Man, I'm so pissed. I found some console command online to remove shrubs from settlements and now I can't find it at all. An hour and a half down and fucking nothing done thanks to all this needless jank.

Does anyone know the console command I'm referring to?

What's buggy about it?

Beds stay owned, as does virtually everything in it. Turrets do not provide defense and cannot be scrapped.

I don't know how it turns out if you complete the quest the other way but I
sided with Dan and cleared out the compound/town
.

Was exploring the glowing sea and stumbled upon an abandoned shack. It turned out to
be a huge government facility before the war and i found X-01 armor
THIS GAMEEEE

Actually, this might be the problem. Gatdamn settlers found a hangout point.

Scrapped the shack they were stuck behind and it's slowly going up again now. Built a chair on a roof so I can watch over people, but every 24 hours they end up back there, but at least move afterwards.

That place is awesome though I felt damn bad for the dude who
died mere steps away from the hatch down into the facility with his suitcase and key. What pieces did you find there? Mine had the torso, head, and both arms, all X-01.
.

The game world in Fallout 4 is just so awesome. It's a very believeable world and it could definitely look like this if it were real life. Crashed passenger planes, collapsed bridges, abandoned cars and trucks and so on. Plus that this world feels lived in. I loved Fallout 3 but that world wasn't nearly as good as this.

Quest spoilers.
I did the same. The beds in the first house on the left as you enter beds are fine for me. Also placed a lazer turret down and it destroyed all the turrets on the wall.

45 hours, still not at Diamond City. Should be there soon though, def by end of this weekend. Just want to clear some buildings and side quests on the way there.

Don't have to say this as you guys know how much fun I've been having, but yea, this is GOTY for me.

Slackers! Bit like my ghoul settler in Sanctuary. He just chills and watches people work.

I thought there was a perk that would link all the settlement's workshops together? As in sharing all stashed materials. I thought it was local leader, but I'm still missing materials when building new settlements.

Yeah ):
the set i found only had the torso, right arm, and left leg but it's perfect since I was just missing the right arm for a full set.

Highlight a settler in Workshop mode and hit the button for Supply Line and connect the settlements. It'll rename that Settler into Provisioner and it gives them a Brahmin.
You won't see the same items in the Workshop benches but mats WILL be shared (across connected Settlements) when building.

oh shit lol! doing a sidequest I missed before, its located behind Shamrock Taphouse, theres a kid on the wharf that gives it if you want to do it. Anyway spoilers from here on:

You find a chinese ghoul inside a submarine (guess hes been there since the war) and one of the dialogue options is straight up "DIE COMMIE!" lol. so wrong :(

I keep reading that I need 20 people for this Benevolent Leader shit and it's best that they're all just settlers and not named people. Had Sheffield there so told him to get to steppin' and had 19, so went to Sanctuary to get a new settler and then the map said 37 people at Starlight. Fuck.

How did you guys that haven't been (or took a while to get) to Diamond City spend your time in the meantime? I felt pretty pressured to go towards it early because exploring was ending in my death very quickly and I also didn't run across that many side quests that I felt were doable.

Found some x01 armor at a Railroad checkpoint by Jamaica where they were fighting two deathclaws. Helped them out with my sniper from afar and came in. Missing legs though.

I think it's just 20 or more people. Might be a glitch too, from what I've read you cap out at 10 settlers + your CHR level.

Explore everything slowly, make sure I get all loot. I spent two hours in Super Duper Mart (gives you an idea how thorough I am).

I'm pretty much moving from where I started (North West part of the map) down to Diamond City, exploring everything in between. I can't begin to explain, I explore like every corner possible. It's an obsession. I love it.

Playing on Hard and don't find myself dying too too much. Just hit Level 16.
Actual debating whether to go up a difficulty level.

My build is focused on Armor/Gun modding (high INT) and I use mostly a laser rifle, shotty, laser pistol, sniper and non-laser rifle. A nice mixed bag of guns. I am avoiding automatic weapons this playthough unless it's something real nice. Also running high CHA on this build. Rifleman perk is a must for me too.

Just...wandering :p

*Spoilers BoS: Blind Betrayal

So ummm.... What!? Danse is a
synth!?
& he himself didn't even know it?

Danse has been my default goto companion, so there was no way in hell I was going to kill him. Not sure if having 10 Charisma had anything to do with this but I managed to save Danse, though it was mentioned he is no longer to set foot at or seen by BoS. This is really the tipping point for me, I mean first the giant nuclear robot then this & now they want Vergil dead too!? these people are horrible.

So now that Danse knows the truth does that mean his POV has changed? or does he still have the brainwashed BoS mentality? It would be nice to see his character development reflect on the like/dislike action companion mechanic.

You can always change sides, it's not too late to become a Railroad synth supporter (;

I thought out of all the factions the Brotherhood of Steel were actually the worst, their intolerance for anything other than Humans was pretty rough.

Mild spoiler related to an Easter egg, but really more related to romance

So while out exploring with Piper, a UFO flew overhead and crashed somewhere north of me. As I rushed over there, I came across a settlement I was supposed to investigate on behalf o the minutemen anyway, I accept their quest which pushes Piper to idolize me. She then decides to talk while I'm anxiously wanting to run off and see what the heck that UFO was about and the romance option finally came up. I do it and it it didn't take despite being well into lady killer...friendzoned! I let it slide since I was excited about the UFO but was curious if I'll get another shot at romancing her again. I got my achievement, but dammit I want a happy payoff for my Wanderer. Anyone know if when having max affection with a companion does the romance option appear again or should I let my OCD win and reload the save? Or should I just bro it out with Nick Valentine like I had planned AFTER I was romantically involved with Piper

Thanks!
A little bit of advice: You can save the game during conversations. Before a Conversation roll, save the game, then reload if the check fails.

