That sounds understandable, still doesn't stop 90% of all developers making the jiggle wayy too strong.
Even worse when they're jiggling like crazy while visibly wearing a bra, are wearing some sturdy armor or are wearing like three layers of tops and still jiggle like they're wearing nothing. I mean come on.
You guys on both sides are lucky I'm not in charge, there'd be tasteful, conservative outfits for the entire roster!
There's no doubt that a lot of jiggle is over the top. But visual physics in general in games is still off. Can you think of a form of physics in games that actually looks completely natural? You've got stuff like cloth physics that may look better, but it still doesn't move exactly like real cloth. It's something that's never really going to look completely right, but it'll eventually get to a point where it's good enough that you won't really care that it's not completely perfect.
I thought that artile was interesting as while some Japanese and Korean developer represent the side where it's too over the top, basically every western developer (and in particular American developers) represent the other side. Where breasts simply don't move one inch. Which is amazing since western devs in general have become absolutely obsessed with realism. Dirt accumulating under finger nails, chest hair moving in the wind, pupils reacting realistically, hair moving naturally etc. But the breast physics seem to be the one area that they want nothing to do with.
That's because over here it would be a big deal despite being one of many ways they try to emulate realism. In Japan, they're too busy buying used panties from vending machines to give a shit. There's no doubt that a lot of jiggle is over the top. But visual physics in general in games is still off. That's true. I'd aim for tasteful, and there would be a lot less skin indeed. I wonder if I'd effectively kill Street Fighter I don't think we're the same crowd as the DOA crowd, for example.Conservative and tasteful are not necessarily in the same level.

Against uptight ass Americans, yes.Isn't this a bit racist?

There's absolutely a DOA or SF crowd (and a VF, MK, Tekken, KOF, SSB, etc. crowd) since different series have different design philosophies (even though they can overlap, I play most fighters). There would be an outrage if Mortal Kombat's violence was toned down to Street Fighter levels (this has kind of happened, actually), or if DOA's fanservice would be toned down to Virtua Fighter levels. But less skin is not always right or tasteful.
A lot of the DOA outfits are gorgeous and my girlfriend really likes them. Male have more problems with nudity than girls lol.
There's no a "DOA" or "SF" crowd. There are people who like some outfits and people who don't

But it applies to outfits too! Each game has its own aesthetic style.I know but i was talking only about outfits. I don't think every SF fan doesn't want one sexy costume. But it's just the opinion of someone that likes both series so i can be wrong.
Actually, is Virtua Fighter that was toned up to DOA levels in DOA5

How come we're a minority? :[I'd rather have neither gender sexualised in my fighting game and have the focus on characters looking like people you wouldn't want to mess with. Though that's just me.

With that said I think the SF5 female roster is pretty dire.

Who said it was wrong? There's also nothing wrong with pugs, but I don't want Ryu to wear a pug costumeBecause there's nothing wrong with sexy things in video games

I don't like it, personally, yeah.I mean, you agreed with the person who said they didn't want sexualized characters in the game, so I assume that you would think something is wrong with it, but maybe I misunderstood?
Seriously, people really think it's what women find "sexy" in men ? Seeing a bunch of testicles in the air ?But this idea that the proper way of balancing is to put men in coquettish, feminine positions and add penis physics is so ridiculously stupid I can't take anyone seriously who thinks that's the right way to go.

It's not really nonsense. Kotaku actually posted an interesting article on breast physics
http://kotaku.com/how-video-game-breasts-are-made-and-why-they-can-go-so-1687753475
Doesn't change the fact that that the jiggle shown here is nonsense. Unless you're randomly assuming Capcom is the one that got it perfectly right.
P1's side barely had any breast jiggle though so I was under the impression the glitch was P2's side having breast jiggle.
I'm thinking it was a glitch but players liked it so much they decided to leave it in.
Breast physics are really hard to animate. To me is much more stupid when it's static. So ugly.
I have no problem with keeping sexiness more subdued, and making a few hot male characters too. And the breast jiggle should absolutely be reduced.

