What is life after BloodBorne?

Wow OP you're in luck!! Since you're a Souls noob you have another 3 whole games to play, lucky you! Atm I envy you because I have 100% all the Souls games and their DLC so I have absolutely nothing atm but to play other games (yuck) and to wait for DS3 (the pain).

I switched to an alt account to ditch my embarrassing tag so I could be an embarrassing Naughty Dog fanboy in peace. Ask me anything!
I'll try the chalice dungeons haven't done them

They suck compared to the handcrafted levels in the main game and DLC. Just dont expect an astral clock tower :(

Personally I hope they are removed from the sequel as it seems to be a waste of resources that could possibly go into crafting an additional well made level.

Not the suggestion I think OP is looking for. OP If you like you games mechanically competent I dont think Witcher 3 would be a good bet. If you feel like playing a story driven game then yeah Witcher 3 will most certainly float your boat.

I'm pretty sure that was a joke. It better be. Playing witcher 3 after bloodborne was like

Get Dark Souls for $5 on Steam, play Dark Souls 3, and then wait a really really long time and play Dark Souls 2.

In the mean time and after, play games that are equally as good but in different genres, like Shovel Knight, Danganronpa, and Persona 4G. Maybe add in Xcom 2?

Edit: Oh yeah platinum it first of course. I remember my last trophy was the "You will be freeeed" ending. It was super appropriate because I was basically becoming a Bloodborne hermit at that point haha. Haven't touched it since, I'm gonna save it for a bit.

Oh, so you haven't gotten the platinum trophy yet. You're not done. NG+ and NG++ are pretty great. And you'll definitely want to delve into at least NG+ if you want to tackle some of the lower chalices. Unless of course you're absolutely amazing at this game and like to do insane challenges like Lobos Jr or something.

Go play the Souls games to get ready for Dark Souls 3. They're much better than Bloodborne and the difficulty for all of them is way overstated.

Much like Bloodborne, there's that one boss that everyone has where you just want to throw your controller.

These are the bosses that caused me so much aggravation. Yours may be different:

Demon's Souls -
Maneater. The first time I thought I was about to win and the second one dropped? Oh and Old Monk when you pull someone who decided it would be funny to have a scraping spear
Dark Souls -
Ornstein & Smough. I gave up for a month until some strategies came out.
Dark Souls 2 -
Darklurker. I powered through with sheer will but I was throwing swears at that boss for a long time.
Bloodborne -
Laurence, The First Vicar. Fuck this boss. The only one I've yet to beat solo.

The same as before. Dark Souls 1 is the better game before and after Bloodborne. And Dark Souls 3 looks like it will be a good contender to Dark Souls 1.

Yeah, combat feels slower from what I can tell in the Souls games (I've only played like... an hour of Bloodborne so far), but they're still freaking amazeballs games.

Even just watching a youtube video of someone's interpretation of the story is really interesting to me, though.

This is literally me after I finished Bloodborne.

I moved on to Uncharted 2/3 which I had not completed, and they were just so boring and unchallenging compared to Bloodborne.

I'm thinking about playing the Souls games, but they don't look as compelling in terms of fast gameplay and lore. I need Bloodborne 2.

Don't let the "worse" visuals fool you, they have more imaginative bossdesign, better levedesign and more RPG-elements. Lore is better too.

We really don't need BB2.

Dark 1 and Demon Souls are far better and more deserving of all the hyperbole thrown at BB.

Edit: And yes to the Hades gif. It's like Bloodbornefans never played a Souls game before.

take everything in this post and reverse it. Bloodborne is the best the formula has ever been.

Jup, the Story and Background of DS1 and DS2 is very very good. I can realy recommend Vaatividya for more insight into the Dark Souls Universe.

nope. sorry, i can't agree on this. Bloodborne is just an interpretation of the formula. But i am missing to many RGP elements in BB. Its faster and thats good, but fast is not always better.

I beat Bloodborne a couple of weeks ago. I gave it an 8/10. Good game but nothing amazing.

I'm now working my way through XCX now. It's good.

I doubt you experienced all there is to this game in one playthrough(if I'm not mistaking). Most of the fun came for me after my initial play, trying out different weapons, gems and builds.

The question should be what's after Dark Souls 3...cause we're fucked! At least for awhile.
Gods, don't remind me. :(

Loved Bloodborne, but now I'm interested in playing the other souls games. How does demons souls hold up today? Was thinking of playing this then dark souls.
DO IT
Greatest game of last gen.

"Souls fans" in a nutshell
"Souls fans" exist for a reason. Souls games really are just that good.

Life is nothing more than a cycle of waiting for the next Souls game.
:)

Man, I could play Bloodborne expansions until my fingers are no longer able to grab a controller.

I'm a huge Souls fan, but this is the absolute greatest game From Software have produced, in my opinion.

It's my favourite game of this generation by a country mile, and in my top 3 of all time.

The lore, the atmosphere, the art, the mechanics...It's a perfect blend of things I love.

God no.

Bring back character and gear diversity.

Personally, I liked how it had a more limited amount of weapons, that are all effective, and most of them with distinct differences. Compared to the usual RPG inventory clutter, with several versions of similar weapons, that have slightly different attributes and levels of damage, and knight armor that mostly look the same. I'm not a big fan of knight armor in general, so for me the Crowfeather, Bone Ash, Black Church, Harrowed, and Hunter attire sets were far more eye-pleasing.

On top of those, the lovecraftian horror theme was more to my taste, than the usual fantasy setting. Not to mention, the more aggressive combat, that didn't rely on standing behind a shield.

Whilst Bloodborne is undoubtedly the best game I've ever played like many others I recommend you to get into Souls games next.
Just recently started replaying DS1 and I have to admit it will feel really slow in the beginning but once you get past that it's pure gaming bliss. Kinda explains why DS3 is so much faster, just feels better.

Bloodborne is my favorite as well, because I prefer its glorious combat, setting and lore to that of the Souls series, but you can't go wrong with any Miyazaki game.

Gear diversity is nice and all, but I'm gonna miss the blistering dashes, gun parries and awesome trick weapons in DS3. Not to mention its wonderful cosmic horror lore and setting, which is simply way more appealing to me.

Here's to Bloodborne 2 then! 2017 or 2018 would be my guess. Unless they do something else first, but I think Sony wants that sequel after the critical acclaim and commercial succes of the first.
