I'm confused. People keep talking about how great the
silver shroud costume is, but I got it last night from the comic store and it had like half the damage resistance of my current armor set. I'm still only about ten hours in having just got to diamond city.
I don't get it though, as there were some tough ass enemies I fought, including an alpha deathclaw just to get to this thing, and it's weak. What am I missing?

You can upgrade it, but it's almost always gonna be worse than custom parts armor. It looks rad at least.

It's what you do in it, not the stats.

I'd always have the boss guy end up shooting him in the back of the head *by accident* so I went with the charisma route so that he tried to kill me first.

I discovered you could hit VATS as soon as the battle started and take the boss out before he's able to kill him, though i was save scrumming a little there to see the options play out (that was the only part of that questline where I did though).

I've had a lot of random three way battles occur (Super vs BoS vs Raiders is always good), but favorite randomness moment so far:

Talking to Piper after leaving something in downtown Boston, down the alley a blue streak flashes and then a car goes nuclear, all while we're in conversation mode. Given that it was a relationship related conversation...

Loving the game, but biggest disappointment so far is all the women in the game have the same color panties and bras. I have a shack full of dead settler women and they all have the same white panties and bras on. If they do release a spinoff, I hope the devs change it up. Imagine disrobing a woman in the game and she could be wearing a purple thong or the next one could have pink panties. It would make hunting people down and dragging them to your hideout more fun.

10/10 Bravo. Wait what, he got banned?

Fallout 4 OT2 - Beware Teemo, the pantyhunter's deathshack.

When you give it to Kent he returns it with extra armour (around 40) ..
provided you agree to become the Silver Shroud.

Ugh, the higher level I am, the more silly the damage vs hp ratio are.
Why can't I 1 shot to the head kill anymore? Headshots only do about half of the enemies' hp nowadays.

I wouldnt even be mad. Well I would (lol) but I could very well just buy the season pass now blindly because I KNOW ill buy it when the first is out, and at least it would be adressed. But arent Fallout DLCs usually completely removed from the main narrative?

Can you get ammo for it anyware? I heard from corpses but I shot someone's head off with, went to the head which was impaled on the wall and coudlnt get my spike back :/

Yeah the vendors sell it, just bought 200 off of Tom

literally minutes after getting a set of X-01 power armor and going back to Sanctuary, right after I upgraded all the parts, Piper decides to leave it in the middle of my house and someone stole the fucking helmet!

fucking Jun Long had it. god, I hate the Longs.

Oh god, those Long's one is a whiney little man and the other is an ungrateful cow, if I weren't a morally good character they'd be floating in the river that goes around Sanctuary looong ago..

What story mission are you on? I've noticed Valentine and Piper go where they are needed for story missions sometimes rather than going to where you tell them to.

Yeah I've seen that happen before, she went to the Mayor's office in Diamondopolis and I wasn't expecting her to be there. I checked the city, her office, Sanctuary hills, I slept for 3 days, and she still was nowhere to be found.

I just rolled back to a save from before the BoS missions, and I'll keep her with me.

She's my waifu.

I have this with no other game, none, but for some reason when i am playing Fallout 4, the foliage flickers like crazy. If i stand still it's all ok, but as soon as i look around it starts to flicker, it goes bright and then back to normal again. I was told this was due to blur being used in the game....but on my much much smaller screen i don't see it at all.

I am gaming on a EC9300 OLED from LG. Super resolution is completely off and all that other stuff too. Basically any piece of foliage in view is affected and this makes it look really distracting and ugly overall. I am using the game mode because of the nice low input lag while still having a really nice picture quality. Anyone else with this tv having this stuff?

Xbox One version by the way.

Aw jeez, I went to do the BoS Vertibird mission and couldn't find the bird, it was outside of the airport, half submerged, being shot at by the airport security for some reason. It's half dead.

Thanks, Todd.

level 23 and crushing w/ 2 points in Lone Wanderer and my dude meat, hope this shit isn't patched soon. Hate how I look like a cobbled together mess though when out of power armor. Same head piece since level 6...

That's actually due in part to the type of AA that Bethesda is using. I've also found, at least on my Kuro, that if I don't set the screen to pixel-perfect (whatever your no-overscan mode is called) can also clear up some of the same thing.

Any tips for someone who spec'd toward Charisma, Agility, Perception and Science? Enemies are completely smoking me, which is great. I like feeling a real sense of danger in the city outside of Diamond. But some tips from people with a similar starting build would be helpful.

That's because the Game uses TXAA. You can also see ghosting on character's mouths when they talk and some nasty artifacts on beards. Fuck TXAA, it's the worst AA solution, imo.

What level are people typically getting to when they finish playing? Is there a cap that most players will hit?

45 hours, still not at Diamond City. Should be there soon though, def by end of this weekend. Just want to clear some buildings and side quests on the way there.

Don't have to say this as you guys know how much fun I've been having, but yea, this is GOTY for me.

Definitely GOTY for me as well.

I was running toward the bridge from Sanctuary to red rocket station. I collided slightly with the edge of a car's door and died. The physics based damage glitch has been around since Crysis 1 LMAO.

Anyway, the A.I needs a lot of tweaking and improvement; it is extremely bad and save for path finding (which glitches frequently) and taking positions. The problem isn't technical, but it is a design one. Running and shooting with nearly 100% accuracy is ridiculous; what is worse is that the A.I shoots freaking pixels that are out of cover, so taking cover is mostly futile. Add to that the fact that the A.I can shoot all day without having to worry about ammo conversation.

NPCs should have limited ammo and be more conservative with shooting. I noticed how bad the A.I is after
fighting covenant on survivalist difficulty. I basically had to run around the settlement, being chased by fucking aimbots that bull-rush you with 100% accuracy. I barely killed them with a weak bolt sniper rifle (40 damage) on level 10, and some NPCs were finished by my shotgun when I got up close to them.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like

Yeah but in game mode there'd nothing left i can disable to make it go away. Ah well, gotta live with it then. I could use PC mode with Expert 1 and that seems to mostly remove it, but only if i disable super resolution, and i actually like super resolution, works fine for all other games. So my guess is very few games nowadays use TXAA?
