won't get any of the Fun or Team packs though. That's where I draw the line :p

Just under £200 to do that :(

No Scooby Doo team pack then?? O:

This is pretty similar to my list. I'm gonna crack and buy the BTTF packs too though, because I missed out on the actual BTTF set and this will be my only way to get those figures and their awesome mini builds.

When all is said and done I want

Starter Pack
Portal LP
BTTF LP
Scooby Doo TP
Doc Brown FP
Doctor Who LP
Doctor Who FP
Ghostbusters LP
StayPuft FP
Slimer FP

Sigh

And in all honesty I'll probably wind up with at least all the Level Packs, I'd hate to leave such large chunks of the game unexplored. Heard Simpsons is pretty good and the last one is the Arcade Kid right?

And I guess I'll have to buy the Wicked Witch to unlock that world... unless I can do that "Use studs to swap characters for 30 seconds" thing they just implemented to become the Witch, unlock the zone, and then play through it with someone else?

Ok i think i got all the info i need now. Probably going with the PS3 starter pack now and hoping it doesn't have any major problems (load times, frame rate issues like the Wii U version apparently, extremely inferior graphics, no planned DLC anymore etc.) since it really seems NOBODY even bought this version, or at least i couldn't find ANY feedback whatsoever on it after googling it for a good long while now :(

Ok I screwed up. I was building a vehicle for the new ninjago team pack and accidentally turned off the toy instructions before setting the toy tag. How can I get them back up?

Well, the wicked witch is only a fun pack. Scooby doo is a team pack. the core set comes with a lego movie character. I'm not sure about the ninjago stuff personally.

Just gonna bump what I put on the last page.

Can somebody very kindly if they don't mind too much, write me a list down of all the current possible hub worlds that we can access so far. I want to write them all down in a little notebook so I know if I'm going to accidentally miss any, and so I can know which characters I'll have to buy for them.

Thank you :)

Also how long is each hub world?

I beat the Doctor Who level last night. It took me about 3 hours and I didn't do all the side stuff. The adventure world has a ton of side missions as well. There are lots of monster cameos and being able to regenerate is a major bonus. The TARDIS interior changes along with the music. I can't wait to play it some more this weekend.

There are too many fun games out right now going into next week. I need a month off to play.

Hopefully Best Buy will have Lego Dimensions on sale for Black Friday.

Went to Best Buy to grab Dr. Who, but it was sold out. So I grabbed BTTF, Jurassic World, and the Ninjago Team Pack. Trying to pick everything up over the next few weeks. GCU saving me 20% off each pack is pretty amazing.

Fun Packs are going to be the worst since they're so expensive for what you get. Hoping to see a good deal/sale on things to alleviate the damage to my wallet.

E: On the Dr. Who section of the base game. The part I'm at is actually somewhat creepy. Nice!

How long IS the base game?

I think you're maybe just under halfway through the main levels.

£79.99.

I went into GAME beforehand to get Zoroark and saw they're charging £99.99 for the Wii U version. I saved £27 just by going to Smyths.
