Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist |OT|Yes, I did summon a bunch of monsters in one turn

That reminds me I have to keep working on my Stardust/Synchron deck....man I hate how nobody wants to trade their Jet Synchrons

I'm guessing that's a newish card? Looks practically made for Yusei, no way he'd miss out on it!

Anyway, I'm making my Aki
za
deck and noticed she only used Gigaplant during flashbacks. I'm assuming it still counts but I'd like to make sure before I start testing it. Ooh, she was also given Yusei's Stardust Dragon for one episode. Is that enough to make it eligible for her deck?

Yes, The Synchron Extreme Structure was made this year as a tribute/support for Yusei's deck.

It even includes this beauty.

As for Aki, Gigaplant yes, Stardust no. As she used it in a tag duel

Using living arrow + polymerization + mammoth graveyard to weaken Ultimate Blue Eyes made me interested with the show. Too bad that the card game is less flexible.

I feel like that's more the case of living arrow just doing whatever the hell Yugi wanted in the show...

Its so funny ive been stuck on the 5'ds story for ages at the last tournament..I've been using the story decks for yugioh and Gx so naturally i kept doing that for 5'd(without knowing jack bout synchros) so i kept getting wrecked by the unicorn guys...long story short i used the pre set pendulum deck and swept the rest of the story pendulum is way to op

I've been using a Penguin deck. It's a weak deck but it's really fun to use when you draw the right cards. I think this deck could definitely use additional support. Despite its current status, it could seriously be top tier with just 2 or 3 good extra support cards.

Something like this?

Pendulum Call said:
Discard 1 card; add 2 "Magician" Pendulum Monsters with different names from your Deck to your hand. Until the end of your opponent's next turn after this card resolves, "Magician" cards in your Pendulum Zones cannot be destroyed by card effects.

You can only activate 1 "Pendulum Call" per turn. You cannot activate this card if you activated the Pendulum Effect of a "Magician" Pendulum Monster this turn.

Wow.....
Not that strong but yes :p

We have nightmare penguin to move 1 card (any card) on the field to the hand.
We have penguin soldier to move 2 monsters to the hand.
Another similar card would be nice to have. Maybe one that specifically moves spell/trap cards.
And with NoPenguin's effect, the cards moved to the hand would be banished instead.

Could also use some magic/trap support for penguins.

I like how my fiendish chain didn't work on lonefire blossom. :/

Fiendish Chain negates the effects of the equipped monster. The equipped monster can still attempt to activate effects by paying costs, but the effect itself will be negated if Fiendish Chain is still equipped when it tries to resolve. Therefore, Fiendish Chain doesn't work on monsters that send themselves to the graveyard as a cost to activate their effects.

Thanks for the explanation. That's interesting.

Thinking about buying this game, but I was wondering about how long is this game, and how difficult is it? From my little research on the game, I see that you can use your own decks or the story decks. I've been out of Yu-Gi-Oh for like 10 years, so how hard is the game with only using the story decks?

Game has quite a few story duels that take up a good amount of time. Using the story deck can be hard but the story matches are easy if you make a half decent deck. Also read the op there are a couple of new summoning methods, like fusion/ritual that you need to learn if you want to play multiplayer.

Just read the OP to get up to date and you should be fine

Played the demo's 1st 2 battles. The nostalgia is too strong. Gonna buy this, though this game is extremely bare bones besides the gameplay. Just going to put on some music and blast through these duels, using only story decks for the nostalgia and true story feel.

Pay attention to how your story opponent uses their deck for the reverse duel if you decide to do them and what cards your own character has vs the enemy.

Some duels are RNG aka the early ones in each series so be patient and get ready to restart the duels a lot if you have dead hands.

Oh geez, I feel really bad about falling off this game/thread over the last month. Got sidelined by a bunch of stuff. Didn't even get around to uploading my matches from the previous tournament, though you guys probably don't care by now.

I haven't played the game since I was 12, and I'm slowly getting back into things. It takes a bit of getting used to but you'll get used to it. Pendulums are still confusing to me.

This game singlehandedly brought me and my friend back into spending more money than we should be on children's card games.

And I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I've actually begun to use LotD as a testbed for decks I want to make, fine-tune them, then pony up in order to build the deck on the cheap. Good times man.