I'm curious to what you all think should be done. In what way would you implement more sexualized male characters?Apparently...I don't get why that's always used as the analogy. Women don't wanna see floppy dicks, unless it's on a guy they're sleeping with, unlike boobs which anyone can appreciate regardless...
And why is a skimpy outfit for a guy a bikini? Guys don't normally wear bikinis!
This is true. Im not sure how the GTAV devs overlooked boob physics for the stripclub, when they put so many small details in the rest of the game.
The p2 "bug" is far superior to the bland P1 side. Capcom got Lauras jiggle just right IMO.
I hope we get an option to adjust the boob jiggle. Then everyones preferences can be met.

The animations in this game are beautiful.
Every time I see this gif, Bloody Stream starts playing inside my head.
Every single time.
Girls love Final Fantasy character. Just copy them. Make them stylish and with strange suits, like Dante in DMC3. A good example for this is Ein in DOA5, Zell from FF8, Jin from Tekken.
Show some muscles like Ryu,make them determined, strong and indipendent. Show the abs, the torso, the biceps... there are a lot of girls who will like it.
Also, you can make them androgynous. Like Eliot in DOA5. Hell, make him crossdress.
Here,that's what i got.
I don't understand where this "show the penis or the balls, make them move" comes from. Because of he jiggle? Howerever, girls aren't interested in this. Maybe do it just for a spectator mode like in DOA, also... Girls like it when it's hard.
Some other good examples are Urien in Third Strike
Feilong outfit in SFIV
Bruce in Tekken
Anyway there is a woman perspective on the matter, and it's much more complex than we could think.

See? Final Fantasy. I was right!
I'm not sure why you're using Urien to prove your point. He's fights in a thong. That's the kind of stuff we're actually asking for. And it's important to remember it's not just women who want to see more sexualized male characters, there's plenty of men, like myself, that do too. Some other good examples are Urien in Third Strike

There's lots of attractive male characters in gaming but they're not nearly as overtly sexualized as female characters are.Heeh, the point being, there is no shortage of "sexy" male characters in video games, but we men don't often realize this because, well, we're not women, and what they may consider sexy or not is different from us.
I'm curious to what you all think should be done. In what way would you implement more sexualized male characters?
Really, there is no "right" answer. Different people have different tastes. There's no one size fits all solution. But if Capcom wants to have overtly sexualized characters in this game (which is fine by me) then I'd like to see them put as much emphasis onto the male characters as they do to the female characters in that regard.
Pretty boys, guys who are muscular but not overtly so, so more like a Chris Hemsworth Thor look. In terms of "skimpy" outfits, probably more like nice clothes but made skimpier (missing shirts, showing off arms, tight/form fitting). Definitely not simply gender bending the character which putting a guy in a revealing bikini is essentially doing.

In terms of overtly sexual? Im sure you can find existing fighter outfits that would fit. It's more the designs of the male characters in them leaned more towards strong(for males) than sexy (for women). Like put a wrestler and an attractive actor in the same outfit and it's percieved wildly different.
Of course I'm only speaking in terms of hetero men/women. I'm not sure how gay/lesbians view sexualized designs of each gender
Ok, I had the impression people wanted to see balls physics and penis veins...
That's your point of view, but Zangief, Necalli and Bearded Ryu are as much sexualized as their woman counterpart in SFV, and there are several outfits in previous fighting games that also filled the criteria.
People seriously need a reminder of how breasts move if that's what's considered well made. ._.Rockstar probably tried to have that, imo. But it's not an easy task and maybe they had to redo the character models in order to achieve boobs physics. It was not worthy probably. Still, they didn't do a good job.
And yes, in this gif the effect is well made.
All of this.I'm curious though, it's a fighting game, why does it HAVE to be sexualized to begin with??
I think SFV looks great (graphically it's an amazing achievement) but the emphasis on chick's nipples and their asses is nothing short of distracting, and besides I think Karin every female has been almost bursting from some part of their outfit.
Admittedly, I'm a girl, so I'm likely not the intended audience (and I got nothing against them gratuitously showing off the guys too --- but they don't, like ever), but this amount of titilation is so transparent, simple pandering, and a little embarrassing with its *complete* lack of subtlety.
It's more than outfits, it's action. It's Cammy's ass facing the screen, Mika slapping her butt and wearing a top that practically push ups her top. Bearded Ryu looks good, but he's not "playing for the camera" the way the girls sometimes are.
