Honestly surprised at Halo being #1. After the lukewarm reception of Halo 4 and the absolute disaster of MCC, I honestly thought it would be #4 or #5 on the list.

Good job 343! I'm really looking forward to you finishing the story of this particular arc. You definitely made me want to see how it's going to end!

It's impossible to not imagine a lot of kids looking at one console with cod, battlefront, and halo available this holiday, and the other with cod, battlefront, and.. This holiday.

Ps4 still is winning by a ton and this holiday won't change much but they are not in the best position.

Most kids don't care for games outside of multiplatform though. Halo isn't going to really change the mind of a 13 year old whose dead set on playing COD on the system that gets the DLC a month earlier.

I mean, yeah, it's definitely possible that some look at it that way, but I can't see a majority of kids throwing any other game into the picture besides the one they are buying it for (which is Call of Duty or Battlefront)

with the price drop and bundled for sure, what happened this month that they couldn't beat XBO when they beat it for the last 10 months? and then down YoY, IF True, IIDK.

Did people really think it was beating Halo though?
I know MS has poisoned the well but didn't think it could ever be enough to topple a Halo game.

Probably. That is why they introduced the REQ system. If you anticipate less users and you want the same revenue, you have to find another way to get said revenue.

Yep. Exactly. Which is what many, including myself, we're trying to explain in some of the Halo PR threads only to get bombarded with "but digital though" over and over again. The Microtransactions will ensure the title is still profitable. I mean SpeedyBlueDude has already spent more than $420 on req packs alone. That's the sort of fanaticism that Halo inspires in its biggest fans and it will carry the series well despite a smaller audience.

creamsugar said more than 1.1m for Batman plus 121k bundles. Mortal Kombat X sold more than 1.25m, so both are very close.

Ok yeah that's what I thought I remembered. One of those 2 being the biggest launch. NBA was also over a million if I remember right and so was Hardline. So we actually have several games really close to each other for biggest launch. Nothing until COD really pulled away from the pack.

I'm now thinking Halo was in that range as well. Maybe 1.1 or 1.2

My guess!

If COD and Star Wars bundles were included in October this is how it would look.

UNC 200,000 consoles sold
COD 500,000 consoles sold
SW 450,000 consoles sold

Total: 1,150,000

wait, is he still here? I thought he was banned

How much did AW Xb1 bundle do last year? 200k?

Even with Black Ops brand, I don't see the CoD bundle doing more than 50k more than last year's equivalent.

Batteries the CRISIS!
So am I correct in thinking the only solid number we have on anything is Xbone sales? I'm sorry I've had a really busy evening and have missed most of the thread

Lol it will be several orders of magnitude larger.

well, maybe just one order of magnitude. let's not go crazy and say there will be 3 billion copies sold or something

The COD bundle will do ok but the Star Wars Bundle with take majority of those sales since they have 3 of them.

Well we wont see the results of one of them since its Walmart exlclusive.

I mean it will be 2 - 3x the size. Easily. PC version alone on Steam is at 1.5 million without even a full week yet. Where do you think the console version are?

Let's think rationally for a sec though, shall we?

If our current estimates are right, the PS4 is -down- YoY, in spite of being both $50 cheapper -and- bundled with the UC trilogy. The only logical explanation frankly (when considered that the XB1 really didn't do so hot with a mainline Halo release @ 304k) is that given that the price drop extended to very hot November LE bundles, many potential buyers possibly decided to delay their purchase.
If that is correct, and the XB1 and PS4 are as close as Queso hinted, it's the reason why (along with August Halo5 bundle pre orders) we have an XB1 lead.

Bummer that we'll have to wait mid December to confirm if that is true though.

Now... We need Creamsugar numbers.

Would be interested in Elite controller figures too. I've read its popularity caught MS off guard, was hard to get a hold of one initially. Mighty fine controller though.

Like who?

How are we supposed to know?

It's legitimately hard to tell what kind of impact certain sales influencers would have.

If you told me last March a ...$450 Destiny bundle would be a bigger sales driver for PS4 than a $50 price drop, I wouldn't had agreed with that analysis.

Lol, hell yeah. Feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Only thing I can think would be people holding out for battlefront and/or Black Friday bundles. But that goes both ways, I do know that halo was enough to push me to get the xb1 because Black Friday, plus I pulled some wizardry at wal-mart on the price.

I am in need for pie.

Believes Dragon Quest is a franchise managed by Sony
I wonder if its possible PS4 and XB1 sales are so low because of people waiting on November deals and bundles?

I'm over that stuff. After following TimDog for a while, I realized how sad Corporate flag waving looks sometimes. Kind of made me grow out of benign so extreme with my likings. ;P

no I'm not here
Good to hear. There's nothing wrong with having preferences, but as you've figured out it can be taken to extremes by some people. :)

Not for SW .
Destiny was 300k if i remember righting , SW should be more than that .

Maybe yeah, if it gets good word of mouth could be true. 400k is possible I guess, but a lot of people buying in November are going to wait 1 more week and get the UC bundle for $299

Don't get me wrong though the BF bundle will be huge. Should be able to at least match that 300k number