So I went back to this game for the first time in a while. Did a random duel from the story (Yugi vs Kaiba).

I could have won earlier but well... I couldn't resist it once I got that Heart of the Underdog card, waiting on Exodia.

I still have to finish the campaign mode at some point (think I'm on Zexal now) but it's still a GREAT pick up and play game for short bursts of gaming when you don't have much time. <3

Thanks guys

I need cards that remove cards from play (aka Banish) instead of sending them to the Graveyard. I found "Macro Cosmos" and some others which are sadly DLC. Any other cards that have this effect and are not DLC? It would suffice if Monsters only are removed from play.

I don't know which of these are DLC-only, but try Dimensional Fissure, Banisher of the Light, or Banisher of the Radiance.

Look into cards with d.d as part of the name and black luster soldier envoy of the beginning.

I've been trying to get back to playing this game again too. A friend has given me some fun decks to play around with so I'm looking forward to any potential future GAF tournaments
if anyone else even plays this game any more lol.

btw, this Exodia deck I'm running is fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CfQRE1ueXA (it's only 20 seconds) Having 16 cards in hand at one time is pretty great lol.

I haven't played this in a while but I'd be up for any future GAF tournament. I'd even be willing to help with the prize and/or organization.

Well, it happened. Crow Hogan got destroyed in his duelist challenge.

Had 4 Exodia parts on the hand at the start of the match and then, when it was my turn, I drew the last part. RIP in pieces.

I'm itching to play some Yu-Gi-Oh game and I'm wondering if its possible to configure to play only with and vs classic cards online?
I quit Yu-Gi-Oh around the time the classic anime ended so I have no idea about the new stuff like GX, 5D etc. and the only game I played was Forbbiden Memories, which I really liked.

Sorry, Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have any "Legacy" Format as all cards are always legal, there's no set rotation, just the banlist.

Current Formats are Advanced (banlist), Traditional (You can use 1 of each banned card), Draft and Sealed (random deck,no banlist is applied)

You can always get up to date though,OP should have everything you need to get into modern YGO.

If you have any questions, I´m your man ;)

Oh wow. THis thread sure died down.

I haven't touched the game in a while either but it was worth the $20 purchase + all the DLC I bought.

It was fun.

It happens game is alteady waaaay behind the TCG.

We should adopt the FIFA model and get a new one each year lol.

I mean, they did recently announce 3 new games for mobile, pc, and 3ds in Japan, didn't they? Hopefully one of them will be good and also come over

So, it seems we'll be getting the upcoming Yugioh games announced at Jump festa in the west, and that this game will also be getting a major update this winter

Wow, seriously? I honestly thought that Konami would ditch Legacy completely to concentrate on the next lot of games they announced a while back. Winter is a long way away, but if it means a bulky new card update, that's fine by me. I'm assuming the game and the DLC sold quite well then.

The press release didn't exactly specify when the update for this game is coming out, though it does say the online console/PC game is coming out in this winter in the same sentence. Perhaps they'll give this game yearly updates lol.

That said, very glad to see that this game will be getting an update.

Oh shit, a new online Yugioh game on PC? That's awesome.

Hey just started playing again with a couple friends and having some trouble beating a dlc deck.

Friend bought one of the dlc that came with a conatructed melodious deck I believe. He has gotten the field lock off several times but his deck is not a complete melodious deck yet.

Was trying to look up a counter deck but didn't have much luck. Any suggestions?

Well the Melodious deck revolves all around the monsters special summoning each other to activate effects and combos so the first place you could look are cards that negate special summoning like Jowgen the Spiritualist. They are all Light attribute too I believe so you could go for anti Light cards like Ally of Justice Catastor before they're able to get a fusion off. The Aria/Elergy lock can be dealt with by cards that don't target or destroy such as Stellarknight Triverr which sends all other cards back to the hand when summoned. Stellarknights are DLC only right now but they should shut down Melodious pretty easily.

As for non-DLC decks, check out the Madolche Archetype as they have a card (Madolche Queen Tiaramisu) which shuffles cards back into the deck without targeting. Or if you want to vent your anger, you can always try one turn kill Exodia!

I got all this off of the Melodious wiki page so look there for more info.
