The Frame Rate of Fallout 4 in Interiors is horrible [PS4]

Ok... this Gif is perfect..

As for the video.. I don't see it.. I am not defending this game. I'm just use to playing alot of poorly B teir made games that I could make anything work and don't notice the stuff Gaffer's can catch in their sleep.

Yeah, I don't see it either. I watched it 5 times now. I don't know what the problem is about that video, I just don't.

I hated oblivion and skyrim. This is my first Fallout game. I saw the OP video and scope video and saw nothing wrong. Is there something wrong with my eyes?

The framerate halves when he views down the scope, it'd be semi-impossible to aim well like that.

I'm playing on PS4, ans the framerate is good. Yes, sometimes it drops (when it saves and load things actually) , but it's very minimal (and I'm very sensitive to framerate). Don't worry, the performance is good.

So...

I'll just judge for myself haha

I don't expect a game to be perfect. Some jank and a few drops aren't world breakers if it's in rare circumstances. What IS pissing me off is the shitty embargos. I wanna hear from reviewers or DF as to which version is best. I have the PS4 version on order, somewhat hesitantly from the start as their reputation on Sony platforms is garbage.

My cursor is hovering over the cancel order button. The only thing saving me from doing it is the fact that I'm getting it for $50 CDN, so $30 less than MSRP. I could always not open it and resell it.

There's a pretty good chance that any area that has framerate dips in the PS4 version will also have framerate dips in the other versions. Hopefully, it's not as dramatic of a dip on the PC.

Can't believe folks are on here defending hard against this. If it doesn't bother you then fine, but sheesh. Some of these replies...

It would kinda explain things and no i don't mean those pathetic conspiracy theories from some folks here, but the fact that BGS ported Skyrim to Xbox One and that it's probably also the lead platform.

Does not mean it should be full of bugs and framerate issues on PS4 though. Let's wait and see, and let's especially not cancel pre-orders and go all buckwild.

People should cancel their pre-orders because pre-orders are stupid. Especially for a Bethesda game.

Yeah... playing Bethesda games on the PS3 was always risky...

Makes me a bit nervous for buying this on PS4. But honestly... OP's video was not bad at all... serious hyperbole.

OPs video didn't really seem bad at all but the scope video looks awful.

I never played a fallout game. I bought into the hype and pre ordered this one.
If this game is bad for some reason, I'm going to become the most skeptical person when the subject is pre orders.

So another Bethesda open-world game runs like crap on consoles :(? How am I not surprised at all hearing this......

People gave AC Unity a lot of crap for this, so hopefully people will complain about FO4 running bad, so that way patches that fix the frame rate come out faster and that future Fallout/Elder Scrolls game run on a different engine.

At least the game runs on PS Consoles this time out....so that's something. Thank got its not like pre-patch Skyrim or the Fallout games on PS3 (yikes....those are some of the worst running games on PS3 last generation X().

Sorry if this sounds like complaining but this really is in-excusable, so hopefully they fix the game up before its launch.

Sucks for ps4 fans, here's hoping this gets patched. Good thing decided to go pc where hopefully this isnt as much of an issue

Whats up with the horrible graphics in that vid? It looks like that common effects like shadows etc are missing and on top of that bad framerate drops.

Well, fuck. Performance issues always were my only concern for the game. I guess I'll see tomorrow how bad it is.

Well, it's not a myth as such, just incredibly overstated.

The up-clock does help Xbox games performance, but it will never make a difference to the extent people saw in AC Unity (at release), for example. And later on, it was greatly improved with a patch. You can't "patch a faster CPU" into a game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda straight up ported the game on PS4. Either as part of the Microsoft deal or because of the history between them and PS3, I don't know.

Why would they want to purposely cripple a game especially on the console that's leading in sales and in more people's homes(you understand Bethesda is a business and not invested in console warz right?). They are a business and are you kidding with Microsoft paying to make the ps4 version worse remove tin foil hat.

Wouldn't a more realistic reason be that Bethesda optimized the engine for directX. I'm sure it's gonna run equally bad on Xbox as well.

I noticed it in that video a couple of times.
I also noticed big dips in another video a few days ago. Particularly when there was alpha effects like smoke on-screen.

What platform are the review copies on? PS4?

I'm inclined to think they are giving the best performing version of the game to press.

Unity didn't have drops though. It ran in the low 20s consistently.
From what I see here it doesn't look so bad. The scope one is terrible but it may be an isolated incident due to the campfire in the field of view.

If, after multiple console releases where the XBox/DirectX version of a Gamebryo game ran better than the Playstation version, you still expect better the next time around.

PS4 has the same architecture as the One and not that classic Sony chip weirdness. So why would we be insane? And how does the One version run actually?

Wow, that is terrible for console gamers.

You would think outside would be more taxing than interiors.

Digital Foundry analysis will be interesting.

here's a video, i've recorder earlier today.

i just uploaded it, so youtube is still converting it, i think.

the framerate war fine until i used the scope, then it dropped significantly, making it hard to get a good shot.

https://youtu.be/aPAH3bFx3VE

but ps4 is so powerfull!!!!! lol eat a dick you fucking neofaggots. bunch of retarded sony drones with asperger.

This is my favorite YouTube comment ever.

That was pretty bad though. Reminds me of walking through the destroyed Skellige forest in Witcher 3. Doesn't seem unfixable though, if Bethesda feels like... you know, actually keeping up with standards.

The same person who posted that vid even said he's had other firefights that ran stable.

Aw hell I have a Gtx680. I'm not sure where I fall on the spectrum of PC or ps4.

Might end up cancelling my pre order and grab it down the line on PC. I'll be busy with Starcraft and Tomb Raide anyway.

Really sad for people that has only a PS4. Hopefully it stays relatively "minor" like the OP video and doesn't deteriorate further down the line.

It's not gonna be this bad on PC is it?

I really hope not :-/

It's actually quite scandalous that the current gen of consoles can't maintain 30 FPS. It's a real shame :-(

I played both FO3 and NV on PS3 and the interiors were usually the only stable parts of the game. Hopefully it's a quick fix.

Yeah, I'm stuck with a 660. I bought a 970 but it didn't work with my PC.

So PS4 it is. I'll double dip on PC later when I get a better rig.