The only major release i have played this year is Bloodborne and right now i'm gonna have a hard time deciding which is better, they are both so good in so different ways. In other news having to use power armor for going to
the glowing sea
has made me regret my build, kinda makes me want to restart again and put all points into INT.

Thats why i wish there was NG+, so i could continue my character while redoing the story but keeping my guns and stuff, or at the very least collectibles and level and such.

Im not happy with how it all ended, but i dont feel like playing it all over again from nothing :|

Mods please make NG+ :D

Finally managed to progress, I lost an hour's worth of progress but at least the problem's gone now.

Fallout 3 NV taught me to incessantly save my game. I'm at over save #200 in about 50 hours of gameplay and that's not counting all the quicksaves. I basically do a hard save every 15 minutes on a new file. I hit the save limit awhile ago and have to go overwrite old ones now. Actually haven't had any game breaking bugs yet.

That's another reason why I made so many saves, I wasn't sure where the point of no return would be. I did all the faction endings to see how they all played out then picked the one I liked best for my post game stuffs.

It did for me, too. I've just never had a glitch where I had to roll back an entire quest to solve it, before. Every other save I loaded just resulted in a glitch. I'm thankful I had that save, or my game would've been fucked.

Yeah that's crazy, any idea what caused it? Ugh now that I just read my post I'm realizing that if it takes 30 seconds to make a save I've spent over an hour just saving my game haha

Am i crazy for exclusively using the quick save option for saving my game? I actually despise having too many saves #YOLO

In a Bethesda game? Yes. At least do a hard save every hour. I go overboard, usually doing one before entering buildings/starting new missions.

I dunno, apparently that mission can be very glitchy. One of the glitches seems to be caused by not accessing a certain terminal before descending on the first elevator. What causes the second elevator ride to last eternally, I dunno.

Well i started burning bridges before i realized there was no NG+ so in order to do that i would have to play 90% of the game all over + discover everything again.
I hate that.
I could deal with NG+ as you would at least get something from it, fresh start give me nothing.
Probably why i loved Bloodborne as much as i did, NG+ after NG+ after NG+ week in and week out, as it still felt like progression while Fallout 4 now feels like the opposite if im to try and get the other faction endings/standings.

So I'm actually considering siding with The Railroad now, but is Shaun right? are synths really just machines with the illusion of free will? There is got to be some sort of truth to what he says, he is the creator after all. All this taking sides thing is fucked. can't I just stick to the minutemen, I am the general. I just want to call the shots :(.

On a related note this idea has me very excited for the upcoming game Detroit.

How do you even get decent high level armor in the game other than X-01 power armor (a few places in the world have spots that can spawn this power armor once you are 28+)? Every legendary armor I find at level 48-50ish is usually low level leather, metal, or synth. I haven't even found that many non-legendary high level armor. Maybe I am missing out on some of them due to the confusing names when mods are included, ie, I assume a higher level piece is just a lower level one with mods?

Lately, I've just been wearing my charisma gear and using the X-01 power armor...

The cannon is awesome! Gonna get the hat too! thanks for the info.

I thought they'd make it to the ocean so when you go swim outside you might even encounter them at some point again but then they decided to fly against the freaking building lol

Whoa, wait what? So if I find like T-45 Power Armor and ignore it then reach level 26+ it'll change into X-01 ??

Nah, I think it's locked in when you find it. The
Abandoned Shack in the Glowing Sea
will have different grades of power armor depending on your level when you first arrive there (up to X-01).

Thanks and Updates

Thank you! We can't say it enough- thank you for the amazing support you've given us. We're incredibly blessed to have so many incredible fans. You've made Fallout 4 not just our largest game launch ever, but one of the industry’s. It's beyond anything we hoped for.

Seeing and reading your stories has given our whole studio immense joy. It's amazing to see what you've done with the game, what you've discovered, and what you've built! We know there's even more to come; the game is full of hidden gems and ways it can be played.

For some, the freedom the game offers can be overwhelming. We know the game throws a lot on you at once, so take your time. There are many moments of “How does this work? What do I do to survive?” and that’s how your character should be feeling as well. Those that push through should be able to look back at who they were when they stepped out of the Vault and say, “I made it. I understand this world now and it’s mine.”

It's true that the freedom our games offer you can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once. Given the scale and complexity of the systems at work, especially when allowing you to build your own settlements, we're happy that Fallout 4 is our most robust and solid release ever, and we'd like to thank our amazing QA staff who worked as hard as anyone to break the game so we could fix it during development. But a hundred testers will never replicate the many millions playing the game now, and we're hard at work addressing the top issues.

Our process for updating the game will include releasing a beta patch on Steam, followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles. This process has worked well for us in the past and allows us to get more fixes out faster. Expect to see more updates, that are smaller and more frequent, than a few big ones. This allows us to make sure each fix is working right, as any change can have unintentional side effects in a game this huge. We expect the first beta patch to be up next week.

If you have feedback or issues to let us know about, contact our support staff here.

Thanks again for everything. We look forward to our continued journeys together.

Bethesda Game Studios

More patches! WOH!
